The location is lovely, right on a beautiful river that leads to nature and a castle. The breakfast was very tasty and full of options. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was tasty! The staff were nice, the vibe was great and we would come back.

(not the hotel's fault) spiders were crawling into the room through the window in troves, to the point where we had to close the windows which made the room too warm. But if you don't mind spiders it won't be an issue for you. Also personally I did not enjoy the coffee, I thought it was way too sour. Finally, for such a lovely hotel, I thought the lack of any shampoo and nice shower gel was odd. There was only a pump of some soap or gel in the shower.

Rooms are very clean and bathroom well equipped. Bedding perfect. The personal is very kind. Various breakfast and very good. The decoration is nice, the mood in the hotel is peaceful and relaxing (nice ballads around) We also highly recommend the restaurant. The owner can be proud of what he did of this hotel :-)

Nothing really bothersome. But if you really want to dig deeper, you could say that the rooms are a bit small (and without TV), the building is a bit old (the facade need to be refreshed/repaint)... but that's not really a problem ;-)

The location was amazing for us, a quiet village and Maastricht is reachable within 25 minutes by train. The train station is only 10 minutes walking from the hotel. The restaurant for dinner was incredible, we had the menu.

The breakfast was okay, but we had higher expectations after this amazing dinner. There was only one cheese option, the jam was all packed in small plastic containers, only butter as a spread. Though, we liked the small bread rolls, the coffee etc. That was the only thing we would optimise in our view. Everything else was perfect!

The location is great, not far from the centre of Valkenberg and surrounded by beautiful nature. The dinner is something I’m glad we opted for, lots of heart goes into those meals. The coffee is a big win, something many many hotels lack in. The bed is really comfortable as were the pillows. The owner is always around and is so friendly, wanting to go the extra mile for his guests.

If you are in a lower room, you easily hear the footsteps of the guests in the room above and although there is tea and a kettle in the room, it would be a good idea to add instant coffee as an option for people like us who wake early.

Very nice staff, very good breakfast and tasty diner. Good value for money. The hotel is neat and beautifully decorated. Rooms are renovated and bathroom is modern. Location directly at the river is beautiful and calm. Looking forward to the next time to stay at the hotel.

Due to the age of the building it is moisy. You hear people through the wall and ceiling. Luckily, most guests are not staying up late and there are no TVs that can make a lot of noise. The matras of the bed was a bit too soft for me.

The hotel is next to the river Geul so one can enjoy the tranquility and the sound of the river. The owner is very welcoming, kind and is always ready to serve his excellent coffee with self roasted beans. The room is very clean, beautifully decorated and the bed is comfortable, all the staff make you feel at home. The food offered for dinner is excellent and definitely a must try.

None, however i think for people that stay for few days, a small cabinet or wardrobe in the room would have been handy.

Firstly and very important helpful and friendly staff. Food was amazing and generous (try the "kiep spies"!) Beers were cold, coffee was wonderful with the option for milk if you like. The setting inside was lovely. The room was clean and the staff went an extra mile to move us to a room with a view (not so common these days). The beds were very comfortable and clean.

Pretty much nothing we didn't like. Rooms are in progress of being modernized which is a good investment.

Everything- we were warmly welcomed to this family run hotel which was full of charming items, and a handmade book to tell you how the owner found them as he refurbished the hotel. Lots of wooden item made by the owner himself, the rooms where light and airy with beautiful linen on very comfortable beds, we had a great nights sleep. There was a fabulous breakfast to send us on our way. Would definitely return if in this area again. There is an Italian restaurant 50mts up the road but you need to make a table reservation before you arrive.

Absolutely nothing it was perfect

Super nice host, unique experience, the owner made a little "book" with stories about the hotel which makes the stay quite special, basic breakfast but in a beautiful room and good quality, my boyfriend said the coffee was amazing, I liked the tea a lot 😜 good location, 20min walk through a little forest to Valkenburg, good bed, clean

The ventilation in the room was not optimal and the bathrooms are very small so not for old and not so mobile people

The owners are some of the happiest people I have ever met. A great reception upon arrival, great view from the corner room and a lovely breakfast. The location is also really great to go on a short or long hikes. The very best thing about this place are the owners though. Keep it up guys! Bonus: there is a great Italian restaurant across of the hotel.

The shower temperature was not very consistent. The beds are great, there's even two kinds of pillows. The blanket was way too hot for me though, it seems it doesn't breathe very well.
