Great old hotel, modernised very nicely, good staff, good breakfast. Easy walk from the station (apart from the cobbled streets, but that's totally normal for old cities).

Couldn't really figure out the heating/cooling and the window wouldn't really open. We travelled in December but found our room slightly too warm one night and the heating / cooling system didn't seem to cool us (this could be because hotel designers seem to think 19 degrees C is a good minimum temperature - we in fact like to sleep at around 16C; any higher and the duvet is too warm; this is a common issue in hotels these days).

The location of the hotel is excellent, with both the major sights and public transport within a few minutes walk. The building itself has been thoughtfully converted into a hotel, to maintain the interest and character of the structure. It was very quiet with minimal road traffic and we did not hear any noise from other rooms. Combined with an extremely comfortable bed, sleep quality was excellent. Normally we would opt out of hotel breakfast, but it was included in the room rate and it was excellent. We particularly like the fact that hot breakfast options were prepared on request, so always came hot and fresh. There was also a good range of cold meats, cheeses and savoury dips as well as a wide variety of breads, pastries, cereals and fresh fruit. All the staff we encountered, at the reception desk, in the bar and at breakfast time were friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to return to Delft

A couple of small points which would not stop us returning, but were unnecessary sources of irritation. Whilst there was an area for hanging clothes, it would not have been long enough to hang a winter coat or a dress and there was very little drawer space for storing other items, so we ended up using our suitcases for storage. This is ok for a couple of days, but would become tiresome for a longer stay. There were some elements in the bedroom that seemed over-complicated such as controlling the lights and providing a tablet instead of a telephone. Why provide a tablet, which didn't update consistently and accurately, when it's much easier to pick up an internal telephone and speak to one of your charming staff? It would be a much faster, more personal, relaxing and enjoyable experience.

This is an excellent hotel. Elegant and sophisticated. The staff were exceptional and happy to assist with anything. As soon as you enter the hotel is a calm haven and the staff are friendly, organised and professional. Our room was spacious with amazing floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canal. The air conditioning was fabulous and very quiet. We were able to walk to the main square from the hotel and even my mother who walks with a cane was able to get around to the best parts of the city. We would stay here again.

If I had to find any fault I would say that there could have been a little more variety for breakfast but really still a very good meal. There isn’t a restaurant onsite but there are some tasty bar snacks.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a historic building. The interior is stylish and comfortable. There is ample place downstairs for reading, playing games and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Shower was powerful and plentiful hot water. Breakfast was delicious. Location is fabulous within walking distance of great restaurants. I recommend booking a parking spot as this was very convenient. Perfect place to explore Delft/The Hague and the coast on our bikes.

Wonderful hotel in the historic building yet very modern inside. Spacious room with canal and town view. Very convenient central location. Parking. Comfortable bed and pillows. Good choice of food for breakfast.

I am not sure the idea of serving hot food at the table is the best. We had breakfast 2 mornings - on Saturday and on Sunday. While on Sunday everything was more or less ok, just one of ordered hot food options was forgotten (the same happened on Saturday also), on Saturday obvious lack of staff was horrible. No cutlery and impossible to get after asking, no glasses for water, no cups for coffee, and of course, part of ordered food was forgotten. Absolutely no fit with overall level of hotel and service. Yes, portions are small and if the hot food was served in buffet, you would lose something on food, however, would safe on staff and gain on image. Not that it lowers my general evaluation of hotel as perfect, just some small things needed to make it "absolutely perfect"

We enjoyed the size of the room, the 2 upholstered chairs provided in addition to the desk chair. We also liked the bathroom counter space with the additional shelf below. The toiletries had a nice scent. Staff at front desk, food service, and room cleaning were all professional and kind. Breakfast had good quality and selection. I also enjoyed the quiet decor and the indirect lighting of the room hallways.

The only fault was the lack of a gym or a nearby facility. They do offer a partnership gym but for me, not close enough to the hotel site with rain drizzling. I do think a stash of exercise mats, for use in the rooms would be helpful.

Breakfasts excellent (but see next comment!) Room marvellous. Location brilliant

(1) breakfasts, as I said, were excellent. Even had that English stalple, "scrambled eggs and bacon". But should have been served on a plate,not bowl!.... (2) Hotel name. "Arsenaal by Westcord". What is Westcord?...Looked it up. Couldn't find any reference to street....Slightly hard to locate if first- timers such as oiurselves. (3) Lovely coffee table book "Holland's waterways". But text only in Dutch?.....You must have many English speaking folk who would have enjoyed a multi-limgual edition! BUT THAT IS ALL. OTHERWISE EXCELLENT!

We particularly appreciated the helpfulness of the more than courteous staff. The breakfast was always well presented and provided enough options for us to enjoy a good start to the day. The room was spacious with a lovely canal view and was always spotlessly cleaned daily.

We did have a slight blip at the beginning of our stay as we were not provided with a superior room with a bath which was a pity seeing as I had made my booking well over six months before our visit. We also had a problem with a constantly flushing toilet which kept us awake most of the night. Having said this the next day we were moved to a room which fulfilled all our requirements and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, so the problem was solved.

The building itself was magnificent, tastefully renovated, the staff were helpful, welcoming and nothing seemed to much trouble. The choice of breakfast was good and to my liking.

Upon arrival the entrance to the car park was not easy, as the button on the bollard was not obvious or easy to locate day or night, called reception, managed to eventually gain access and it would have been good if reception could have opened it remotely. The charge of €25 per day for guests seems excessive.

Breakfast was wonderful, and we didn't even order off the menu. The lobby and breakfast room were ideal to sit and enjoy the canal RIGHT BESIDE US!! We loved the location and the parking lot for the car. I had mentioned that it was my husband's 60th birthday and retirement celebration. When we came to our room, we found balloons and a lovely card for the celebration. That was SO NICE and unexpected.

I don't think there was anything we did not like. There could have been someone tending bar during the week, but we managed on our own. Everything was JUST LOVELY! We will definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.
