The staff on the reception desk - he was absolutely lovely. The Maori lady - I think she was the housekeeper (Sorry I forgot her name) she was very welcoming and assuring that I am safe in this hotel. This was the 1st time I travelled alone.

The glass door/panel at the front. It made the hotel look more like a motel. Also had gang members hanging around the front of the hotel, which I second guessed if I was staying in the right place before I walked in to check in. GPS kept me going round in circles. I think when you book, a note should be added to the confirmation booking advising how to find the hotel. Something small and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Post Hotel. Ryan was very helpful and arranged to securely store our mountain bikes over night. The room was a good size, the beds were really comfortable and it was helpful to have the kitchenette for breakfast in the morning. There are a number of restaurants just round the corner and a Countdown supermarket across the road. The Post Hotel is great value for money. I would definitely stay again.

Just a small thing - it would be good to have better signage at the back of the property as it was not obvious where the parking or back entrance was. However, I contacted Ryan and he came straight away to show me where to park.

We arrived after hours got key card to our room unfortunately it didn't work, so ended up ringing staff manager. Explained to him what had happened. He was there in jiffy help us,Gave us another key card.Even came up to our room to make sure this card was worked,. Which it did . He was very pleasent about it all.😁 Cleaning staff were great and also very pleasent and cherry plus also very helpful. Beautiful sunset from our room last night that we were there. .10 out of 10.

Had a bit of a problem with the TV.Not that we watched it much, just third to last day of our stay, Kept cutting out, which was rather annoying, specially when watching a movie.,Aso when All Blacks game was on Sky 1 live ,it suddenly said trying to scan to another device , Please turn off other device,to continue.,We couldnt as it wasn't any of us,. So ended up having to watch it on Sky Open nearly 2½hrs later.🙁Also mate found the microwave very complicated to work ,🙁so gave up on that.Plus Music from the gym next door was also annoying, late at night, plus early morning🙁

The location was excellent and I love old buildings being repurposed.

The heater would not work properly and it was a miserable night

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. There are 2 supermarkets a few minute walk away. The Porirua cafe and bakehouse was excellent for breakfast and Cobb&Co restaurant for dinner. Both a couple of minutes walk away. I would stay here again if I could be guaranteed a room away from the street.

The location of our room was extremely noisy. The windows don’t seem to be double glazed and overlooked the pedestrian walk way so we were woken before 6am by noisy yelling from pedestrians then at night couldn’t get to sleep until after 1am as the locals or street people seemed to hang around outside the hotel making a lot of noise and playing loud music (Plus the panel heater in the room made extremely loud clunking noises every so many minutes.) if it wasn’t for the noise I’d have no complaints.

Great location with many takeaways and restaurants near by. A major supermarket is barely a 2 min walk away and a 24/7 laundromat is straight out of the main entrance! Some of the best shopping to be had in the Wellington region is only a 5 min drive away! My room was clean and tidy. Everything looked new. There was always a pleasant fragrance when you entered The Post Hotel.

No fault of 'The Post Hotel' - but the next door BFT gym had an early 6:30am Saturday fitness class and the music was pumping so hard that it woke me up - on the 3rd floor!! Thankfully there was no fitness class on Sunday morning so was able to sleep in.

I liked how everything was within walking distance and that the place I needed to be was only a few mins away. I only stayed 1 night but arrived super early than the usual check in time. I spoke with the Team and they allowed me early check-in time. So for that Im super grateful that The Post Hotel went out of their way to allow me early check-in.

Just that 2 of the blinds in the room wern't able to go right down and close. So getting changed I would have to get changed in the bathroom. ( just a small gap

The staff and the amenities of the Post Hotel make for a very easy comfortable experience. The decor is dated but the room is very clean. The location is spot on. I arrived by bus and it only took 5 minutes to walk from the bus stop. Access to North City and supermarkets is a 5 minute walk. Uber to Keneparu hosputal was under $10.

The blinds leak light around the edges!
