The location was very good.

We were very disappointed with the breakfast. Plates in the ‘warmer’ were cold. Mushrooms were dry, eggs cold, bacon overdone but grilled tomatoes were the best of all of the breakfast we had. Also disappointed there was no note pad or pen we could use. No mini bar and one morning we were away for 5 hours and although we pressed the button to ‘ make up my room’ it wasn’t done. We had to ring reception to arrange for it and go out again for about 90 min giving time for it to be done.

The hotel staff were very helpful, and polite. The room had a lovely view out towards the mountains, so there was a beautiful sunset. Nice large room. Slippers were a nice touch and more comfortable than they looked. The service in Bloody Mary's restaurant was exceptional. And the food..... BEST meal I have ever ever had. The flavours were simply divine. I will definitely going back there to eat again. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want.

There was no makeup remover wipe or makeup facecloth. The service in the bar area was pretty bad. We were considering leaving. But the service in the restaurant made up for it. My advice...skip the bar, go straight to the restaurant.

The hotel is new, clean, modern and comfortable. The room had a large, opening window and small balcony which made the room seem bigger. The bathroom was lovely, with a walk in shower, and beautiful amenities. The bed was large and comfortable with a mixture of pillows. The bar menu was not huge and I was told I could not pick from the restaurant menu in the bar but I found some nice options and they were good and reasonable priced.

It wasn’t far to the city centre but it was mainly residential in the immediate surrounds, with no cafes or convenience stores really close. ( only a 5-10 minute walk to some shops). I managed to walk to shops but as an older, and solo, traveller I prefer to have these facilities right on my doorstep.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room we had was of good size. The hotel was on the fringes of the CBD but it was within a short walking distance to the middle of the CBD. Will be an ideal location if going to an event in the new stadium when it opens.

I found the parking advertisement on some accommodation sites a little misleading. It said there was free parking, along with secured parking at a cost. The free parking is parking on the streets surrounding the hotel.

It was convenient with a car, the rooms felt very clean, although when entering our room the tile floors were quite sticky. There was free water downstairs. The staff that checked us in was very nice, tried his best to ensure all our 3 rooms were on the same floor.

The tile floors as we entered the room was quite sticky, one of the staff wasn’t very polite as I asked him about the laundry room, was slightly dismissive and didn’t look at me as I spoke to him, busy entering info into his computer.

We had a great stay at the Rydges Latimer in Christchurch. The room was lovely and spacious. It had all the amenities that we needed. The location was great as it was only a short walk from the CBD and very close to great cafes and restaurants. The Bloody Mary bar and restaurant down stairs is also very good! We are definitely planning on staying again if there is a room available for the next time we stay in Christchurch.

There wasn't much that we didn't like. The only kind of issue we had was that the shower would flood and water would seep out onto the bathroom floor. The water didn't seem to be draining away very well in the shower.

Very unhappy after two weeks of prior phone calls and careful planning to assist my client in his stay .. our rooms were separated and two of the team were eventually put on a seperate floor which was not ideal for security reasons . Spent an extra 30 mins sorting this out with the duty staffer after it was him that came along and swapped every around to suit other people .. it was clearly stated previously it was all done for security reasons on the notes .. very disappointing

Need to review the parking When asked about parking when booking the hotel in line I was sent to the book on line and paid via visa the only option Then was asked when booking in about paying for the parking but was accepted that i had paid when i said we had come through into the parking area as had paid so then paid for nights accomadation. Then on leaving the next morning settling the account from bar and signing out also wanted to charge for parkimg i produced my visa account to prove i paid . Hopefully this will be sorted and if you aline the booking and parking together

The room was clean tidy, comfortable and quiet.

Not that you can really get this right as it is a personal preferance however, the bed was too soft for our liking. I would check the plug under the TV in our room as when I used it to charge my watch, my watch became very hot and needed to cool down prior to working. If the plug had damaged my apple watch I would have been asking you to replace my watch. (room 241) Also I was trying to work out how to move around Christchurch and I rang to ask if there was a shuttle bus service . The woman I spoke to was very direct and just said no. It would have been nice if she had maybe offered some suggest i.e. take bus 29 from the airport and then it is a short walk to the hotel, or you can ring this number and they offer this service to hotels in the area.

Hotel is in a great location - short walk to a few areas with good selection of bars and restaurants. If we'd been staying longer - I would have used the hotel bar 'Bloody Mary's' which looked really good - but with just a short stay wanted to explore Christchurch more. Laundry facilities really helpful - as we were travelling for several weeks and needed to washing / drying on the journey. Staff really helpful and friendly.
