An outstanding genuine bed and breakfast in a beautiful home. The home was clean, artfully decorated and beautiful, wi-fi worked well, breakfast was delicious and many food options were offered. The hosts, Steve and Chet, helped us orient to the city and find the things we needed, supplied a map, made suggestions about possible activities and restaurants, and had top-up cards available for public transit and a local laundromat. The hosts are particularly helpful and charming. One of the very best B&B experiences we've had--perhaps THE best-- and we've stayed at B& B's in many countries.

I loved that it was an interesting historical cottage set in beautiful gardens and a lovely leafy street The hosts Chet and Steve were so welcoming and offered a great breakfast! The location is great for getting into the centre of Christchurch but also the advantage of having a great local restaurant close by (You must book in advance) . I highly recommend staying here! Steve and Chet were so kind as we wanted to do a small wash and when we returned later that evening it was neatly folded on the bed.. ! I would say they went the extra mile:) -

The Cottage is a lovely and cosy place where you're warmly welcomed. If you love jam then you will definitely enjoy the breakfast with many different kinds, as well as cereals, fruit and toast. Different kinds of coffee will be prepared just for you. Apart from having good chats around the house my girlfriend could also have her breakfast in our room when she unfortunately got sick after our flight to New Zealand, which was great. We would come back any time if we're about to return to Christchurch!

A beautiful, historic cottage that is walkable distance to fantastic restaurants and a micro brewery. Fantastic hosts with heaps of great recommendations on what to see in Christchurch. A fabulous breakfast room with an array of breakfast choice and coffee! Also has a small kitchen for guests to gather and/or make their own pod coffees

I feel that the bedroom needs a freshen up. The wallpaper and the paint on the doors need to be brightened up. The bathroom had been renovated nicely

Located in a quiet area of Christchurch. Breakfast was a bit limited, but still tasty with various options to choose from. The hosts were very friendly and gave interesting sight seeing tips. The room is quite dated, but serves the purpose.

Bed had a pretty hard mattress. Investment in a better bed would be recommended. Bathroom area is too small for two people to be in simultaneously. Bed side table only at one side of the bed due to the limited size of the bedroom.

Supporting a family business; we were welcomed warmly and shown a map of the area; we were given restaurant suggestions; breakfast provided from 8-9: breakfast was yogurt, cereal choices, fruit bowl, toast with many choices of local jam, juice, milk choices and coffee; large windows in room that open easily; shower has hot water and strong water pressure; extra electrical plug ins provided; very quiet inside the house; a kitchenette with a fridge, coffee maker, mugs, 2 small tables and chairs; vintage furnishings and atmosphere; close to a local bus stop - easy to use bus system

In a neighborhood so we hear traffic and people during the day; pillows are thin/foam; only one nightstand; bathroom door was very near bed; room was darker than we like

It's true Bed & Breakfast when the host, Steve always take his passion to serve his guest every morning from 8-9 for breakfast. He making a toast and prepare a nespresso copy to all his guest and have a chit chat will all his guest.

I was upgrade from room with share bathroom to small cabin with attached bathroom, it's little chilly as the bathroom have open space at the door. Anyway, It's ok as I still have private bathroom though.

This little gem does it's name proud. Everything fits perfect that spell cottage, the outside, interior, even the cutllery!! Our host were super friendly and provided very good information about our stay and the city. Breakfast was ready every morning, a good start to our day. Free street parking and walking distance to the city centre, just far enough away from the business of town.

Chet is a great host. He has prepared a sheet with a lot of information about Christchurch and the surroundings and a great website with more detailed information. The breakfast was delicious and with other international guests very nice and informative. It was unusually cold when we arrived in Christchurch, so we were happy about the heating blankets.We came directly from the airport by bus No. 8, which stops 3 minutes from the house - very convenient.

Designer Cottage was a great value for Christchurch! The room was super cute and cozy. I loved the garden and outdoor table. There are lots of food options nearby. Breakfast was nice and the owner was very accommodating to my special dietary needs (gluten free and dairy free). He also provided plug adapters when mine stopped working and arranged for my early morning taxi to the airport.

The mattress sagged a bit and was also lacked cushioning; the pillows were flat. (I admit I'm picky.) Though downtown Christchurch is easily walkable, it's on a busy street and much of the walk is not that pleasant. These complaints are minor -- I would still stay there again!
