The rooms were a perfect size for 1-2 people! They were a suitable size. Lighting was great. Next to the windows. Aswell as the balcony view! The bar was awesome! Plenty of options. Dinner was great! Also a very special mention to the afternoon manager Rozie? Roz! Her hospitality was absolutely immaculate! She was very polite. Calm. Professional. Seen us through any problems or questions we had! She is definitely a great asset to your team.

Walking down those concrete stairs to the car park absolutely drunk and too many beers deep was very much a struggle!!! Hahhaa. But other than that! Nothing at all.

Beautiful location, lovely staff, yummy meals. Great spot for a relaxing break. Grab a wine or cocktail and sit out on the front deck and watch life go by. Pool out back if you want to cool off Rooms cosy. 100% stay again if given the chance.

For dog friendly venue, the dogs were not that friendly and more interested in exploring the beautiful garden than letting a dog loving traveller give them a good belly rub (Clearly I am reaching for things we didn't like and honestly, trying to provoke a response from owner. Reading the responses to 1 star reviews was partly the reason we booked.)

The most wonderful staff ! Got the best vibe ! Everyone seems genuinely happy in their work which was totally contagious. Food was so great !! Really surprised by the vegan options available but very thankful ! Fab location, couldn’t hear the road in the slightest.

Maybe some of the communal areas could’ve been a little cleaner (door handles / locks). But definitely appreciate this can vary depending on guests staying !

Really nice hotel in the Governors Bay area, given the star rating it has, it is quite a good place and worth staying and relaxing for a weekend. The rooms are nice and clean and you can select a room with either sea or mountain view. The prices are really good and affordable but unfortunately location wise, you can’t take transport there, you need to drive or take Uber. The hotel restaurant serves delicious breakfast and main meals and also has a wide variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The restaurant prices are also moderate and affordable. I would recommend a visit to this interesting hotel, one of very few in the area but really well maintained.

Had a lovely stay in Otoromiro hotel! It was a short drive down the hill after visiting Port Hills. It was a cosy double room with a sink, and could step out onto a shared balcony overlooking the jetty, and there are walking trails nearby. It's above a pub, where I enjoyed a very tasty gluten free pizza. There were some muffled noises from below, but I was tired and it didn't seem to bother me. The room had use of a shared toilet and shower, which were clean and pleasant. Very friendly staff at check-in! Would recommend.

Penelope and team were fantastic, felt right at home. The hotel is quaint, cozy and charming. Location is amazing, right at Governor's Bay. View from the shared balcony is spectacular. Also, compliments to the chef and team, food was excellent!

In my room there is a distinct, unpleasant smell. It was better after airing the room, but as we are coming to winter, I couldn't leave the window/ door open for too long as it got chilly real quick.

Breakfast was continental and help yourself and that was fine for me. I loved the front garden seating area under umbrellas. Loved the view from the front balcony and the sounds of fantails flitting around. Just loved waking up in Governors Bay really.

I would have prefered perhaps some tea or coffee making and a small bar fridge in the room (if it could fit somehow). But downstairs coffee making was available all day so that was cool.

The views from the property were an absolute highlight looking over a picturesque waterscape. The hotel had lots of character and comfort. The meals were delicious andstaff member Molly was very helpful and friendly.

Only down was the people staying in the next room kept us awake for over and hour in the middle of the night talking and what not.

This hotel is wonderful 150 years old! We had the king room and loved it. The balcony overlooking Governors Bay is spectacular. We enjoyed a meal in the pub and the pool! The breakfast was self serve with a lot of food. The bathrooms are shared which I was concerned about but they were spotlessly clean. It wasn't busy while we were there so not sure how it would be if they were fully booked. Wonderful stay thank you!

What a beautiful spot! The view is absolutely stunning, and the food is fantastic. The staff here are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond – they even went the extra mile (literally) to return the sunglasses that I left behind!
