This is a very smart hotel with excellent restaurant and amenities occupying an elevated location with wonderful views. The hotel staff are very helpful especially for a non Portuguese speaking tourist. The bar and terrace provide a great location to watch the sun go down. There is ample parking and I left my motorcycle there for 10 days whilst I went off cycling. The rooms provide plenty of space to sleep and chill out each with a private balcony and chairs. The bathrooms are equipped with powerful showers which provide welcome refreshment after a day out in the sun. I just loved it!

I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Very nice location overlooking the city -- close to sights and great dinning. The staff were friendly and helpful (I had accidently booked the wrong room and they took care of it without a problem). The breakfast buffet food was really good -- lots of variety. There was plenty of on-site parking. The room, beds and bedding were nice. The pools were nice too!

I think this nice modern hotel caters to bus tour groups -- so the buffet breakfast can be loud and busy, depending on your timing. The hotel also seems a little understaffed. We got drink coupons upon check-in, but waited (that night) for fifteen minutes for someone to appear to provide the drinks -- and when they didn't decided we didn't really need the drinks anyway.

Everything was great. Good comfortable rooms. Excellent facilities with a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, turkish bath, tennis court, squash court and more. Breakfast was very complete and of great quality (the fried eggs and bacon were just perfect). Location is just outside the castle and therefore slightly outside town but that means it has a very open view which we really liked and anyway everything is very close in Castelo Branco.

Jacuzzi was a bit cold in the early morning and Sauna would only open at 10am, which is not very practical because breakfast closes at 10:30. Other than that, all good.

I chose the hotel because of the location and the fact it has electric car chargers on the parking. To my pleasant surprise I was upgraded to a city view room. There was only one AC charger on the parking but luckily there was not much charging going on so I could use it. The room was quite normal with a nice view over the city had it not been as misty as it was that day. The indoor pool is very large and comfortable.

Unfortunately they require you to wear a swimming cap which can be bought at the reception for 3 Euros.

Lovely full service resort with a view of the town below. Excellent helpful staff. Both indoor and outdoor pools. We had the cataplana for 2 people at the restaurant for dinner and it was excellent with enough for 4. Especially in the heat of summer it was a great place to relax.

Unfortunately for us, our friend with a car was unable to come at the last minute. We walked to town in the morning and took a taxi or Uber back in the afternoon after sightseeing. It would have been a long hot walk otherwise.

Excellent rooms, comfortable with all the amenities. The pool area is gorgeous and fun, with many spaces to sit/lounge and shaded areas. The breakfast is all fresh, varied and constantly being refilled. We went for dinner at the restaurant and it was a gorgeous meal (around 20€/25€ per person). The pool bar was great for little snacks and drink. All the staff was lovely and super accomodating. Tons of parking. Great views of the city and the mountains. Can't wait to come back.

I know the hotel since he was build. And i eat and had drinks and coffe almost every week until i left Castelo Branco. Has a great view. Staff is great. The inside swimming pool is warm and is great to be there in the winter. The rooms are big enough. Breakfast is very good and diverse. And now they have a fast charger for EVs!

Pilow and matress for the price could be better. This was a cheaper hotel a few years ago. But if you want to charge this price you need to be better!

Everything from going in the front door on day one, to leave on the last day. AMAZING staff, BRILLIANT service with a SMILE. AMAZING views throughout, very clean and spacious. Great food selection for breakfast, with plenty for everyone to enjoy. Dinner is very nice, too! Nice selection championing the local produce, well done chef's 🙌👏👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 GREAT drink selection in the bar with SUPERB views looking out the window and a nice balcony to seat outside. BIG THANK YOU to all staff. You all are truly professionals from the front of the house to the back of the house. Chef's, THANK YOU for the scrumptious food. The Melia Castelo Branco is well located, in walking distance of the city. The hotel has a nice design and has an excellent view over the city and the surroundings. The room was spacious and the bathroom very nice with bidet. We has a small terrace with nice view over the hills and pool.There is a coffee machine and safe in the room. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Personnel at reception very nice. Easy to park in this hotel. Nice pool. High value for money.

The friendliness of the staff especially on the reception desk. The view from our spacious balcony was exceptional with good views of the sunset. The pool area was clean and user friendly with loungers provided. The half board option offers plenty of choice and the breakfast had many options as well. Plenty of free outdoor parking spaces a bonus. Whilst staying here do not miss a drive to Monsanto a spectacular site where House of the Dragon was filmed.
