Out in the countryside in a beautiful family home with stunning gardens and resident deer only 5 mins drive from Invercargill town. Bed comfortable, lovely towels, lovely breakfast with homemade muesli, stewed apricots, homemade jams, eggs if you want them. Great local knowledge for sights and places to visit. Anne-Marie and John and family are very welcoming. Evenings you can use kitchen to heat up simple evening meals if you prefer to eat in.

No area to relax other than your room, outside table and chairs but weather was too cool in the evening. There was an armchair in the room.

AnnMarie was very kind and friendly. The location was rural like yet minutes from town. We really enjoyed learning about the red stag deer and getting to see them. AnnMarie gave us excellent tips on restaurant for dinner and we really enjoyed the motorcycle exhibit at the hardware that she recommended. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed meeting your grandsons! Bed was very comfy.

Room is small but was fine for a short stay.

I cannot put into words how wonderful McIvor Lodge is. Anne-Marie and John were so warm and welcoming and we absolutely loved being able sit and chat to them at the end of our day. Such interesting people. The room is so beautiful and that bed so cosy as the temperature had dropped. We are already looking forward to returning to stay again at some stage. Thanks so much Anne-Marie and John, McIvor Lodge was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday :)

That we didn't get more time there.

Anne-Marie & John were really good hosts the room was lovely & warm and a ensuite was great to have the shower was good pressure and it was really nice just sitting back and looking at farm views instead of being stuck with town views. Anne-Marie delivered 5 star + breakfast every day throughout our 5 nights stay this was outstanding. The room is a double bedroom with coffee facilites & TV with ensuite.

I really cant fault our stay even with a power outage in the area they could still deliver amazing breakfast. The photos do look like you have abit more room but it was fine for us throughout our stay.

Location was beautiful on the farm with lots of flowers in early December. Room was quaint with a very comfortable bed. Room was clean and well appointed. The hosts were very nice and prepared a sumptuous breakfast with cereal, toast with homemade preserves, eggs and bacon. Good value for Invercargill while staying out in the countryside.

Nothing not to like!

This is a lovely B&B on a farm on the edge of Invercargill. There is only one guest bedroom which is a beautiful ground floor double room with its own private entrance, and which is furnished and equipped to a luxury standard. Anne-Marie, the host, was very welcoming and very helpful throughout. She served us with an excellent varied breakfast.

It was a beautiful location in the south of South Island NZ. We felt welcome and had a wonderful visit, both when we arrived around 4:40 and in the morning at breakfast. We enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast and informative information at breakfast. I would highly recommend this B&B

Everything was perfect! John and AnneMarie were perfect hosts and their property was interesting to explore with deeer and sheep and a beautiful backyard!

From the moment you find it your impression just continues to accelerate. The engaging, hello friends attitude of the hosts, makes you feel you are at someone’s home. The lovely room with the extremely comfortable is matched by the wonderful breakfast. The highlight besides the environment, are the host who are genuinely interested in their guest. Hard to find a better superlative than, excellent.

McIvor Lodge is in a nice quiet location on the outskirts of Invercargill. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and we were given good breakfasts each morning. The B&B was run by pleasant hosts who were keen to engage with us. Overall our stay was good value for money.

One of the doors of our room opened into the kitchen/breakfast room which lessened our privacy slightly.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything from the location being close to town, the room was warm and comfy, the hosts Anne Maree and John were extremely kind, and we loved spending time with them. They every served us a beautiful breakfast in the morning.

There was nothing we didn't like but if I had to say something it would be that we didn't stay longer.
