Marina Hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in the Lofoten Islands—actually, the best, considering its incredible value for money. After booking a twin room, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was even more spacious than the rooms in some of the more expensive hotels I had previously stayed at. (You wouldn’t believe how pricey the hostel I stayed at near Reine was—and it didn’t even have a private bathroom!) In contrast, Marina Hotel provided a fully equipped room with thoughtful amenities, including disposable toothbrush cups and two ceramic mugs for drinking water. The twin beds were incredibly soft, and there were plenty of power outlets. Each room also had its own adjustable air conditioning, which was a great plus. Additionally, there was a large refrigerator for storing chilled food and a multi-drawer dresser that offered plenty of storage space. The hairdryer was private and available for unlimited use, which was really convenient. Given the price, staying in such a well-equipped hotel in Svolvær felt like an amazing deal. On top of that, the hotel’s breakfast was the best I had in the past few days. Beyond the basics like milk and yogurt, there was a great selection of meat- and fish-based toppings for bread. There were also two types of eggs—scrambled and boiled—as well as a variety of fresh vegetables like bell peppers and cucumbers. Everything was delicious, making the experience truly exceptional. Last but not least, despite being a contactless hotel, the staff responded to my inquiry email early in the morning, which made me feel genuinely cared for. I highly recommend Marina Hotel to everyone!

A little bit far away from city center and major bus stations.

Breakfast was nice and we really appreciated that there was a well-equipped kitchen that we could freely use and that check in was so easy and flexible. Also it was great to have a fridge in our room.

There were no clear instructions on how to sort recyclable trash. In the kitchen there was a sign asking us to take out our own trash, but there was just one small bin that we found. Also outside we only found just one huge trash bin (its location also not clearly stated anywhere as far as we could notice). It would be great to have more options and instructions in this regard, and also to have some more towels or paper towels in the kitchen.

Rooms are clean, somewhat equipped, good location, parking lots are usually available as long as you do not arrive late to the hotel.

There is no insulation between rooms and the building is a prefabricated structure, so you really need to be quiet and also be tolerant to others arriving late or leaving early. Rooms are equipped with fridge but if you would like to cook something, you need to use the shared kitchen. The location is good as in Svolvær but if you would like to have a full Lofoten experience either with midnight sun or Northern lights, increase your budget to find an accommodation somewhere in the most Northern West area of Lofoten so that your place can have its own view. In the summer, almost all the parking lots are full if you would like to spend your night with a midnight sun view.

Its a bit out of the towncenter which means the prices were a bit better then of other hotels. They have plenty of parking spaces altough you might need to search for a spot around the building. If there is nothing left you can park it for a small fee but in the 3 days i stayed in this hotel i have never had to resort to this. Room is spacious and very clean.

I was not necessary dissapointed but i was staying in the semi temporary building. Its one of those prebuild thingies. In the end the rooms were very clean, modern and didnt look like temporary. The floor might make a bit of noise but all good. Some may be turned down by this but i think its not needed.

PARKING: open air reserved spots next to the hotel building directly accessible from the backstreet. Alternatively you are offered to use a paid public parking area, but using a specific app to get the spot for free. CHECK-IN: there is no reception, so you are given a code to unlock the front door and your room door. There are other buildings next and in front of the hotel, also having these keypads and I didn't see any clear name or street number, so at first I went to the wrong door where my code didn't work. WIFI/VPN: works LIFT: nope MINIBAR: yes KETTLE: yes VENTILATOR: yes SIZE: enough, not huge, not too small. Very large window looking at the mountains and the parking CLEAN: yes BATHROOM: clean, a little compact perhaps QUIET: not the quietest room I had, but I could sleep no problem Services/Restaurants/Attractions around: downtown is just around few blocks away, easy walk to there. In the opposite direction you get another sea-front area with a lovely restaurant if you will to walk 5 minutes. That was my choice indeed. Petrol station just few hundreds meters away.

To make it compact the bathroom has the toilet inside the shower box. So if you use them in the wrong order you end up with a flooded toilet and during the showering you have to dodge it as you move about. Nothing serious, I guess this is just a compromise to keep an affordable rate. Parking was more than ok, but in fact it's basically a public area, where anyone can enter, even not intentionally. However the area felt very safe.

The hotel room was very clean. There was a room ventilation machine that looked like an air conditioner. This was very helpful in preventing the room from getting suffocating or stuffy. The room had an attached bathroom. The room also had an electric kettle with tea and coffee. The location was away from the city center of Svolvaer but still within walking distance, close to the bus stand. The hotel had a modest breakfast for all guests.

The beds were too narrow and light, the beds moved if you turned in your sleep. This was disappointing.

A large, separate and well-equipped kitchen. It was great to have our own refrigerator in our room to keep our food. Very good and varied breakfast. Very clean room. We were given a family room, which comprised two double bedrooms - very comfy! Free parking and a short drive or walk to shops.

The shower cubicle was quite small, apart from that, everything was great.

The location was good and reasonable price as for the holiday season in Lofotens. The room was clean. I really liked that it has it's own fridge. So as I come for Lofotens for mountains not for the comfort I could say it met my expectations. In the end you get what you payed for:)!

No air conditioning. I get lucky that the weather wasn't too hot. If to keep window open - noisy (the hotel located near gas station and road junction). Conventional beds - I have always problems to rest in them. Tourist breakfast - everything on basic.

Decent and convenient hotel, clean rooms, breakfast ok, even catering for vegans, parking, walking distance to the city centre.

Although I didn't really mind, but the hotel is totally contactless. No reception staff ever, no person looking after you while eating breakfast. Everything works (perfectly) with codes and numbers, but I missed the human aspect. Also, although the location is close to centre, it is next to a big street with two gasoline stations. So convenient, but not 'romantic'.
