The breakfast was great—fresh, filling, and a perfect start to the day. The view of the glaciers from our bedroom was absolutely stunning and easily the highlight of our stay. The location was very convenient, just a few minutes away from restaurants/shops and, helipads and tour centres.

The room itself was quite basic and felt a bit dated, especially considering the price. Unfortunately, the cleaning left much to be desired—there were noticeable hairs left behind after cleaning, and instead of conditioner, a body lotion was placed in the shower area. They did replace it after I had already used it on my hair and were apologetic about the mix-up. Additionally, the glass we used for our vitamin C drink wasn’t properly replaced—just rinsed in the sink, as the scent was still noticeable. Another concern was at check-in: they asked for my card’s CVV, which felt unusual and unnecessary, especially since I was able to tap my card for payment.

Franz Joseph is a lovely small town and scenic hotel is rightly located with great views and access to activities Staff was very friendly including akshay and akash who lead the team there . Dhananjay was of great help during the dinner

Food is below average , they can do a lot on food quality, spread and variety. It's a take it or leave it approach in food as most of the time ur booked on half board by scenic and u get stuck. Food was so bad that we had to leave our pre booked meal and eat at king tiger restraunt nearby which was very good. Also, rooms were very small , match box types.

Facility was very clean and the staff was excellent. We had a fantastic view of the glacier from our room and we loved that. The place was within 5 min walking distance from every restaurant.

There was no air conditioning and despite the cool air, you can’t really leave windows open for long due to the mosquitoes. However, we did have a fan in the room that cooled the place perfectly. Also, there were no elevators to reach the second floor. So, if you have a heavy suitcase, make sure you are fit enough to carry it or have someone carry it for you… The breakfast was cold as well as the coffee. I mentioned it to the person assisting with the seating and she said that it was warm despite me telling her it was not. It was over priced cold breakfast so I would not advise eating there. You are better off eating in any other restaurant besides the none from that hotel.

The hotel is in an incredible location and the view from our room was amazing. The hotel had good facilities and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, spacious and well presented with very nice toiletries. I wish that we were able to stay another day but we had such a tight schedule that this was not possible. I hope to return sometime soon.

There was no water dispenser and no lift (although the hotel porters were very helpful with our luggage).

We stayed here for one night on our travels around the south island. The hotel is really well located to the centre of the town with plentiful car parking. The staff were friendly and the accommodation comfortable and similar to the motel style of many hotels in New Zealand. Breakfast and dinner was included and was pleasant. The price is a little higher than we would pay for similar accommodation elsewhere but given the location was good value.

Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. We did have an issue with a nearby restaurant playing loud music. However, the staff at the hotel called the restaurant and asked them to turn the music down (which they did) and as our 2nd night was New Years Eve the Hotel staff also ensured that we could shift rooms to the other side of the hotel and away from the music which we really appreciated. Our rate included breakfast and again the waiting staff were very welcoming and the food was good. Overall, we were really impressed with the customer service.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even made suggestions for their favorite restaurants in our next town we were visiting. They had everything available to us that you would need. A really nice large room with a fireplace. Games to enjoy. Also, to our surprise, they had a washer and dryer that was very reasonable. It was truly handy and helpful. We would highly recommend!

The staff were extremely helpful and nice. Mel, a trainee customer service consultant, was incredibly welcoming. There is lots of parking near hotel rooms. There is a staircase to the second floor. Our room was very comfortable. We had a little balcony overlooking the main reception area and the mountains beyond. We did not eat or drink at the hotel but that area looking very well maintained and cosy. The hotel was in a great location. Everything within very easy walking distance.

Nothing at all. It was very pleasant. Not exceptional in any way but totally what is advertised and a comfortable, happy stay.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Stunning views. Great breakfast. The only downside was that there was a large wet stain outside our room in the corridor with an awful unpleasant smell. Advised staff who seemed unaware of it. It appeared to us to have been a long standing leak with that dreadful odour. Hopefully, they will have it fixed for the next guests.

The bathroom sink was not working properly but didn't inform the management as it was just a night stay
