The location is conveniently close to "town" but better than being in the town because of the beautiful, calm surroundings. The room was spacious and comfortable and pretty (seemed new). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent but could have had more variety.

The loud fan in the bathroom comes on automatically a few minutes after the bathroom light is switched on and stays on for about 5 minutes after using. This makes relaxing in the tub less enjoyable, but I fixed that by using a pretend candle. This seems to be a thing in many New Zealand hotels/ lodges, so maybe it's a building code thing.

Clean room, nicely furnished with good sized bed and room. Helpful mini fridge and tea/coffee making supplies/electric kettle. Breakfast was a nice range of options but nothing amazing Coffee was ok.

Our room didn’t have any windows that open other than the sliding glass entry door. The property didn’t seem to have many bugs, but as soon as we opened our door to let air in we were bitten by sand flies. The curtains had to be shut or we were exposed to the parking lot. The entire property is paved all the way around so each car can park by the room, but I would rather bring my luggage a further distance in order to look out at forest or landscaping.

An amazing place to stay. Just out of town so very private with country view. So private, rooms are positioned so you cannot see others. We loved the massive bed, luxurious seating beside electric fire and dining area. I admired the spa bath but the shower with great force won me over. Breakfast the next day was lovely. The service and continuous supply of ham, cheese, tomato and bread alongside cereals and fruits was lovely. We even left with a take away coffee for our travels. We will be back! A massive thank you to the staff. A dream team and stay.

Very relaxing venue in a nice location away from the busier town area. Super size bathroom - with a bath! with spa bath facilities! Very enjoyable. It was great having a breakfast facility and a chance to meet other travellers. Our French host and his girlfriend were so very pleasant and helpful. It was a delight to meet him.

Nothing really. There is not much hanging space for clothes - a few hooks and 2 hangers but we coped. There is a fridge but the accommodation is not suitable for self catering. No Netflix.

• It was wonderful to have access to a guest laundry. However, fellow travelers might benefit from a reminder of the basic etiquette of shared facilities!! Using all the machines and then leaving for the day is not on!! • Limited amount of places to hang clothes.

Excellent location for all of the activities available at Franz Josef. The room was very spacious with everything you could require provided. A very comfortable large double bed, sitting area with a cosy flame effect electric fire, complete with two very comfortable arm chairs, small dining area/desk and a spacious bathroom. The buffet breakfast had a good variety of items and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The main lady in charge was particularly helpful, especially when I discovered a large king sized throw stuck in one of the washing machines which on removable left the machine filthy. She very kindly cleaned it for me so My clothes weren’t contaminated by it. Strangely enough, on enquiring if any guest had claimed it, the answer was No. The view over the garden “Oasis” to the mountains was wonderful. A very relaxing place to stay and for its location, great value for money

We liked the breakfast and the staff were very helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. and the hotel was a very short drive to Franz Josef itself.

The word "Hotel" was a little misleading, but I think the concept probably doesn't have a conventional term. Hotel suggests staff 24/7 and lounge/bar facilities, which, of course, Oasis does not. However, once we realised what was on offer, we were happy.

Lovely room with view out over gardens and pond, and what was probably beautiful scenery which due to the weather we could not see. The included continental style breakfast was very nice. The young German lady Fransisca who appeared to do everything at the hotel was really lovely, helpful and friendly, a great front of house asset.

It was out of town, which was peaceful, but you do have to drive to get to town. However the restaurant we dined at offered a free pick up/drop off service which was really good.

Beautiful surroundings and garden, our room was facing the garden and it was elegant and stylish, with a very comfortable bed. We liked the atmosphere and the person at the reception was friendly and welcoming. It’s only a few minutes from the township but removed from any noise and extremely peaceful and serene.

Breakfast could be perhaps improved with the addition of croissants or pastries and a better coffee.

Nice quiet area well away from busy Franz Josef village. price includes breakfast reception staff very helpful, pointing out road closure to Haast the next day that could have ruined ours and other guest holiday plans,so rate them very highly looking after their guests as well as suggestions for local restaurants etc
