We were delighted with our room. There was plenty of space, plus the stove top so we could cook breakfast before hitting the road. A lovely touch was the provision of breakfast cereal, bread to toast, butter, jam and a sensible 500ml milk carton (most places provide tiny capsules). The ambulant bathroom was impressive from a practical point of view. We are fit and able, but I was impressed that the facility catered very well for those visitors who are elderly or disabled. The location is perfect. It's about 200m to the White Pub & Cafe and another to the main road stretch of Cafes. I would recommend Lake Matheson Motel to anyone coming to Fox Glacier.

The location is good, away from main road so no traffic noise. Walking distance to town 400m. Local attractions are all very close by. Clean and comfortable. Room had everything we needed for a one night stay. Covered car port. Kept the car cool from the sun. Had portable heater and a small fan. No air conditioning but not an issue as the temp this time of the year is cool anyways. Washing and dryer available at $2 each. Had mountain view that’s a bonus. Overall it’s value for money.

The room was nice and clean, quiet and comfortable. We just stayed there for one night, and the one thing that I clearly remember is how friendly and helpful the lady at the front desk was. We arrived in sunny weather, and she told us right away to take advantage of it because rain was supposed to move in overnight and there wouldn't be any glacier views in the morning.

Can't remember anything negative. It had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. Would book again without hesitation.

This is a decent motel just on the edge of Fox Glacier Town about 6 kms from Lake Matheson on the road to the Glacier Viewpoint and as a result its location suited us fine. It's handy for the town but we were self catering. There's just enough in the kitchenette to do this successfully but there's only 2 of everything. The room was comfortable, the bathroom adequate - what you'd expect in a standard motel though there were some good quality toiletries to make a bit of a difference. Staff were helpful.

It is expensive for what it is but I suspect that is supply and demand. The room wasn't serviced when we'd asked for it to be though it was on a 2nd request.

Beds and chairs were comfortable Cutlery etc easy to find and enough for 4 people Beautifully clean We really appreciated that someone emptied the rubbish bin after a couple of days, and took away the recycling

Although there was sleeping for 4, there were only lounge chairs for 3 people. Lack of anything to clean the cooktop with (although that might be to stop people stealing the product) Lack of fish slice could have been a pain (although we brought our own, so was ok for us) Television was too high up on the wall - uncomfortable if on couch, chair or sitting on the floor.

The motel was located in fox glacier, just a short drive to Lake Matheson. Very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, but there is nothing much in the area. If you plan to cook, will need to come prepared with groceries. We booked this place last minute and were satisfied with the prompt response of the property managers. Beds were comfortable, apartment was clean and warm. Slightly overpriced but also could be because we booked very last minute.

Very spacious and bed very comfortable. Great location for Fox Glacier and Lake Matheson. Fridge/freezer and little kitchenette handy. We went out for dinner to Betsey Jane’s which was great and only a 2 minute walk. Handy to have the use of laundry services and for a good fee too. Receptionist very friendly and helpful.

Generally very clean but bathroom floor a bit dusty behind door. A great stay overall and very comfortable.

Location was perfect! Short drive to town and walking distance to a popular eatery, Betsey Jane. Room and bathroom were very clean. I personally loved the heated mattress topper. The staff was very helpful in guiding us into things to do and see around Fox Glacier. She also answered our questions about things to do in Franz Josef as we were driving there the next day.

The shower was pretty small in my opinion and my husband agrees. Aside from that, everything was pretty renovated!

The staff was so nice, we had an accident on the way to the motel, and couldn’t arrive before 6pm, the staff left us a note in the office window and the key in the house. She came to greet us in the next morning!! And everything was so clean, the house is so new and full equipped!! Location is perfect if you want to go Fox Glacier.

Reception after hours really easy, room with kitchenette spacious, clean, bed comfortable, parking right outside unit. Value for money acceptable.

The fridge in our unit (16) iced over freezing milk and yoghurt and could not be adjusted and the reception was unattended when we left at 9 am, in fact, we never had any contact with staff.
