I did not realise that this hotel is situated right on the doorstep of the main city square! What an absolute bargain it was to stay here and such an ideal location to set off in order to explore the city of Krakow. We join the illustrious ranks of Hilary Swank and Sting, who have also stayed here, and have left their autographs in the foyer. It is just a little treasure because it is so unassuming when you look at the hotel from the front. The room had a high ceiling, so gave the impression of a lot of space, and the view from our window was just amazing. We could even hear the regular trumpet call from the main cathedral nearby with the windows open, but we would not be disturbed when the windows were shut. I would also recommend the breakfasts as their menu was lovely to enjoy for the 3 days that we stayed, so enough options and variety.

The only thing that I wish we didn't do was accept the offer of the airport taxi that hotel got for us to take us back, as it was the single most expensive thing that we paid for. I had used booking.com to get my taxi from the airport to the hotel, which was fine. And i should have tried to make more efforts to learn about the local trams network.

Amazing location right on the square, and very handy for the attractions. The room was nicely decorated, and individual. Staff on front desk were helpful and attentive. We had an early trip to Auschwitz so missed breakfast, but were able to get a picnic bag, which had plenty of food for breakfast and lunch.

I think it's best to request a room with a view of the square when you book. We booked a deluxe room, and were given room 36, which didn't have a view, but were offered to 'downgraded' to a standard room with a view, although with no reduction in the price, which was disappointing. We were told we must have booked late so didn't get allocated a room overlooking the square, but this was not the case. The breakfast had a reasonable selection, with 3 freshly cooked options which were the same each day, but the buffet breakfast seemed to be sat out for a while and not regularly refreshed, so looked a little 'wilted' later in the morning.

Great location, beautiful accommodation, very friendly staff. Our room was amazing clean and large even by USA standards.

The location of the hotel on the main square in Krakow is perfect for sightseeing. My bedroom (double room for single occupancy) on the second floor had a grand view of the Cloth Hall, St Mary's church, the Christmas market, and the wonderfully decorated Christmas tree in the middle of the square - arguably the best view in Krakow. Despite its central location, the hotel is not noisy as it is adequately sound-proofed with double-glazed windows. Inside, the hotel is characterful, harking back to a more genteel age. My bedroom was enormous with high ceilings, beams and wood panelling. The bed was canopied and set on a platform - I felt like a queen sleeping in it! The bathroom was modern and fitted with a rain shower and a hand-held showerhead. Dressing gowns and slippers are provided along with brilliant white fluffy towels. I loved having a Nespresso capsule machine in the room - nice coffee to wake up to every morning. There was also a useful small fridge. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel. Instead, we went to Cafe Wentzl (next door to the hotel) which serves excellent breakfast, coffee and cakes.

Just some minor points: The hotel restaurant was being redecorated during our stay, so we didn't get to try it, which was a shame, but not a disaster, as the main square is full of excellent restaurants and cafes. The reception area was bijou small.

If you're looking for the best view of Kraków's Main Square (Rynek Główny), I strongly recommend to make a reservation in Hotel Wentzl. The location is excellent, and although the square is busy until late night, the room itself was fairly quiet. The room is spacious, and has everything you need even for a longer stay, including a very comfortable bed. Staff was friendly, and breakfast fine.

Just a minor subjective note: The furniture and design of the interior is a strange mix of old and new. It seems as if the owners are unsure whether they prefer modern or traditional old interiors. However, this does not diminish the overall comfort offered by this hotel.

The location was wonderful, right on the main square qith room views of the whole square and St. Mary's Basilica. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Gregor, especially so. En route from Warsaw by car, my wife left her handbag (with phone, cash, credit cards, etc.) in a service station bathroom and we didn't know until we reached Krakow. Gregory called service station and, after confirming it was behind the counter, he arranged for us to hire someone to drive the 1.5 hours each way to pick it up.

Getting to the hotel by care to offload our luggage. It is virtually impossible in these old medieval towns in Europe to do so and you can easily fall foul of the police. It's really just part and parcel of the experience, but we parked in a church car park a 15 minute walk away and took a taxi with our luggage to the hotel. All's well that ends well.

The location was fantastic, right on the square. I loved the charm of the hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I arrived at the hotel after midnight due to flight being delayed. I was met by staff. The restaurant was great. Food was good. Great restaurants surrounding the hotel. Very easy to walk to other attractions. I absolutely loved this hotel. As a person who didn't speak the language I felt very welcome at the hotel and very safe. I was well looked after and highly recommend this hotel.

Everything was fantastic.

Lovely old charm hotel overlooking the central square of Old Town with all the little quirks that come with an older building. Location is great for exploring Krakow and the view from the bedroom overlooking the square and attractions is lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was fine (mainly continental style) and the room was very large and with decor in keeping with the hotels age and old world charm. Bathroom was perfectly clean and functional (if a little dark) and whilst not absolutely perfect, overall we enjoyed our stay and thought it good value for money. There are some points worthy of note.

Be aware when selecting a hotel in the town square the noise late at night is likely to disturb all but the heaviest of sleepers. It quietens down considerably around midnight but Krakow can be a bit of a party town so expect a few louder outbursts on occasion in the early hours. Room 21 - The mattress sagged at the edge of the bed on my side which meant I had to try and sleep in the middle more but inevitably found myself rolling towards the edge during the night which didn't make for the best of sleeps. Pillows are ultra soft !

The location is just outstanding - overlooking the main square in Krakow. The room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable Bed very comfortable, air-conditioning very effective, staff super-helpful both before and during our stay

These are really trivial things, but it would have been nice to have a full length mirror in the room, and a better place to do makeup. Also getting in and out of the bath tub was a bit hair-raising, I am 5ft 7, anyone shorter would have struggled immensely

The view and the rooms (top floor) where absolutely amazing!!! You could see & feel the city vibe overlooking the whole square at any time (without being bothered by loud noise). That's what this hotel is about: into the heart of the city! If you love hotels with spacious areas and luxurious receptions look elsewhere. If you want to love Krakow you are in the right place. But the crown jewel of the hotel is it's staff. Marios, Bart, Gregory, you are irreplaceable! I didn't need to search for anything (even though i did search), those guys are right about everything, just ask them. Special thanks to Gregory!
