This hotel is a genuinely family run hotel who care hugely about their hotel. The welcome, in English, could not have been warmer. Their concern for their guests showed when they asked about any food allergies as part of the initial welcome. The staff in the bar were equally friendly and helpful. I loved the location, though some might find it a bit quiet - but that's what I wanted. It is just 3kms away from the town of Valkenburg which is a very popular holiday destination and is full of people at this time of year which is why I chose the Hotel Bemelmans to get away from the crowds.. The grounds are like a southern English garden, and the owners would appear to be trying to grow some of their herbs and vegetables.. The hotel was full of Dutch people, many with bicycles.

The only thing I found a bit strange was that the evening meal was served at 6.30pm and everyone had to be there then. there was no choice - everyone got the same, with appropriate modifications for those with food intolerances. It wasn't a problem for me as I had chosen the half-board option anyway. Oh - and the food was delicious.

Great value for money; located in a very quite area surrounded by beautiful landscapes, room was quite spacious and clean. The staff were super friendly! We had a trail race the next day and were allowed to have early breakfast! Would visit this place again!

The room is spacious, and the bathroom is also very large, comparable in size to the room itself.

We were with kids, so we were expecting a kettle in the room for warm water, but it was missing. For breakfast, we were expecting a more substantial warm buffet breakfast.

Our room was spacious with very comfy beds., Beautiful scenery from our balcony. Lovely hikes, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast after an early morning hike. Enough to do in the towns surrounding the hotel.

The location exceeded our expectations, the breakfast was good and the omlet was delicious and fluffy. We had dinner in the hotel the first day and we came back every day because the food was incredible and the hosts were very nice and made us feel very welcome. The location is incredible, you walk out of the hotel and you are on a trail for hicking or for biking. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have a peaceful vacation in the middle of nature.

The wifi is not strong enough in the rooms at times, but we didn't really need wifi that much because we were outside most of the time enjoying the location and the hicking trails.

Owners and staff were brilliant. The food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely like to go again.

Superb location, so friendly stuff. We where very surprised with dinner as it was soo good , we have arrived late but there wasn't problem at all to serve us dinner even there where just about to finish dinner service. So peaceful place and well look after . Overall so nice to find this little heaven on the earth. Well done to all the guys there 👍
