The perch restaurant was good value greT food and exceptional service. Very happy with our meal here. The receptionist at front desk of Ibis was also welcoming and friendly
I had booked the hotel on booking.com after moving from a cheaper hotel I was staying at fir a conference so that my husband could join me that night. We really enjoyed our stay and wanted to return after our 1 night stay elsewhere when we were cycling. However, the room rate was $70 more per night when I asked at reception. They were unable to match my previous rate explaining that the rates change all the time. That was a shame as we ended up staying elsewhere fir the 2 nights we would have stayed at the Ibis. When I later checked the Ibis rate on booking.com it was only $4 more than the room rate I had previously paid. I was disappointed that there was no allowance made at reception for a previous guest.

Location is very central, so it's easy to access Cathedral Square, the Bus Interchange, and many major city tourist sites. Breakfast starts at the thoroughly decent time of 6am, making it useful for those with early tours and ongoing travel. Air conditioning is outstanding and readily adjustable. Sound proofing bars all noises from outside the hotel. Although one of the elevators was offline for a brief period, it was rapidly fixed. Next door to corner store and very close to other food shops.
Why no artwork in the rooms? Some rooms have most of their view obscured by nearby buildings. Strange smell in bathroom that never really went away. Same hotel chain in Rotorua had a newer feel.

The room was just big enough for us as a family to use. Very comfortable and neat and clean room. I would definitely use the hotel again in the future and will also recommend it to other people to use .
We was just not sure about the parking, it was not clearly marked although it was explained to us very nicely. The parking was also very expensive for only one night. as we were out the whole day and left early. So for the few hours we needed the parking was not worth the payment for the parking.

What a fantastic locations for this hotel, on the outside you'd think maybe it's just.....standard but no inside every floor features beautiful artworks, well refurbished walls and halls, fresh and accessible rooms, and oh my god the rooms have proper lighting! what a rarity in a hotel room!!!!!!!! :D also did NOT expect total black out rolling blinds! what a PLEASENT surprise.
My shower was stuck on mist like setting...so it felt like i was in a tiny steam room, that's about it really.

It was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. We were also impressed with the hotel's central location, which made it easy to explore all that Christchurch has to offer. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and the high level of service throughout our stay. Overall, I highly recommend Ibis Christchurch to anyone visiting the city. It exceeded all our expectations.

Great location, super central and close by to many local restuarant, bar & retail places. Paid parking options available either at the reception or within a short walking distance. Staff were all amazing. Breakfast buffet was yummy with many options to pick from. Bar was equally good and we were able to order cocktails that weren't on the drinks list. Room was comfortable and warm, equipped with basic essentials. Tv also had many channels to choose from and included a casting option, perfect for pairing your own devices.
Bathroom tap was leaking over the bench and eventually pooling on the floor and one of the beds in our room kept rolling around and pushing away from the wall - not a biggy but was a little annoying.

The location was brilliant, we had a problem with the air con and they changed our room which was a annoying but they solved the problem quickly. The beds are really confortable but the shower is a bit small, the restaurant is good but we found it really expensive.
the price of the meals in the restaurant, the bathroom was a bit too small.

Perfect location, great budget friendly accomodation, small but comfortable rooms, super friendly helpful staff. Only downfall is parking- on booking.com it says you cant prebook parking- however when we arrived the pullover bay is full of taxis and the parking needed to be prebooked. We had to park across the street and drag our bags, food, daughter’s medication etc in the rain through a maze back to the hotel. Definitely pre book parking!

The Ibis is just a blocks away from the main city mall, a number of bars just around the corner, and the lovely botanic gardens are a 10-15 minute walk away. Limited parking was available downstairs for $30NZD/day
There are two elevators but one was out of action so there was a bit of a queue at times for a lift. Wasn't that much an issue to us but it could be to others. Most probably will be resolved soon. If the hotel parking charge was $20/day, that would be nicer :)

The location is so handy to the 5 Lanes, right opposite the hotel. Fantastic restaurants, bars, Flying Nun records and so much more. The rooms are good, but as we all know the beds are not the same as we have at home.
There was nothing that I disliked. The staff are friendly, happy to organise a carpark in the basement if available, if not they point you in the right direction to other parking facilities close by.
