Location easy access to the main highway, train stop right next door. Ability to use transport was right there if needed. The best property manager (now known to our whānau as uncle) was very easy to approach, easy going and catered to our large bookings needs throughout our stay. As long as uncle is there our whānau will continue to book if we are down that way again.

Parking is quite difficult/tight (large van) but felt secure. There is parking at the entrance of the property (park area) would not feel as secure parking there but there if needed.

We were upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom unit as we had stayed there before. It has everything we needed and is comfy and in a good location. We came home one night to find the manager had come in earlier and turned the heaters on for us. It's so nice to stay in a great place with friendly people who go the extra mile.

It's right beside the railway line so you do hear the trains. However, ear plugs are provided and you do get used to the trains.

No fuss, check in. We had just completed a 2 week tour of Te Waipounamu and unfortunately, the Interislander was delayed, we didn't reach Bucket Tree Lodge, till approx 1am. Our host was very accomodating and made our check in so fuss free. We were grateful to return to a lovely, clean large spacious place, which also had a private separate toilet, which helped make our stay more enjoyable. We were also offered a late check out for no extra cost. Thank you so very much for our lovely stay, we would highly recommend this place to all

Staff were very helpful and friendly when trying to arrange emergency / last minute accommodation when ferry sailings were cancelled. This is a good halfway house to stay over when travelling between north and south island to stay over in the event of cancelled ferry sailings. Facility is conveniently located close to the motorway, close to town for ferry sailings, and was very clean and comfortable. All amenities were good and like new.

Motel location very good, just off the main road, quiet. Family room spacious over 2 floors, for 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Clean tidy rooms, clean linen, kitchen, bathroom facilities very good. Will book same room again. Nearby family friendly park, stream, safe, refreshing. Novelty for our family were the trains passing, minimal sound, no trains through the evening until morning.

The heat pump faulty, stopped working around 11pm, so the room was warm through the evening. The next night the heat pump was working, plus a child safe portable heater was placed in the top bedroom area by staff, and was turned on to warm the room before our return in the evening.

Lovely quaint accommodation. A large studio room with a kitchen and ensuite. It was immaculate. Close to a train line, however this did not disturb us. Off street parking was very secure as we rode a motorcycle.

A different offering of a fresh breakfast would have been appreciated. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, perhaps bread for toast.

Rooms were very comfortable and facilities were good. The host was very helpful and even did our team washing! Beds very comfortable and bathroom great. Beautiful surroundings and close to Tawa and motorway to Porirua. On site parking. WI fi good.

Trains were close and regular. No fridge in the studio.

Needs a bit of updating but nothing major and everything I required and I was very comfortable Manager very accommodating when I had to change my time of arrival several times due to flight disruptions, he had lights and heater on ready for me when I eventually arrived nearly midnight - was so welcoming

I chose this property because of proximity to my Brother and Sister-in-Law's home. I liked the friendliness of the Staff, the comfortable bed and that the venue was 3 minutes' walk from the Takapu Station - so I could catch the train to Wellington and then catch the Airport Express bus.
