The young staff member was very welcoming, friendly and helpful whilst checking-in and same can be said for other staff members on passing each other. Our room was clean on arrival and cleaned everyday. Yes there was a little bit of street noise from outside, but that can't be helped and honestly any hotel on any public street will have that, but to us it was no issue at all. Many steep stairs, but again can't be helped and it is what it is. Pub downstairs which is handy, but only cash accepted and cash only for the vending machine. Depending on where your heading off to, the hotel is centrally situated perfectly for short distances to lots of tourist attractions and public transport is easily accessible from the hotel. All in all a very suitable hotel to stay at for budget conscious travellers and we would stay at again if we're ever back in Amsterdam. Ben and Cath from Australia

Had a fantastic quick stay here with my family. It is bang In the city centre so it's super easy to walk everywhere and it's close to the train station which is really handy when you're travelling from the airport to the city. Staying in the city centre is usually really expensive but we found this to be a much more reasonable price with a decent room and a private en-suite, you can't go wrong. We're also majorly thankful to the staff here, as my Dad accidentally left his bracelet, which he's had since 2004 and bought in Australia, so it's irreplaceable. He hadn't even realised that he'd left it when we were flying home but the hotel messaged us a few hours after check out to let us know and offered to post it back to the UK for us, which they did. It came quickly and undamaged. Highly recommend this hotel :)

Hotel was exactly as expected, perfect location and had everything we needed- comfy bed, clean, nice bathroom etc. We were on the 5th floor and it was quite a hike up the stairs but this again was expected as the other reviews advised of this so we didn’t mind. Our room wasn’t ready at check in time (we were only waiting a couple of minutes) but the man at reception and the lady who I believe could possibly be the owner couldn’t have been more apologetic and offered us a free drink etc, we didn’t take it as we didn’t mind at all and it was only a couple of minutes but we appreciated the gesture nonetheless. Would happily stay here again.

Friendly staff,clean room,great location good value for money i stayed with family for my mums 56 birthday and the staff where always happy to help with anything she asked of them 110% customer service beds are a little small if you are a bigger person im 17 stone but this is what you get in most places around the red light district i always say you get what you pay for and in my opinion you get more than what you pay for here this is my second stay here i booked this place as ive stayed in others around the same area that arnt nice places to stay in and i know this is a nice place for the price.

Staff friendly and generally helpful. To be clear: it was clean, no bedbugs, comfortable beds (albeit narrow). We even had an en-suite. Exceeded expectations having read some negative reviews.

Not for families with younger children! Very steep narrow stairs (typical for Amsterdam); tv reception poor, most channels don’t work because the signal is too weak; outrageously overpriced drinks in bar (to be expected); won’t hold bags for you when you checkout (sent me and disabled daughter to train station, only to find it’s closed! Walked to next nearest, and they broke the step on my luggage…).

The hotel is in an amazing location, Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, my phone died I had left my charger on the train and I was unable to access my bank to put funds over from savings (I always keep my money in my savings when travelling abroad with my card), explained to staff and they charged my phone without a second thought. Always welcomed you with a bright smile and felt very respected as a guest.

We booked a double bed but was given two single blankets rather than 1 double, The pillows were small and only provided one each making it uncomfortable at times, Other than that it was a great hotel. Clean friendly and in a great location

Ideal location. Both clean and comfortable. Would recommend to a friend and definitely stay here again. Majority of staff are very friendly. There are no facilities in the room it is very basic but this is fine as the hotel is inexpensive.

I accidentally clicked a button saying we would check out in the early hours of the morning eg. 1am however there was an option to contact staff and change this easily. I did so and they responded that this was fine yet a man and woman (on separate occasions) both entered our room while we were still in bed. They did not knock. Someone could have been getting undressed and they weren’t very apologetic about it.

We had a 6 person room for our group of 5, so that was the right amount of space and included a private bathroom. The location was excellent, right in the vibrant, historic part of Amsterdam close to all the restaurants, shopping, and things to do. We could walk everywhere and especially enjoyed seeing the canals, tall old buildings, and all the people on bicycles. The stairs in the hostel are narrow, windy, and full of character which is great. Just have to be able to do lots of stairs since there is no elevator.

I actually love the location.All the bars and coffee shops so nearby The food was beautiful out of all the chippers Just all outside , literally five minute walk to everything . This stuff should be working in a 5 star hotel.They are the best stuff I have ever met Youse And the rest of the stuff 10/10

I could not shower because the shower Is very dirty All in all the place could be 4* If you would just bring in a few top cleaners.And clean out the room's properly

Location is closed to everything. The receptionist is so sweet and ready to help.

We can't sleep to much because it's so noisy from outside. They dont have elevator so you need to drag your luggage up in the stairs. No tissue and towels in the room so we need to go down in the reception and ask for it. I am not satisfied with the cleaning because there still a lot of crumbs, paper or tissue paper and clothes tag price on the floor. They forgot to wipe the bedside table. Its steaky from drinks of the previous guest.
