Our primary reason for staying there was location and that worked out very well. But, the level of super helpful service and support by the owners was excellent - well beyond what we would normally expect from this kind of establishment. Super friendly and super helpful. We are very grateful. Facilities were well appointed, comfortable and convenient. The policy of limiting the total number of guests and providing a lot of space between rooms is a terrific idea. The shared facilities (kitchen etc) and both the inside and outside access to eating and sitting areas were excellent.

Frank and Jenny are fantastic, very generous hosts! I was made to feel extremely welcome the moment I arrived. Their home is lovely with a great stocked kitchen(s), laundry, a couple common open sitting areas and spectacular views. There is a path of stairs down to town, making the elevations easier...a 6 or 7 minute walk. I highly recommend a stage at The Lodge.

All good, clean and tidy rooms and well presented and comfortable communal areas. Very helpful host. Great views over the port and beyond. Plenty of parking. Some great bars and eateries to be sampled.

Harbour Lodge is set halfway up a hill so whilst walking into the town is no great distance, those who are slightly less fit may wish to drive down.

Very nice people who always tried to help out, for example by providing gluten free breakfast food. The view of the harbour and bay beyond was very nice.

Some people, travelling without a car might find the walk up the hill from town, but we were happy with that.

The excellent location overlooking Lyttleton harbour and working port. Frank was very welcoming and an excellent host. He supplied us with home grown tomatoes from his green house and advised us on what to see locally. You can see the Time Ball Tower from the terraces. Own access to bedroom from the outside large terraces, and as we were the only couple staying we had access to the whole of the ground floor area including kitchen, tv room and laundry room. The towels were changed on a daily basis. The owners of the B&B built the property from scratch and have paid a lot of attention to detail, very homely.

The bed was a little firm and small compared to what we are personally used to.

Harbour lodge is located at an elevated position in Lyttelton, quite easy to find, (with GPS). On arrival I was greeted by Frank who gave a tremendous introduction to Lyttelton and its facilities and good eating places. the Lodge was very clean, great facilities and is a friendly place. the view from the room window was spectacular, the room had a sliding door to the timber decked garden area

The curtains gave privacy but didn't stop much light, making it hard to nap We bused there, and it's a steep walk up to the place. Shared lounge & kitchen - Not a negative, but neutral

I can’t begin to describe how amazing it is here. I have travelled quite a bit and this is probably my fave air BnB ever. Jenny and Frank are so welcoming and Jenny goes above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. So kind and lovely people . Thank you for everything

Good views from the seats on the decking but you need to ignore the industrial side of the harbour (.looks great lit up at night surprisingly … very friendly host …. Not too far down the steep hill for food and wine … idiosyncratic decor but fine shared kitchen area

Location is wonderful. A little tricky getting into and out of the driveway, but the views are stunning. Very pleasant owner and lovely house. Comfortable room and bed.

Attention to detail could be better... cobwebs and spiderwebs...a bit of dusting would help
