The room had everything you could need, we enjoyed having a private kitchen which made it more affordable to have dinner in Fox Glacier. The beds were clean and comfy. The recommendations they gave us were perfect, such as the exact times to go to Lake Matheson (for the mirror reflections).

There was nothing wrong with the place! It was an exceptional hostel. It turns out the road to Haast from Fox Glacier was closed, and there were hardly any signs so if this was known to the hostel it would have helped us massively to be told (we stayed the next night at a campsite and then found out about the road closure when we got to it the day after...) However this is not the responsibility of the hostel, so no issues here! Thanks for a lovely stay.

The male owner was great. The free spa and sauna were fantastic. The family room 7 we stayed in was nice and big and backed onto native bush. The room had an outside table and chairs which was quite private

We were in a family room 7, which was probably too far from the wifi router. Although it said there was fast wifi available, there was none available in our room. We had wanted to watch Netflix movie on our laptop one evening but couldn't. The TV in the room wouldn't connect to the satellite channels. This was mid evening, so we didn't notify the owner.

This homey backpackers is a great place to stay in theFox Glacier township. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a hot tub! Ann was a great source of hot tips for where to go and what to do in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed her recommendation of the Lake Matheson Café which had amazing views and delicious food. The family room was equipped with a stovetop and good cookware, as well as an accessible bathroom.

A lovely stay in a double room with balcony and its own bathroom plus shared kitchen facilities which were clean and had plenty of equipment. The setting was brilliant - so close to the town but with pretty gardens and views of the mountains. Value for money - this was a fabulous stay.

All very good - so comfortable and welcoming particularly if you have been hiking etc. If you love a fastidious and immaculate setting - this is not perfect but we loved every minute of our stay.

Excellent location, charming and welcoming host, the exterior of the complex is very well maintained. There is a central kitchen that we didn't use because we had a fully equipped kitchen in the room. The family room is spacious,

cleanliness and maintenance are very important to me. The room requires improvement in the level of maintenance, the carpets are worn, the pots in the kitchen are peeling, and the level of cleanliness in the kitchen requires improvement.

- very friendly guys at the reception desk which gave local recommendations - quiet surrounding - nice kitchen / lounge area - fitness room with little equipment available - bikes (not in the best shape) could be rented for free - single bed rooms for a good price - main areas were heated

- I didn’t see anyone cleaning the facilities at any time and kitchen as well as bath rooms could be a little bit cleaner - If you have no car , only limited options around for tours or cheap grocery shopping - no heating in bathrooms (it was defect)

Rooms were basic and lacked a bin which was really annoying and no table to place anything on. Fitness room was quite dusty and dark Outside door to our room was a bit dodgy and had to be fully checked before we left

Clean room and shared bathroom. Great location, next to a grocery store, several bar-restaurants, gas station and all the activity officies of Fox Glacier. Polite staff ready to help and give suggestions. Easy parking. Very cheap for the prices of the area.

The 2 shared bathrooms in our floor were clean but they had no soap throughout our whole staying. The sound isolation was very bad. We could hear everything from our floor including the sounds in the bathrooms and the sounds from the commong lounge/kitchen from 1 floor below where other visitora had some drinks and played games until late in the night.

Really loved staying at this hostel! It’s super quiet and chill, which was a nice surprise — great if you need to rest. Everything was clean, from the rooms to the bathrooms. The showers had plenty of hot water, which was such a treat after a long day. The bed, blanket, and pillow were all super comfy — way better than I expected for a hostel! Felt really cozy and homey. Would totally come back!

Fantastic accommodation. Fully equipped kitchen. Lovely comfy couch seating area. Amazing hosts - they will wash and dry laundry for $8. Also organsied a delivery of a package for me. Nice toilet/bathroom facilities in the area we stayed. We had a standard double room. Would highly recommend for an amazing price.

The lighting in the room was very dull, so hard to read in bed! But that was a minor compared to the rest.
