During the difficult hours of the general power system collapse in Portugal and Spain, we arrived at the hotel to check in. • No communication, no elevator, no use of the hotel facilities, and no possibility of using the shower and toilet - this is not the hotel's fault. I do not blame the hotel, but the receptionist Sousa Toledo Gonçalo received us with a cold and robotic face, without any consideration for the anxiety we were in. • We are 75-year-old adults. • As a service provider to people my whole life, I would not employ such a person at the reception desk of a 5-star hotel.

Spacious light well appointed public areas. Lovely efficient and professional staff. Great variety and choice at breakfast.

Guests being allowed to place towels on sun loungers before breakfast and leaving them there all day even when vacating the pool area for hours at a time. Several times we visited the pool area to find that many of the loungers were empty but towels were on them and so were unable to use them. This was very unfair as we had paid for use of the facilities but due to the selfishness of other guests we were unable to make use of them. Surely you should have a policy which prevents guests from doing this. If you have insufficient loungers available there should be a booking policy so guests can only book a lounger for say 4 hours.

My family of 2 children and 2 adults spent 1 night in this hotel. It was quiet season so check-in was quick and the staff were very helpful. We ordered combined rooms which were large, clean and nicely decorated. The beds were large and very comfortable (some of the best hotel beds I've slept in in recent years). The breakfast dining hall was nice and the food great. The swimming pool/spa area was located on the 1st floor and had nice views over the sea. The kids loved the pool as it was raining outside.

The only slight issue I experienced was that my room was clearly a smoking or ex-smoking room. The smell of cigarette smoke was quite strong so I had to open the windows in order to try and clear the air. Unfortunately, the smell is likely ingrained in furniture/walls etc and so its permanent. I could have transferred rooms but after unpacking I felt I could deal with the minor issue but I reported it to the hotel as a concern they may wish to address.

Yes, the hotel was very good, and so we're the staff, Breakfast was plenty full, and having an evening meal at the hotel was also very enjoyable, can not wait to stay there again, when that will be that is the question, but we hope very soon, again the staff, could not help you any more than what they could, 10 out of 10 to them,

There was one thing that at the time of staying at the hotel, was the rain, some days from morning to night, and the wind at night as well, those are the only things we didn't enjoy, sorry to say it wasn't the hotel fault, that the weather was not nice, people in Faro has said that it was unusual for that time of the year,

The property is clean and the rooms are spacious with plenty of storage. Great views out to sea. Easy walk to the marina, to ferries and to tours. Twenty minute walk to train station. The staff are all super helpful and pleasant, the spa is great. The swimming pool was out of action whilst we were there but it was good nevertheless.

Erm, it’s pretty hard to find anything really. If I were to be picky I’d say the details should include which rooms have the sun in the morning and afternoon as that could help room choices. It’s on a main road so be aware of that but it’s so handy for everything.

Room was large and comfy with a great view of the port. Staff were extremely friendly and available at any time. Breakfast was great with tons of options, couldn’t ask for more! We were also pleasantly surprised to be offered a take-out breakfast bag due to our very early departure on our last day - this was a nice touch. Pool area is enjoyable; the indoor pool was closed during our stay but we imagine it will be lovely to use once refurbished.

We ate a couple of times in the hotel and the food was tasty, though the portion sizes were quite small. Otherwise, no complaints 😊

Fabulous location especially now the new centre and promenade opened opposite.

Hotel is not five star. Rooms are tired, carpets are frayed, paintwork needs redoing etc. Tiles in indoor pool are missing or dirty. Jacuzzi out of order.

Pool and Sun beds - lovely view and comfortable Breakfast good quality and plentiful. Coffee excellent. Food at pool good quality and reasonably priced . Drinks quality and price . Rooms - large clean and bright and a bath Good gym . New updates to furniture in foyer - very nice

Price to use the steam room and sauna excessive at 30 euros per person , per session. Cost of rooms surely covers cost . Really look forward to using the steam room so was extremely disappointed. Outside Pool not horrendously bad but will need soon maintenance soon with missing tiles and dirty grout . Pool bar inside furniture very uncomfortable / poor quality and not in keeping with the rest of the property .

The hotel is a lovely hotel. We have been going there for the last 10 years. Staff are very friendly and the hotel bar near the reception is so ideal for food and a drink. It has a lovely atmosphere. It hasn't always been there but hopefully they will keep it open from now on as it's a great way to meet other guests also. The breakfast is lovely also but10.30 am finish is a bit early especially if u have had a meal d night before. A bit later would be much better. Maybe introduce brunch up to 12 noon. Overall this is a really lovely hotel and would totally recommend it.

Only one thing. The room we stayed in was lovely as always but it does need to be re decorated and updated in parts especially the walls. Other than the room needing to be updated decorating wise, one could not fault this hotel.

This was a great location in beautiful Olhão, looking at the water and walking distance to everything. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly, especially in the breakfast dining room. The breakfasts were wonderful; I loved the hot boiled eggs in the buffet and the option to order poached or scrambled; lots of really good bread choices and tasty pastries for fun. The only thing to dampen our delight with the hotel is the fact that the main pool was closed for renovations - it just would have been nice to know that when we booked. But otherwise, all great.
