We arrived after attending the athletics in Hastings for the day. I sent a note with our expected arrival time to the motel. My note was answered immediately with a lovely note of welcome. The greeting was fabulous, sincere and warm when we arrived for our stay for next three nights. The room was absolutely spotless, very well set out and comfortable. It was a large second floor room with a superb spa bath and a separate well-equipped bathroom. The kitchen area was well equipped with all the necessities required for meal preparation. They large bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioner kept the temperature at a nice level. The motel was very close to the shops and the supermarket. There were enough carparks for each room to have a carpark space. The room was cleaned each day and left even more spotless (if that was possible). We loved our stay and will stay again without hesitation. We were also able to walk into the many restaurants nearby in Havelock for dinner (2) and breakfast.

We found absolutely nothing wrong with the motel at all. It was a great quiet place to stay - the staff were fantastic.

Room was spacious clean and well presented hot tube was a bonus on arrival was welcome with a warm welcome and lady I spoke to was polite and could see she she welcome me with no judgement unlike some motels I've been to and been turned away because of who or our aperance at the time all though had paid online prior and on top of not been able to stay we had to wait 3 working days for payment to go back to account it was paid from. Was a great experience with no judgement made I would recommend Te mata lodge and would stay again.

Nothing as far as I'm concern

Loved it, very comfortable staff were excellent, remembered why I was there and had a great chat to me both on arrival and departure. Excellent location. Walking distance to a variety of shops and entertainment

Parking could be tricky, limited spots. And if your on the second floor you have to carry luggage upstairs (owner was nice enough to offer to carry my bag but I declined) may not be suitable for all travellers)

My friend and I travelled to Hawkes Bay for the Art Deco festival and stayed at Te Mata Lodge. We loved the stay at the motel, it was far better than I expected. The two-room apartment was roomy, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was extra large. We really liked that the motel room was serviced every day; many accommodation providers no longer do this. We were at the back of the complex so it was nice and quiet. And the service was very nice as well.

The room was slightly dark because it was overshadowed by the other block. It didnt really bother us as we were out a lot of the time but you did need the lights on in the living area.

The proprietors are lovely. Helped me with parking and even carried my big heavy bag up the stairs for me. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Loved the spa bath in our room. Super close to the shops, bars, restaurants and cafes in Havelock North. Exellent location. Use of the washing machine was helpful. I noticed there were charging stations for electric cars. Lovely sunny room with a deck outside to enjoy the Hawkes Bay sun. The photos don't do the place justice. Would stay again.

Nothing. Everything was great.

The location was excellent - so close to supermarkets, shops and restaurants. It was very clean and the rooms were fantastic. The staff were FANTASTIC! Nothing was too much trouble for them - they looked after us really well and were especially kind and considerate to my elderly parents. And the breakfasts were exceptional value for money.

Nothing

Save Time, stop searching - all you need is here. It was lovely for my mum and I to be greeted so warmly and shown to our room by Fay on arrival, she also had some excellent recommendations for dining which was awesome given our tired brains and hunger. Hotel was immaculately clean and had virtually everything you could possibly need including dressing gowns, plenty of towels, soaps, bodywash, shampoo and conditioner, Nespresso coffee machine, mints, cookies, Sky TV, decent hairdryer, electric blankets and efficient heating. The extras were not of the generic cheap variety either, decent mostly NZ-made toiletries, teas & plunger coffee. These were also fully replenished the following day. Fully equipped kitchen with modern crockery and utensils. The shower had incredible pressure, we didn't try the spa bath. I slept in a single bed, it was comfy. Easy walking distance to shops, a supermarket and plenty of restaurants. New World was less than a 5-minute walk away. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent hosts, friendly and welcoming, she shared a few ideas, fresh milk! Not UHT. Lovely big spa bath in our room, great water pressure in the shower. Bathroom was well fitted out with hairdryer and make up mirror. Kitchenette also had everthing, coffee capsules and plunger. Comfortable bed.

Heatpump was a little noisy but we just switched off at night.
