Great people make all the difference! The receptionist at the front desk functioned as a manager. He assisted with my luggage He is an excellent concierge and receptionist. His instructions were clear and understandable. I speak English as my primary language. I speak survival português. Great people make all the difference. It bears repeating. Clean surfaces and materials. smart design. Air Con works. The interior aesthetics (art and architecture) are the best I have seen in a four bunk hostel room Well designed sleeping chamber / bunk. It is equipped with a light and an electric outlet.

Second floor Broken elevator. This could happen to anyone. My 26-inch roller suitcase fits on airplane holds but not in the locker. I see why and how this is so. A small electric fan would be nice in the sleeping chamber as well as privacy curtain.

We were so excited to make this incredible find in Horta! The hotel is in an amazing location, just a short walk from all the best sights. Our room was absolutely stunning, with the most breathtaking views of the marina and Pico Island. The building itself is a true masterpiece, a perfect example of preserving local history. We loved the café, which felt like stepping back in time, and the themed rooms were so fascinating, telling the story of the golden age of flying boats crossing the Atlantic.

Good location at the marina and downtown, a 15 minute walk from the ferry. Spacious dorm that even had a couch and desks. There's also a basic kitchen and rooftop patio. Bunk beds come with locker, power socket and USB charger. There's free wifi and luggage storage. The building itself is one of the historical buildings in the town, I think.

Only one shower and one toilet for a whole dorm. I only stayed here for one night to catch a flight but it didn't feel like your typical hostel to meet people. It is mainly a hotel with a dorm on the top floor and lacks any kind of atmosphere.

People need to know you cannot cook. Microwave and toaster only. No condiments. Not really a hostel (more dorm beds in a hotel) so expensive but lovely. Beautiful view from balcony. Beds comfy. Hot showers. Would be less lovely if full. There is an elevator which is a bonus as it is the top floor but I did get stuck for a bit (it got fixed). I was the only one there; if full there wouldn’t be room to sit.

Central to everything in town, very walkable! Wonderful views overlooking the harbor. Very clean & updated.

I split my Faial stay between rural & city... no need for car while at Internacional. Perhaps wait to get your rental car as it wasn't always easy to get parking nearby.

Location was fantastic, very close to the waterfront, easy access to restaurants etc Room was really nice, large and airy with a good view of marina and pico. Bed comfy. Shower was really good. Hotel looks really nice inside and outside with bright modern design inside and attractive outside (there are some major roadworks going on right outside hotel which will make it more attractive when finished but this didn't spoil our stay) Reception staff professional and helpful in providing information when needed..

Breakfast very basic and not replenished so if arriving for breakfast after 9am, very little left (fruit and yogurt all gone) Staff member said there wasn't any more when we asked. Breakfast room was dark in the morning with blinds closed. Maybe some staff training and attention to detail would help.

I stayed in the dorm. Very good facilities inside the dorm. Air con, locker, reading area, sofa and a view! I have stayed in the mountain huts in the Alps and other countries. This is a luxurious, upgraded version. Even better than the well-managed youth hostels in Switzerland!

Probably due to fire regulations, there were no hot plates nor stoves in the kitchen, just a microwave. But there was a fridge you can use.

Breakfast was basic. The room was very nice with a great view and lovely period features. We enjoyed meals in both the sushi restaurant and the bistro.

Would have liked to option to get an espresso or latte for breakfast since they have a machine. It would have been a little more helpful if they staff spoke/understood more English.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The entrance of the building feels special. There are a lot of attention to details this place has a lot of charms. The bedroom with views on the marina is amazing. The shared room is conformable too. Very lovely with two nice desks and view on the hill. There are two restaurants on the ground floor, including a delicious Japanese restaurant. Yes the elevator is super slow but the staircase is beautiful.

The hostel is on the top floor of a hotel which is a really impressive, well restored building. There's plenty of space in the bedrooms and communal areas. The outdoor balcony faces directly onto the harbour so you can watch the boats come in and out.

No hob for cooking but has microwave.
