The property is in a great location - there’s some shops close by, a tram stop, and it’s easy walking distance to some of the restaurants recommended in Trip Advisor (for families etc). We landed on the day we checked in and were only staying one night before we started our 2 week round trip around the South Island. The family room was just what we needed after a 9 hr flight to recharge, have a hot shower and access to a few good restaurants close by. Parking isn’t free but it’s convenient and was about NZ$20 for the day. Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful too.

Nothing of any significance - it’s a great place for a stopover. If I had to really nitpick I would just say the bathroom was a bit chilly - but the hot shower made up for it. And the room itself and the beds were very warm and comfortable.

Great location to city Center and tram station! Parking just around the corner (take the willson parking and spare yourself some money - it is the same one the hotel is using) , we liked the breakfast and the offer as it was overall in NZ always a bit of a downer to find good breakfast choice, but this hotel deserves a good mention on this. Internet Wifi was ok, I was using the high speed internet as I am Accor member ( just subscribe and enjoy )

Still pricey… but it is the hight season I guess…

Fantastic location. Short walk away from the central areas of Christchurch, markets and botanical gardens. Nice clean and comfy rooms with the added bonus of a heated bathroom floor. Staff was very friendly and let us know the nearby highlights for us to explore.

No parking provided by the hotel. You can pay for parking at NZD25 for the night or NZD35 if the parking is full and they need to use a valet for your car. It can be very tricky to drive to the hotel and its designated parking/loading area. Drive slow when near the hotel or you might end up making lengthy detours.

I've stayed here a few times when I can get a good price on here. It is always comfortable and clean. The breakfast is really good....great healthy variety, cooked, pastries etc. I really like that they have a pillow menu. They have all sorts of different types that you can order from house keeping. I've not dine that as I like the ones already on the bed....but that would make a huge difference for some.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our staff. Breakfast was excellent with good choices and was plentiful. Location of the hotel is convenient to all central Christchurch.

Unfortunately our view was not the best, due to the ongoing demolition and construction of buildings which is still going on it the city from the earthquake several years ago. Not the hotel's fault , but we were not anticipating looking at a demolition site for the during of our stay. The furnishings and carpet in the room are due to for an upgrade.

The staff were the best staff we have encountered in ages. They pro-actively engaged us when we were walking thru the foyer, asked if we were looking for good coffee stops whilst out etc. (Fabian) actually stopped on the street outside the hotel to check on our directions. Other staff over the 4 days came up to us when we were waiting in the foyer, the restaurant staff were delightful & proactive. We thought perhaps this is a CHCh thing but realised that if it is then wow that's some standard they have set for themselves. We don't normally compete these surveys but both really appreciated staff being on the front foot & genuinely so. Well done

The shower rose (on the slider) was crap, wouldn't stay up & kept on sliding down. It was a real pain.

Coffee mugs in bedroom unwashed from one day to next. Not sure if this is usual, check out is contact free so did not mention it because no one asked how are stay had been . Breakfast not quite as good as Novotel Christchurch Airport - there were more options for fruit and vegetables. May be budget is different?

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Always smiling. Great location for the trams and restaurants.

They didn’t mention that the shower was over the bath so it was a bit difficult for my aunt to climb into the bath to shower. I am not sure if you have rooms with walk in showers and I missed this.

The hotel was very centrally located and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants we wanted to visit.

The bathroom situation. The sink being outside the bathroom was challenging and also having to use the bathroom sink for the kitchen activities wasn't great. The overhead lighting for the fold out mirror was terrible so I ended up putting on my makeup using the full length mirror. This lighting was slightly better but still not great.

I had made mention when booking that it was my husbands birthday so there was a sweet treat (macaron) waiting in the room for him when we checked in which was a lovely touch. Thank you! :) Location was great for what we needed. Lovely view of the (poor old) Cathedral next door. Reception was friendly & helpful.

Having to pay extra for parking. Also, I'm not a huge fan of showers over a bath but it was manageable.
