I loved the richness of the native timber throughout the establishment. Mario has enriched the place with many artistic & quirky touches. Wonderfully stocked bookcase. And there were lots of nice things left for a delicious, healthy breakfast. Mario was there to greet us & explain all the necessary. Nice view over the bowling green out to the coastline beyond. I almost felt like Drake on the bowling green before going out to deal with the Spanish Armada in the waters beyond.

It's a pet hate of mine. The shower curtain that encircles you then clings to you with the slightest of contact. Then you're thrashing around to get it off your skin. Minor detail really.

Great location, spacious, comfortable with great views. Included breakfast is ‘make it yourself’ but plenty of ingredients were supplied for all tastes. Decorated in an interesting style keeping with an old property, lots of interesting books.

A few minor things: my wife found the semi circular shower curtain claustrophobic, kitchen could have done with a few more plates and mugs to optimise use of the dishwasher provided. Also a sieve or colander would be useful for washing fruit and some kitchen scissors would be handy.

The coffee machine n provided continental breakfast options were excellent n exceeded our expectation. The property was well appointment, quiet n had great views of the ocean n coastline. Tge host was very nice n once he had shown us around on arrival - left us to it which we appreciated. Would stay again.

Beds a little hard for us old girls after a day of yoga.

The property was quirky as filled with objects and pictures which were very interesting.The kitchen was very well equipped making it easy to cook in. We were left a good selection of food stuff to make our own breakfast and was nice to have a fruit bowl again with a nice selection of fruits. The property was a pleasant 15- 20 min walk into Napier - longer coming back as is steep uphill walk in parts. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Bluff Hill lighthouse property.

Comfortable and full of character, we were really happy with our stay. The host was very helpful and gave us some great recommendations. The apartment has lots of art to discover and it was quiet at night so we slept really well. We had stayed in lots of very modern apartments on this trip so we loved the personality and charm of this place. There was plenty to eat for breakfast. We liked being close to Bluff lookout and a short drive down the hill into town.

Breakfast was all ready for us in the fridge- fabulous characterful kitchen with a view. Stunning veranda with comfy chairs. It is eclectic and full of fun pieces. Because it is old the plumbing is a little eccentric and there is a fan instead of air con, but it didn’t matter a hoot we absolutely loved our stay there.

The house is very cosy with a very nice living room. The owner, Mario, loves his bits and pieces scattered about the house, and it works. The kitchen is big with a nice view out of the huge window. He provided milk, butter, juice, eggs, bread, muffins, Weetbix, fruit and jam for a good hearty breakfast. It is quiet and in a nice area.

Mario is the perfect host. His property has many exemplary qualities, the most magnificent views. I’ve travelled extensively internationally and I can assure you that you won’t find a better place to stay. Plenty of healthy food was in the fridge, beautiful soft towels, the rooms were creative, eclectic and homely. Close to town on the splendid and iconic Bluff above Napier. I didn’t want to leave! Everything was 💯 perfect

Mario was a wonderful host. The provisions he provided for our 3 night stay were very fresh and extremely generous. The spacious house is all yours for your stay. Whilst quirky, the surroundings are very comfortable.

The bed provided was not at the level of comfort that we were used to.

Homely, quirky and full of interesting art work and artefacts. Well appointed kitchen and good range of breakfast materials. Mario is friendly accomodating host.

Just the shower. Needs a larger square curtain or cubicle sides to make more comfortable to use.
