Location was excellent and the room was better and larger than expected. It was more modern and spacious than it appeared in the photos. Having separate A/C for living area and bedroom was a bonus, as was having 2 TVs. I'd like to give special credit to the housekeeping staff who were friendly, efficient and very good at their jobs.

Given the shortage of parking spaces it would be really helpful if the reception staff had some info on where free and/or all day parking was available locally (for example, there are several all day free spaces just across the park behind Woolworths) but the woman on reception (the younger of the two we met) simply told us we'd have to drive around to find one for ourselves. Overall we found the younger receptionist somewhat disinterested, charmless and lacking customer care skills. The older of the two was happy and friendly however. In terms of the room, we loved it but maybe worth noting when being replaced that the fabric on the sofa is highly allergenic for people with skin issues e.g. eczema.

The receptionist is lovely. She was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was lovely and spacious with a pretty view of the gardens on Civic Square.. The balcony was perfect for afternoon drinks and our morning coffee. The king-sized bed was very comfy. Right in town, we were able to walk to shops & café's which was handy. There is plenty of parking on the street and we could keep an eye on our vehicle from our room. We would definitely stay here again!

The kitchenette has no sink, and the bench space is tiny but is otherwise well equipped.

Good location close to cafés, restaurants and shops. Farmers Market in the park opposite the hotel every Saturday. On site parking available as well as a lockable shed for bikes. Very friendly manager who happily helped us book an extra night.

We stayed in a spacious studio with balcony looking out over the park. Portofino restaurant below but no noise problems at all. Bathroom clean but looked a little tired and outdated

The location is very central and walkable to the beach as well as most of the restaurants within the city. The lady at the reception was really sweet and guided us with a some information around the city. We will definitely stay with Expressotel next time we visit Napier.

Our only problem was the TV remote was not working rest everything was lovely.

The receptionist was very lovely and helpful. But twice when we arrived at the front door and had to use the intercom it didn’t work. We were fortunate that a lovely cleaner saw us and let us in

The car park definitely is a major problem. We had a large car that didn’t fit in and there was no space either. I feel this should be mentioned when booking.

We changed our mind at the last minute on our New Zealand tour to visit this beautiful town of Napier. We use Booking.com to find this hotel that sits in the middle of the art deco centre. The receptionist was most helpful explaining where to go and what was most popular in the town. A lovely room and a car park outside. Thank you expressotel for a memorable stay.

Nothing. The hotel was not an art deco style building but it was functionable and a great stay.

The location of the hotel is superb! Merely 300m from the theatre, there are also restaurants, supermarkets, shops, the square, takeaways and the beach within walking distance. This was a fantastic choice for us. We were given the most lovely welcome at reception, too!

The car parking is very limited and tight. This wasn’t a major for us as we only stayed one night but meant we had to pay the $2/hr parking rate on the street. There was plenty of parking available on the surrounding streets, though.

The room was great, nice jacuzzi tub, great location, great staff help.

The parking is pretty rough, hard to navigate the small space and it may fill up. There is free after 6pm parking in a parkade across the street. The gates lock 6pm to 8am though. Also I went to make coffee and when I opened the kettle it had mold in it. That’s the only reason my cleaning rating was lower. The bed, bathroom, and everything else was clean.

The staff - I booked 2 nights at this hotel but thought I had only booked one. So we arrived late at night, stayed 1 night and dropped the key in the key drop off the next morning. I received a phone call at lunchtime to ask if I was staying the second night - and when I told them we were only staying one as I hadn't realized I had booked 2, they refunded offered to refund me the second night. They didn't have to do this and I was really grateful. The beds were comfortable, well appointed, parking available. Close to lots of places to eat.

Location was great. In town close to supermarkets, cafes, bars etc. Our bed in room was comfy. We booked 3 rooms for 6 friends for 3 nights. Very accommodating by splitting all beds so we all had a single. Lovely staff. Very clean rooms. The room with a balcony was our hang out space in down time for all 6 of us as the other 2 rooms were too small to sit and relax.

1 bath towel each. Would be good to get 2 each. Reception closes early. 6ish not 8pm. Satchets of dishwashing liquid would be good and having plates and cutlery in every room for eating in. Some beds were too soft. 4/6 happy with beds.
