The well located Motel is in a quiet location that is only a stone's throw from Akaroa township. The beautiful Onawe Track is about at its doorstep. The grounds were pretty with lots of flowers. It was the only Motel that allowed us to bring our pet dog on this family trip and we appreciated it. We also appreciated that they accommodated an earlier check in as we were passing by the Motel before heading into Akaroa.

I had read a review about someone having cooked for a couple of days while staying there. Perhaps it was only microwave variety food or pour in hot water type food. There weren't any pots and pans or cook stove in either of our 2 rooms. So just be aware of that if u are hoping to eat in.

The view was stunning, when the condensation was not blocking the view. The sound of the sea nature and native birds.

The bathroom was dated and I felt needed a fan heater, as it was very cold. Both the living room and bedroom windows were running with condensation every morning until night, not being double glazed ment there was a high moisture content in the unit. I recommend double glazing or air humidifier in each unit. The heater in the main room did not let out a lot of heat or dry the running windows.

Loved the location, the room was very clean and tidy. Nice amount of space for 2 people. The bathroom was nice. It had everything we needed for one night stay.

The only thing we found was the bed was quite hard/uncomfortable and you could hear when people were going up and down the stairs quite loudly (somewhat to be expected)but otherwise everything was good!

The hosts were kind, welcoming & responsive to messaging. We loved that we could have our large dog with us (note:was understandably not allowed to remain unattended in the room), and the location allowed for plenty of close walks. Easy proximity to Akaroa & Banks Peninsula surrounds. Stunning view & relaxing spot.

The facility age is clear with water pressure, living area lighting & soundproofing, as none were ideal. Very clean for the age though.

NOT the motels fault, neighbours arrived back early hours of the morning and were VERY noisy, singing and talking loudly. She didn't even have a good voice! Ranch slider didn't lock and was a struggle to open & close

Beautiful views across the bay from both the living room and the bedroom. Thick, fluffy white towels and lovely hotel sheets on a super-comfy bed. Would stay again, especially as my 4-legged friend was welcome :-)

Staff very welcoming and attentive.

Told on arrival that breakfast was not really available at the moment - “Only minimal supplies available today”. TV far too small. Hedge too high to see the beach immediately across the road. Otherwise fine.

THis was a very hospitable place and people running it. Gardens were lovely. It was warm with electric blanket, extra blankets and heaters. I didnt feel rushed upon leaving. and as I left they farewelled me with a wave . and I thought it was great that people could have their pets there with some rules around this.

It is situated close to the ocean. We were in a room with the nicest view of the sea. The little, peaceful location is just a short drive from Akaora. The employees are helpful and kind. At Dauvauchelle, we spent some time just chilling out.

Great location, amazingly clean and comfortable, all the amenities you could ever need and more, and a very friendly staff member that checked us in!

The noise from the neighbours haha! But other than that, our stay was perfect.
