This was a great lodge type accommodation in a perfect location. We used the onsite parking. It was walking distance from a discount grocery store, and if you go another 500 feet, you get to a proper grocery store. The kitchen had everything we need and we actually made dinner in both nights, having purchased local wines. It's a short walk to restaurants and "town". We had a Superior Studio - Upper Floor, which I highly recommend. We had a balcony overlooking the beach where we sat each morning and evening. Just a quick hop across the street to walk on the beach. At one point, we had a problem where our TV remote control suddenly stopped working. We called to the front and the guy came right up and worked very hard to try to fix it before replacing the batteries and then providing us with a new remote control. Great customer service!

My only suggestion is that it would be nice to be able to get ice from the office, but no ice machine.

The staff member who greeted us was friendly and welcoming. The spa bath was a lovely bonus, and the kitchen amenities in our room were perfect for our family of three. We enjoyed listening to the waves crashing on the rocks just across the road, and the public playground nearby was just a stone’s throw away. Cafes, restaurants, and shops are just a short walk away, plus a charming Sunday morning market along Marine Parade. While my partner didn’t appreciate my suggestion to use the public toilets across the road, it’s always an option!

We stayed in a downstairs room and could hear footsteps from the room above. It wasn’t too loud—just a minor annoyance. Despite that, I’d definitely stay here again, and I’d even book a ground-floor room next time!

Wonderful location central/situated along the parade/foreshore, close to the Ocean Spa pools. Excellent facilities especially the spa baths in our rooms after along physical days playing netball. Staff were friendly, very acommodating - a wonderful team. Restaurants within walking distance. The price for our group was within our budget and we are certainly keen to rebook our team into the Edgewater next year 2025. Would definately recommend the Edgewater to friends and family travelling to Hawkes Bay.

The parking was abit tight/close.

The location is excellent, the room was very comfy, and the view is excellent.

There was some small issues with the room, there was no latch on the bathroom door at all, one night we had no hot water due to the water heater packing it in, no one notified us of this all we heard was someone walking around in the roof for hours would have be nice to be told this was going to happen.

View from the room was lovely. Parking close to unit. Can hear waves when there is no traffic. Coffee cart - Silver Bullet - across road. Easy parking for visitors across road in park carpark. They supply lots of things to cook with and have table and chairs to sit at.

Ranch slider is very hard to pull and lock. Lots of dry mouldy food down side of couch. Fan connected to bathroom light is on when light on which distracts from relaxation in the spa. The wall above bed head full of dust must have been a picture there. The main door is a push button, knob lock, which is the easiest to pick, so not very safe. Patio area right across front so Asians on both sides of me constantly passing giving me no privacy unless draw curtains blocking view. Even a string deterring walking along would help.

Location was good. We watched the sunrise from the balcony. Liked the large bathroom and little balcony. Bed was comfortable. Awesome experience with a very helpful housekeeper. Lots of amenities were within walking distance.

It was noisy (loud cars and screaming kids) and people were smoking on their balconies. I had a terrible allergic reaction. I didn’t love having to share a balcony with the neighbor. Some non caffeinated teas would be lovely.

Road noise was a bit of a problem, but the views made up for this. Sofas - incredibly uncomfortable, definitely need replacing Plunge pool - didn't see this used. The water was clean looking but leaves need removing regularly and surface needs renovating as discoloured Insulation needs improving as general noise heard regularly.

The location is great it is just in front of the ocean. You have space for parking your car it is like a classical motel. Rooms are a bit simple - meaning old school interior. But it has everything what an apartment needs basically. Receptionist was friendly at check-in...watch out for the hours its not 24 hr. When we left we could not find anyone, but you can drop the key into the box. Yes so the location is super great!

Not much to add here. Simple place, bit old school in the design. But its perfect for sleeping. Bathroom is a bit small, but again these are nothing to worry about. The location is cool (said it a few times) and for sleeping its perfect, spacious otherwise.

Great location with beach walk straight across road, bonus having a coffee cart & ice cream store across the road as well. Quick walk to town & restaurants. Nice roomy rooms & comfy beds. . Sofas a little low for oldies.

The toilet seat was very much in need of replacing, flakes coming off it, not very hygienic 😡 Also very noisy pipes or something at night in the walls.

The room was located on the ground floor and the ranch slider opened onto a fenced terraced area with individual small tables for each room and was only a few steps to the pool. The pool was actually really nice for a cooling dip and only the three room adjacent to us seemed to use it. The bathroom was nice with a large spa bath and shower above. I didn't use the spa bath but the shower and water pressure was great and the towels were nice an fluffy. The beds were super comfy too. The beach was just across the road in front and there was a nice café in a silver retro caravan and ice cream kiosk over the road where some play parks were located for small children.

I could hear some slight noise from the room above when they were walking but honestly it was not really a problem and i couldn't hear anything else
