A warm welcome awaited us. We recently spent four nights in one of the rooms without a kitchen, we had a very spacious twin room with a sea facing balcony which was fab. The room had a surprise mini fridge, perfect to chill some wine & then sit & appreciate the wonderful views. Vila Barca is a brilliant base to explore the island, which we absolutely loved. We had a car which I would say is necessary to make the most of exploring days. Very close by (10 mins walk) are the Cellar Bar & the most amazing food truck, where we ate most nights. Dina was very friendly & although we didn’t need too much help or advice, she was always on hand to provide it.

Honestly, this place is cleaner than most 4 or 5-star hotels I’ve stayed in. Fresh towels every day, room perfectly reset — it almost felt too good to be true. And with the sea humidity? The dehumidifier in the room made a real difference. I slept incredibly well. The room’s big, the value is impressive. It’s not right in the center — about a 20-minute walk — but if you like walking and don’t mind a bit of distance, it’s worth it. Especially being so close to a natural swimming spot and one of the island’s best bars. Pico Island has its own charm — rain or shine. There’s something strangely beautiful about the contrast: the black volcanic rock, the twisted, wind-beaten trees by the sea, and this intense, ever-present ocean. It’s dramatic in the best way.

One small thing: there’s no fridge in the room. And with how generous Portuguese portions are, you might find yourself wishing there was somewhere to keep leftovers.

Clean, very friendly and helpful staff, near lovely natural pools and Cellar Bar

This was perhaps my fault but if you are booking with booking.com, know that if you book a room it does not have access to a communal kitchen. Only the apartments have kitchens. Because the listing says the property has kitchen facilities I had mistaken this to mean a communal kitchen. But we managed in the end as there is a mini fridge and kettle in the room. Properly itself - lovely and staff lovely so no complaints!

Great location and close to town, the owner and her mother were great. Close to the natural pool across the street with a cabana bar and Cella Bar to go eat and have a glass of wine at sunset. The rooms were clean and quiet. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We made most of our meals there. With a few supplies from the store a 15 minute walk we were all set. Breakfast watching the sea was a plus, also seeing Pico Mountain everyday from the property just made you want to do the climb!

This is a nice apartment with direct Seaview. It's close to everything! Great views also of Pico Mountain and the sunsets over Faial Island! The owners are very helpful and give great tips on where to go and where to eat! They also have a winery and do wine tasting!

The noise of a busy street, but that's just a fact, not a problem. The kitchen could have been equipped a bit better if one wants to cook, but overall, a great place!

When I arrived at 3 PM, there was nobody in the reception although it was the check-in time and I had let the hotel know that I am going to arrive at 3 PM. To be fair, the lady in the reception arrived within the next 10 minutes. So it was just a minor inconvenience.

Comfortable room with a kettle, a fridge and a drying rack. Spacious room and bathroom both with lots of natural light. Enough towels and rooms are being tidied every day. Great location at the waterfront, just a couple of minutes from a natural swimming pool. Enough parking and just around 10-15 min drive to the airport. Walking distance to the city.

Location to harbour, downtown, and cella bar. very spacious and clean. Easy to find and beautiful views of the ocean and Faial island.

The only thing that was not good were the sleeping (not the decorative) pillows on the bed. They were small and flat and even with two they flattened too much and were not good for your neck.

The view and the terrace were very beautiful, the location next to the sea and the natural swimming pool is very great. The rooms are big.

Its a bit annoying that there is no breakfast possibility, it would be good to have at least plates and cuttlery to make breakfast on our own.

Good location next to a great restaurant Cella Bar on the water overlooking Faial island and close the the traditional vineyards (World Heritage Site). Room was good for the price, need a touch up but the staff was very helpful and nice. Would definitely recommend!
