The bay is like a Paradise. The apartment is huge, fully equipped, you'll miss nothing from there. You'll need to go there with watertaxi, fast, not cheap but worth it. Trevor and Jann so lovely and helpful in everything, kayak, SUP, they have a street food truck also if you want dinner there, but you could grill yourself also. Nice cakes, coffees and small grocery also available there. Highly recommend to escape for a while from towns. The pictures are random, I could upload like 100 😜

An amazing place to stay and enjoy the beautiful surroundings - 3 nights felt too short. The views are fantastic - sea during the day, stars in the night. A perfect spot to explore the Queen Charlotte Track - walking only or in combination with a water taxi - or you just enjoy the tranquility of the bay. Lovely and spacious apartment, it had everything you'd need. Very friendly staff and I really appreciated the regular price level for the coffee and food offering (no "surcharge" given the quite remote location).

Huge rooms, with extra beds, our unit slept 6! I think it was called a sea view studio, which really undersokd it, it was waterfront, unobstructed views of sea and bay, with huge windows, lots of comfy chairs, kitchen etc, big shower. Only tiny criticism was the pillows and duvet . . . Big fluffy synthetic ones, that i didnt like, but sll spotelssly clean, with personality . . . Art on the walls, fresh flowers
Just the quality of the bed linens, that felt a bit hot and synthetic, but very inor detail in an overall fantastic place

Supposed to walk the QC track but our daughter fell ill and so we ditched the tent this section to stay here while her fever subsided the next day. It did not, so we stayed the next day, and the next day.... and eventually we had to give up walking the track at all. Spent our 4 days at Te Mahia and maybe that was a plan. It was beautifully peaceful and just a tranquil place. Accommodation is excellent, very comfortable beds, well appointed, everything you could possibly need, plenty of hot water, friendly owner, could not fault the place. Would come back with family to spend time here again. Easy to get the boat to/from Waterfall. Just an amazing view every day. Good walks up to the lookout where you can see for miles on clear days.
Nothing.

Stunning location with wonderful views from our balcony and right on the beach. Spacious accommodation. We were worried about the outdoor restaurant but actually it was really lovely. Gorgeous setting for our meal. Very reasonable prices. Lovely family feel to the place and lots of thoughtful touches and equipment. Excellent breakfast basket.
Quirky set up with bathroom across the corridor (private for our use) and shared balcony area. No aircon. Some aspects a little tired and outdated but all functional.

Stunning location. The water is a step away and it's even better than the pictures. So relaxing, great friendly staff. It isn't the flashiest of accommodation in the area (in my case although I was in one of the cheaper rooms) but it's views and serenity supersede all other options.
I stayed in the Heritage building which is a fabulous location with the water literally outside it but it is a very old building so has some peculiarities (ie my bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a shared hallway).

I have found a new favourite holiday destination in Te Mahia Bay Resort! The location was amazing set on a private beach, the owners very helpful and we were in one of the rooms that is over a 100 years old but has been modernised, but still keeps some of its yesteryear charm, so very unique and special. And these particular units in the resort are truely waterfront, which was a lovely surprise. We tramped in from Anakiwa on a section of the Queen Charlotte Track for three nights, the restaurant was closed for the season but we had access to a full kitchen so just took in all we needed. We just loved it all!

Te Mahia is a slice of paradise in the Queen Charlotte-Kennepure Sound. The location is a balm for your soul in the busy life we lead today. It is exquisitely beautiful but the locations beauty is surpassed by Trevor and Janet who were exemplified Kiwi kindness. As Canadian golfers pursuing the links, Trevor arranged for us to join a golf tournament at the Nopera golf course. This required a short boat water ride across the gorgeous sound by equally kind and generous Kiwis Ang and Christopher- who were playing in the tournament. While we scooted across the sound our guides pointed out features around the shore which were not in any guide books. Trevor arranged a delicious dinner for us upon our return which put the fresh in freshly caught. Our chefs were an engaging young couple who prepared a delicious meal. This place is not to be missed in any trip to New Zealand.
Nothing we loved everything.

There's lots to do at Te Mahia - hiking, kayaking, swimming - but it's tempting just to lounge on the deck or stroll along the beach and enjoy the beautiful bay. On a clear night the dark sky is amazing - great view of the Milky Way. The apartment is in an old house, rather quirky, with many thoughtful touches - flowers in the room, plenty of towels, beautiful quilts and throws. The kitchen is very well equipped.

For us, everything went well. Lots of things were available for us to do. The scenery and walks were lovely, although some required a bit more effort than we are accustomed to. The staff were very friendly, but not in our face. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the bay. We really enjoyed the meals, but recommend booking as the food truck is small and walk-in meals aren't always possible (although they will if they can). We also self-catered for breakfasts, and some lunches and dinners, so options are easy if the food truck is unavailable. We had reasonable cellphone coverage in most areas. The rooms were comfortable and tidy, and well maintained. The quiet, relaxed atmosphere could not have been better for us.
Internet was intermittent (although this was possibly a very good thing if you want a tech-free time).
