Staff and service were amazing. Very friendly staff. Room was clean and serviced well. Wifi was great.

Basic room facilities for an upgrade to business suite. Photos look bright and fresh online. Room was dark and balcony was not what I was expecting to be able to sit outside, it was too small. No heating of food and no utensils when restaurant had limited menu as it was quiet. Getting a bit old and outdated. They do say they are upgrading. Otherwise room was spacious and bathroom was clean. Photos online need to reflect the room a bit more.

We love pickles the parrot, and the staff are always lovely. Beds are really comfy and location right next to the mall and new world is fab. Only a short drive down to the waterfront in petone as well. We have stayed here many times.

The curtains are way too light, and we faced the garden this time and the lights in the hallway across the garden are on 24/7 so it's so bright you can't even tell when morning is because it's the same amount of light coming in the whole time. REALLY needs to have black out curtains. Also needs to change some of the powerpoints to double plugs as there are hardly any in the room - there is a lamp on the desk that can't even be plugged in as there's no power point in the wall anywhere near it, so kind of pointless having it there looking usefull!

The Angus is well situated, handy to facilities, restaurants and shopping. The Angus also has a restaurant and having breakfast was great. Also, we love Pickles the parrot, he is so cool! As I had a sore leg the staff changed us from an upstairs unit to one at ground level, thank you to the staff for arranging this, very much appreciated. Happy that there is parking available on site...

Something beyond their ability to change is the narrow parking spaces, we have a larger vehicle and it was a squeeze to get into the small parks. But see comment above, we are happy that there are parks available.

The breakfast had a good choice. Mushroom on toast was exceptional. Portions could be better. Room service was improving. Facilities under renovation. Front office Manager ( Cecelia) was beyond exceptional and the best we ever met. Truly exceptional lady! Access to Banking. Church, funeral parlour, transport, malls, police, schools, colleges were minutes away.

The carpets could be changed and lifts installed for easier access. It was difficult to carry luggage up/ down staircase. Room service was improving but Ok.

Room was simple but sufficient. Bathroom had shower over bath - didn't get to use bath but was tempted to. Location was central and a short walk to where I was going.

Light switches for over bed lamps were under pillow and hard to find initially. Lacking power points. French doors opened out to carpark but only from inside. Handy for loading and unloading car, but when coming and going had to exit at reception and walk back to car.

Room was clean and had a door that opened to a garden. The room had two single chairs which was nice to just sit and relax on. There was a table which we used to work on our laptops. Bed was very comfortable and we had no problem falling asleep. Clean, warm and beautifully presented. Location: Love the fact that it is located opposite the Queensgate mall. We were able to just walk out and cross over to the mall for shopping, and to catch the movie on Saturday.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, who were welcoming alongside resident cockatoo pickles. The bed was comfortable, with ample toweling provided. Great water pressure in the bathrooms and sink in the main 'living' area. Strong WiFi connection and great array of channels on the TV.

Note that there is no air-conditioning, however fans are available. Stay was during January (summer) and it was a comfortable temperature for a single occupant.

Wifi is fantastic. Beds very comfortable, with a variety of pillow softnesses which was great (I like a squishy-ish pillow but hubby not so much!) and the electric blankets were amazing. Great location for visiting family and friends - easy to get to and heaps of parking. Restaurant at the hotel was nice, had breakfast twice. Was with family for dinner but the evening menu looked good. Water pressure is INSANE, the shower will massage you into next week!

As this room a new display room, we were asked to comment on it. The things we noticed were, there is no bench in the bathroom to put anything on. There is no full height mirror to check yourself before leaving the room. The fridge is way too small as most of the space inside is taken up by the motor. Even milk was difficult to store. With the above changes this room would be a delight to stay in.

The Angus location is great - just opposite the Queensgate shopping Mall and also walking distance to High street shops in Lower Hutt. The room was a good size and bed comfortable. Staff were very friendly and there was plenty of free off street parking.

It rained one night and there was obviously a blockage in the guttering outside our room - sounded a bit like a small waterfall for some time.
