10 Cottages were clean, had everything we needed, ideal location for restaurants, shops, and helicopters. There was allocated car parking outside the bungalow. They were excellent with us, we'd booked 3 nights but due to the uncertainty of the SH6 road closure, we were unsure whether to forfeit our 3rd night and move on, as it was a 9.5hr diversion. The staff refused to take payment from us until the NZTA made the announcement the road would be open on our last day

Nice little private cottage in center of Franz Josef. The bedroom was spacious with a little table and chairs outside to sit. Bathroom also spacious. Very friendly and helpful host. Free parking spot next to the cottage.

Although there was a sort of kitchen, it was not possible to cook. Some of the laundry was my working in the general laundry area and we saw no option to get washing powder except buying in the supermarket.

Liked the closeness to the center of Franz Josef. However being a very small town, it isn't hard to be near the center. Close to Callery Gorge and Tatare Tunnel hikes so that was a plus. No need to drive to the start off point. Accommodation was good and the bed comfy enough. Everything worked and functioned fine. Would likely stay here again.

The car parking situation is interesting and the cars are all packed into a small area. A campervan takes up way too much room there so I'd suggest if you have one, to park it elsewhere (also why are you staying here if you drive one??). Like the rest of NZ, there are no fly screens anywhere, so popping a window for fresh air can invite bugs in, but not really 10 Cottages problem. If they put fly screens then comfort would be ultimate. I also may have lost my hat there but couldn't find it. Dark blue with a pirate flag on the front. Let me know if you find it.

All Good. Staff Members, owner and all people are great. Young Man Huse cleaned out room and nice and kind. Amazing place, amazing experience. Very well organised system. Owner is a lovely person and and his team is excellent.

Next time I will book a room with kitchen facility. This time when I booked, all motel rooms were full. So next tinme I will book the same place earlier.

Comfortable bed and clean room and en suite. Staff very welcoming. Allocated parking. A couple of minutes walk to Alice May restaurant which was very good and we went to both evenings. Very central so just a few minutes to supermarket as well.

Rooms packed very tightly together so when sitting outside, too close to the next door people to have a conversation unless it's with them. Our parking was outside someone else's room and they were not happy but it was clearly marked.

The room is very clean and the beds are comfortable. The host is very friendly and offered some local recommendations. Overall, I would recommend and would like to stay again.

The air in the room is a bit stuffy. With the number of sandflies in West Coast, we couldn't open the window overnight. If flyscreens can be installed on some of the bigger windows, that would be wonderful.

Convenient location, surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The room offers good space. It has a bit of an old-fashioned style, but you get what you pay for. The toilet/shower includes several safety handles, which could be very helpful for elderly guests. We loved the table and chairs on the entry patio; it was very relaxing to sit there for breakfast.

Modern self contained unit. Quiet location, easy to get to and easy access to the centre of Franz Josef. Friendly hosts.

The area outside the rooms is gravel, which is noisy if people or cars are moving around very early or late. Soundproofing isn't the best, but the area is quiet so it's only an issue if the neighbours are noisy.

It was an individual cottage close to most facilities. Sadly we were booked in for two nights but only stayed for one but this had nothing to do with the accommodation and we would have liked to have stayed the second night. Although not directly connected but very close by, we ate at Annie May's restaurant and this is also highly recommended

Accomodatiuon very central to restaurants, shops. Bonus that discount for Alice May restaurant walking distasnce, restaurant has amazing food , delightful staff and history. Advantage 10 cottage can get separate accomodation for bigger group with separate rooms ,batthroom etc but does not break budget. Rooms very clean tidy, bathroom had everything needed shampoo ,conditioner ect. great views mountain

Perhaps the table to eat could be bigger bit small even for 2 people, beds not as comfortable
