H18 is very nice hostel that exceeded my expectations. The rooms where clean, with clean towels etc. and a private mini balcony,+ breakfast included and coffee machine was available in the kitchen day long. The doors had passwords which was very convenient since we checked in Sunday and there was no reception. Joana had provided us the passwords prior to the arrival and didn’t affect (negatively) our experience at all. Overall, I highly recommend H18 as a VFM hostel in Fayal Island. Joana thanks for everything and the hospitality!!

The hosts were wonderful, even helping me with dinner reservations. Quiet location overlooking Horta. Space is clean, bright, and comfortable..loved the view of Pico from our window. Breakfast was simple but very good I enjoyed the homemade yogurt. Definitely recommend H18!

It's on a street where cars tend to speed, so we had to be very cautious crossing the road to the parking.

We loved our stay here. The hosts were super nice and helpful. There was a delicious breakfast in the mornings with homemade items such as yogurt, jams and cake to go along with the other breakfast items. Coffee and cake were available throughout the day. There was labeled spaces in the fridge to leave your items and then kitchen had all of the cooking items you would need. The rooms were nice with a little balcony and great view of Mount Pico. Great location on the island.

Everything was great

Nicely decorated in a kind of Scandi style with a very good size room with a small balcony and a nice view toward Pico. The receptionist was very friendly and gave me all the information needed. There was a good breakfast with some nice local cheeses, bread, yoghurt and more.

The place is located on a bit of a busy road but that has not been a problem (it gets very quiet at night).

We got room 2 and 5 (if I recall correctly). Which I think were the best (first one with a view, last one a bit farther from the road). They were both well equipped, clean and confortable with clim. Ines is very friendly and welcomed us nicely with useful information. Common Kitchen is practical. Breakfast was good and diversified and we loved the daily cake :-)

One way road can be bit noisy and sound insulation between the rooms is not the best. But the neighbours were very quiet and bed very comfortable to make up for it, so all in all a good address in Faial.

This place is wonderful - the staff is lovely, happy and welcoming. The place has all the conveniences you could possibly ask for, the kitchen is well equipped and the breakfast gears toward most tastes with a mix of breads, spreads, fruit and cereal. The beds are wide and comfortable with good quality linen and the rooms have air conditioning, which is well needed part of the year. When you come downstairs in the morning the tables are beautifully laid out in a personal way, according to room occupation, just as should be but rarely is at B&B's. There is a kettle and espresso machine for guests to use daytime at their convenience and even some homebaked goods to go with your cup. The place is a solid 10, especially considering value for money. Even the location would be a 10, if you don't mind the exercise or travel by taxi all the time. H18 is about a 10 minute walk up hill from the coastline and Horta marina.

We had room nr 5 at the front of the building. As H18 is a little up the hill, we had gorgeous views of Horta and the ocean and the island opposite Pico and its majestic mountain. H18 is modern and fresh. Our room was spacious and bright and very quiet at night, with a tiny terrace with sea views. Bed was good and shower strong. Breakfast was nice in the morning, with good nespresso coffee and a selection of bread, cheese and ham, marmelade and yoghurt. Parking is easy in front of the building.

Very very good place to stay. Nice staff. Comfortable rooms. Nice views from the windows. Perfect price/quality ratio. Very good breakfast. Coffee and pastry aveilable the we hole day. Localisation good, free parking but be carefull drinking too much in downtown...steep climbing to H18 worth considering.

absolutely nothing

It was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Definitely a 10 , the only thing was the location . I expected it to be located down on the city.

It took me 20 minutes to get downtown walking . I was under the impression it was like 5 minutes

A great place to stay in Horta. Very handy having the use of a kitchen, especially on Sunday when most eateries in Horta seem to close. The people I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast.

Nothing. It is a fair step up a fairly steep hill from the waterfront but that's the only drawback I found.
