Staying at The Lastage Inn was the highlight of our holiday. From the moment we booked until the day we left, Matt made us feel incredibly welcome with his cheerful, helpful, and attentive service. Our room was immaculate, the bed exceptionally comfortable, and the in-room treats were a delightful surprise. Matt’s breakfasts were truly legendary—something we looked forward to each morning. His local knowledge, advice, and spot-on suggestions helped us shape the perfect Amsterdam experience. We didn’t put a foot wrong thanks to him. 10/10 – absolutely faultless. We’re already looking forward to staying again next time we visit Amsterdam.

Just about everything. The room was tastefully and comfortably fitted out, but not luxurious, the property well-maintained and scrupulously clean. There are only two rooms rented to guests, so it is an intimate experience. Matt's warmth, charm and dedication to his guests were an integral part of what made the stay memorable. The neighborhood was quiet and well-located, less than a 15 minute walk from the train station. And finally, a wonderful little bistro, Restaurant Van Beeren, is located just a minute away.
No complaints whatsoever. Guests should be aware though that rooms are small and reached by a steep and narrow stairway, which may not be suitable for people with mobility problems. We loved the bathtub, but there was no shower for those who may prefer one.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Lastage Inn and can not recommend it highly enough. It is outstanding!! First, a highlight is Matt, the owner and Inn Keeper. Matt has a winning personality and we enjoyed our conversations with him. Each day, we had a delicious breakfast, and absolutely loved the location of the Inn. It is located in a quiet neighborhood in a historic 5 story Dutch row house, and yet, is in the very heart of Amsterdam. It is only a few blocks from the Nieuwmarkt (New Market) Square (not to be missed), and an easy walk to the Maritime Museum and an area with fabulous views. It is easy to get to many of the other major sites as well. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable King size bed, and luscious Turkish bed linens. We were delighted to have found this darling Inn, and enjoyed our time there.
There was not a thing we didn't like.

We had an amazing stay at The Lastage Inn. The location was on a charming and quiet local street only 3-5 minutes walk from the bustling centre of town. The room was set up better than most 5 star hotels - luxurious bedding, tea and coffee and chilled drinks, homemade brownies, bathrobes, and the design and restoration of the property was beautiful. Matt was a brilliant host (and breakfast cook!) who offered many helpful suggestions for sightseeing around the city and provided engaging conversation over breakfast. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Where do I begin! Entering the front door makes you feel as though you are coming to see your beloved family. Our innkeeper, Matt, was wonderful and welcoming. He carried our bags to our room and we knew then that this was going to be perfect. A king sized bed and a big bathtub! How about beer and soda in the little refrigerator after a walk from the train station. Matt’s breakfast was so good and a great way to start the day. The best part, for us, was getting to know Matt and learn of the road to making Lastage Inn just was it is and that is perfectly perfect! Stay here! You will not regret your decision!
Nothing!

Not only is Lastage Inn in a convenient location, the accommodations were spotless. And the breakfasts are exceptional!! When one is as engaging and hard working as Matt is, it should come as no surprise of the 5-star rating and success of The Lastage Inn. From the moment you arrive, you will be treated with warm hospitality - not to mention the top notch breakfast and luxury linens that contribute to your experience. We hated to leave and look forward to our next stay…Thank you, Matt!
Other than the quirky shower (not a problem) there is nothing to find fault with

The breakfast offered a variety on cereals, juice and fruit. There was yogurt, bacon, eggs and bread with spreads as well. It well presented, a wonderful window view and very accommodating. Matt is a great host with lots of insight and information. Our room was very comfortable and clean including an up to date bathroom. Complimentary treats and a mini fridge filled with a variety of drinks came with the room. The fresh flowers were an extra touch! Maps and local information was available and Matt was a great resource. The location was perfect. It was an easy walk to all the places of interest for us yet tucked away from the busy streets filled with people and businesses.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Amazing and beautifully clean and cosy stay, Matt clearly is passionate about providing a great service to his guests and he does so exceptionally well. I came here with my girlfriend to watch the Formula One Dutch Grand Prix, we wanted somewhere that was nice, but also local to the train station to commute to the track. Typically, we never stay in bed and breakfast accommodation, usually hotels, however the succeeded our expectations and we would definitely come back here! Nothing is too much to ask for with Matt, he is a genuinely lovely guy and wants to get to know his guests and ensure they have a great time. Everything is well thought out, from the small details in the room, to the lovely breakfast he provides every morning. Perfect central stay everything within walking distance! Thank you so much Matt, and we will definitely be coming back and always recommending this to any friends or family who want to stay in Amsterdam!
Nothing negative to say, and that is some statement considering we travel a lot! This is definitely up there in the best places we’ve stayed abroad. To anyone reading this, do yourself a favour and book this place when coming into Amsterdam!

The breakfast here is sterling quality (fresh fruit and yoghurt, sourdough toast with salmon/bagel, and a warm croissant too if you’re lucky), and the inn was incredibly welcoming throughout which made our stay very enjoyable. The neighborhood is central which makes travelling easier (we did everything by foot) and the bed was also very comfy to let us recover after a long day. I personally appreciated the high quality facilities, even things like Aesop products (lush smell), Dyson hair dryer, good bedding, and the lovely room scent - it just makes your holiday that much more pleasant. I travelled with my mother and she also had an excellent experience here. I would come back here!
For our room, there was a bath where you can shower too; this was fine for us, but it might be difficult for some people. The place has a communal kitchen for you to hang out in but it’s probably fair to say that the place is best for people who are wanting to visit the city and be out most of (or a lot of) the day - which I assume is most people!

So much to love about our stay. It's an excellent location - close to the centre, but in a quiet street. Matt is a great host, who leaves you wanting for nothing. The bed was so comfy and the little touches in the room such as the fridges and the lovely smelling toiletries. Breakfast was so good - a really pleasant start to the day.
Nothing really! It wasn't a problem for us - but the top bedroom has a bath with a shower attachment, rather than a stand under shower.
