Ideal location to stay in Madalena, just 5 minutes away by foot to the city centre etc. Supermarket is just 3 minutes away, other nice shops and restaurants are just 5 minutes away by foot. Also, you get very nice views towards the harbour area & the Pico mountain. The room & the bathroom were quite big, a lot of space, and the room had air-conditioning. Friendly & very supportive staff.

I thought that there'd be some other facilities available in the room. For eg. a water kettle or a coffee machine, a small fridge etc. so that you can make hot drinks or keep some water/drinks in the fridge. Unfortunately they weren't in the room. Also, my room was located just next to the reception area, so there was a lot of noise when people were around at the reception (the door wasn't sound proof).

They allowed me to check in early since I had a morning flight and the room was empty. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of food. It's a short walk to the supermarket and the town center.

The bathroom had a horrible smell all the time. I had to keep the door closed so the whole room didn't smell. There's a huge terrace behind the buildings with a nice view across the water to Faial. It's too bad they don't have some nice furniture out there to enjoy it.

As a female solo traveller, this was a lovely place to stay. It was secure, clean, the staff were lovely the food was great and I felt very safe and comfortable. I stayed on my way out to Faial and again on my way back. It is within easy walking distance of the town so I had no problem finding somewhere to eat and the only thing which I felt bad about was that the staff carried my big heavy suitcase up the stairs because there isn't a lift.

Brand new in appearance. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Extremely beautiful views. The villa is at the top of the hill. Very quiet as well. Even though every unit was full we only saw a few people at breakfast The villa has hotel like rooms in one building, the other building is completely furnished apartments with washer dryer and full kitchen, perfect for longer stays. The owner is very nice and chatted with us for a little in the evening. This property was well thought out and a pleasure to stay at

We had a wonderful time here as the Villa is just above the city center with a magnificent view of the sea and the mountain itself. It is clean, it has a super breakfast, and the rooms are cleaned daily. Everything you need for a perfect stay at Madalena

The lights in our room - there are several but still it is not so light. But that is a minor issue.

Wonderful staff, very clean and updated room, though I paid for a triple since that was all that was available when I first booked, but couldn't change rooms. But perfect place for families.

The area is very residential with some sort of warehouse nextdoor. You can walk to downtown in 10 minutes, but I wasn't a big fan of Madalena in general. I would've preferred to stay somewhere else on the island or in Horta in Faial. Also, I had major WiFi connection issues which is an important factor wherever I stay. Kept dropping phone calls with the WiFi assist on. Breakfast buffet was average. If I canceled booking then I could only get 50% back. But I booked too close to my arrival date.

A great little hotel just off the centre of Madalena. Everything in town is within a short stroll and the rooms overlook the ocean and the island of Faial. The host Maria is very hospitable and knowledgeable and her pineapple cake is delicious. The place is exceptionally clean, the breakfast more than adequate and the area is quiet. It was my second stay there.

The wi-fi on the upper floor is weak but manageable.

Large rooms, quiet area a 15 min walk away from town centre. Clean, spacious building, outdoor terrace off the breakfast room and 2nd floor but no chairs available. Great view from 2nd floor and above. Breakfast was basic as others have mentioned. Note, there is no bar fridge in the room. Can boil water and make tea or coffee in the breakfast room 24/7.

Bed was hard- my perception. Subtracted a star because of difficulty communicating with someone upon arrival. As others mention, there is no one at reception. I had communicated arrival time via the booking app. A phone number is taped to door but, doesn't specify if one can use data (WhatsApp) to call. If you are a non EU person with only data, it's difficult to contact someone. One morning I heard loud knocking on the door and it was people trying to get someone's attention and apparently couldn't get in touch via cell. I stayed in another place with no one at reception but they were prompt at texting via WhatsApp and asking in advance for arrival and departure times so they could send someone over.

The daily breakfast buffet was delicious. There wasn't a lot of visitors while we stayed, so a quiet breakfast was so nice. The location is perfect, walking distance to the ferry and to the main downtown. The property also has beautiful hydrangeas all over that happen to be blooming while we were there. Cristina was also very understanding while we stayed and allowed us to have a late check out due to my partner not feeling well. I would definitely stay again.

It would be nice to have a mini fridge in rooms.

The view is stunning. At the exit you see Mount Pico. I had a balcony with Seaview over the bay of Magdalena, facing towards Faial Island. It is just a five minute walk to the center and a supermarket is just a minute below the house. No problems to park the car. Nice breakfast at the terrace.
