This is one of the best places to stay, I cannot say enough good things about it. We chose a luxury suite, got the best nights of sleep with firm but soft beds, the sheets so comfy, the kitchenette with everything we needed, spacious & heated bathroom floor with great water pressure, our own lounge with throw blankets, and verandah, all set in a rainforest. There was plenty of natural light but privacy at the same time, we could even hear kiwi calling at night. Loved it!!!

Nothing, I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

The Deluxe Two Bedroom Spa Treehouse was nicely decked out, with two large bedrooms and bathrooms. The outdoor spa was a lovely addition. The location is in the heart of Franz Josef, walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, tour offices, etc.

Rainforest Deluxe is a part of a bigger complex with backpackers and motel accommodation and this grates a little bit with the "luxury" of Rainforest Deluxe. The check-in experience is very "backpacker" and that just doesn't match up with the price tag. Alongside that, the cleaning also matches the "backpacker" experience. The sofas were grubby, there were hairs (pet?) everywhere and everything felt a little sticky. It's a shame because the accommodation itself is beautiful but the standards just aren't quite there.

We had a pleasant stay here and luckily we got upgraded to the one with the jacuzzi villa. We stayed for two nights here, comfy space for family of three in two bedroom villa, everything went well.

The main window facing the road and neighboring property, we would love some more privacy probs with extra bushes / trees, but they provided us blackout curtain so still ok.

The room was clean and modern. The room was on the second floor but there was no floor underneath with a nice mountain and vegetation view from the room and the private porch.

The floor shook when one of us was walking around, which made us a bit concerned. My husband felt springs in the bed. I felt fine, though. The spa and sauna were out of order, which was very disappointing.

The room

Appart from the fact that we had booked a room in the trees we were put in a room for wheelchair The Room was perfect my problem is you tell us delux but service no exist … for example how do you want that the guy of this morning can manage the placement of people in superior rooms, a group of 20 and the checkout alone at breakfast.. you have a big organizational problem you cannot sell a room for 580 NZ and open the reception at 9 a.m. like taxe office.

Fantastic helpful staff, welcoming and fun. We even left something important behind and they went out of their way to support getting it to us. The treehouse felt private and the night sky view and native bush were stunningly showcased. Every amenity we could have wanted was there! Top quality. Yummy dinner too.

Great location and beautiful accommodation. Loved the deluxe treehouse we stayed in, ideal for our family of 4. The spa was fantastic so fun, beds so comfortable and loved the bathrooms!

TVs were a little old, it would be great to have a smart tv.

The quietness, the rooms, the privateness

Was expecting a tree house property with a spa. But apparently not all deluxe rooms are on the top and we got one that’s on the ground floor. Didn’t see the private bath outside the room as shown in the pictures probably due to the room type despite picking a larger room.

Absolute luxury! The whole apartment (deluxe 2 bedroom apartment) was extremely stylish and modern. The kitchen was complete with everything you could need. The hot tub was a godsend after a long day of hiking and kayaking.

We stayed in one of their tree houses and it was well appointed, clean and modern. Location is very good to access trails, and glacier touring operators. There is an onsite restaurant that has excellent food and drinks.
