Good location, near the port where you can travel for other islands. The breakfast is very good, served in a sizable room. The room was clean, has a minibar and a coffee machine. The mattress was a bit too hard, but not a problem. Parking is available in hotel (from the Port side) and we always had a place to park. We've appreciated very much the fruit bowl which was waiting for us in the room and the small chocolates left - it was a very pleasant treat :)

We've read some reviews before but the hotel exceeded the expectations. No smells, sound proof is good enough and it works. Shower drain was a bit clogged, but not that big of a deal.

My room had everything you can expect from a quality hotel except a few minor caveats. Overall my stay was great. The staff were great and the breakfast had every item I wanted.

I had multiple stays in this hotel and had different rooms. My experience is each room has it's own caveats. For example, one room had a non-working bathroom fan which raised the humidity of my room by a lot after taking a shower. Another one had buzzing led lights which I had to turn them off. One room also had terrible wifi due to a malfunctioning wifi repeater. Once I deplugged it, I had good quality wifi.

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this hotel. It is as close to the ferry terminal as you can get. , The rooms are clean and tidy. The pool has a nice view on Faial, and is beeing cleaned every morning (and they are probably the only ones having a pool in Pico anyway...) You can walk in less than 5 minutes to all the different tour operators (Diving, Hiking, Whalewatching, Rentalcars....) and restaurants. It is maybe a bit dated, but I felt like they were doing their best at being welcomig. They even organise a mini breakfast buffet from 04 a.m - 7 a.m for people leaving early on hikes or diving tours...! Keep in mind that every Airbnb in the area is more expensive , without offering you room service, breakfast or a pool area. If you come to Pico for its great nature activities, and want an easy hotel, thats your place to go!!

The bathroom was clean, but there was a bit of a smell in the sink. Maybe it was just our room, but it was not so nice. Anyway, this was not a dealbraker, just a little imperfection.

We had a nice and comfortable room with a little basket of fruits for your welcome. The room had a nice balcony with a view to the harbour and Faial. In a minute you can reach the harbour and the city centre. There is a cleaning service everyday (if you need it). The breakfast buffet is really big and has a lot of offerings (they even had soy milk and milk without lactose; lots of bread, ham, cheese, cereals with different seeds, lots of fruits, many cakes, eggs, beans and so on...). The staff is very polite. We are not used to big hotels and normally stay at smaller/simpler places so we missed nothing at all.

We are not sure if the price is legitimate but we don't have any possibility for comparisons.

The hotel is in an ideal location if you plan to arrive or depart by boat, as the ferry terminal with services to Faial and São Jorge is right across the street. We arrived in the early morning from São Jorge and left the next morning for Horta. Other locations like restaurants and car rental locations are also within easy walking distance. We were able to store our luggage after arriving early. The room itself was fine, decently sized with a balcony and a well-functioning air-conditioning. The breakfast was large with many different options, but was a bit hectic overall. There is also a pool, though due to time constraints we were unable to use it.

The room and especially the bathroom felt dated and could use a good make-over to bring it more up-to-date with modern expectations. Reception staff friendliness was a bit hit-or-miss. Overall it was a good choice for a one-night stay.

I liked that the rooms where clean and did not smell of damp as the islands have a problem of damp due to the weather and sea. I also liked that the bathroom was well stocked is toiletries and clean.

early check-in was only at 1600. I find it too late as many come with ferry and then have to wait to check-in. I recommend that you allowed to pre-check-in and at least you can then go to the bar at the pool side and wait for 1600.

Great location! Comfortable room overall, great AC, good and clean bathroom. Very good breakfast. We arrived in the morning and they had rooms ready so they let us check in earlier and it really made our day after the long trip we have had.

The gym they have there wasn't open (at least when we went there during the afternoon). Its a shame since we had a few hours to kill during the rain so it could have been nice if it was open. Unfortunately the mattresses weren't the most comfortable, and there was no safe in the room.

Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was great. Very nice breakfast included with a good variety. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good central location around the corner from the Madalena town square. Walking distance to several restaurants and the harbour.

The hallway rug looked like it could use an upgrade but the hotel lobby and our room were well maintained.

Hotel Caravelas has a great position in the centre of Madalena (Pico) nearby the harbor. It is clean, breakfast is nice and the staff is nice too.

It should be renovated.

Location - in the city center, close to the harbour. Very good tasty breakfast. We had a nice surprise in the afternoon - received a basket with fruits - thanks! Room - clean & a small balcony - we had Pico view :) Professional friendly staff - good support with booking a taxi for us in the morning to the airport.

It looks a bit outdated, but nothing disturbing.
