Room wasn't ready but we were early so they kept our large cases behind reception. On arrival the TV greeting was in the wrong name - phoned reception who assured me we had the right room. Asked them to phone the spa in the hotel to see if we could hire beach towels and he never came back to me, so we bought some in town. Large spacious apartments and good view.

Signs and notices stress that the hotel guests use the hotel and apartment guests use the apartments and there was no attempt to upsell or integrate where they could have sold breakfast or meal options. Cleaning is non existent. Bins in toilets were not emptied and towels changed only once. No ice tray in the freezer or comp bottle of water on arrival

The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and the spacious size was especially convenient with two small children. We booked half board, which we did not regret at all. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we especially appreciated that there was a kids’ corner at dinner every day. The selection was varied enough while still perfectly suited to children’s tastes. We also really enjoyed the pool belonging to the apartment – despite the good weather, it was never crowded, which was a big plus for us.

It was quite difficult to find parking in the area, we had to search for quite a while every evening.

The whole experience was exemplary. The lady at reception was a delight, and a young man showed me around the apartment before I committed to booking. The apartment was AMAZING! The lift served just 2 apartments on each floor and opened into a small lobby. the front door opened into a hallway, then double doors led into the HUGE lounge/dining room with large flat screen TV. The lounge led to the balcony, with views of Olhao Marina and Ria Formosa, with the islands in the distance. The kitchen was well equipped with Neff appliances and everything you require. A twin room with ensuite shower room and large double room with another ensuite bathroom, both with built-in double wardrobes. Electronic shutters ensured complete darkness at night. WiFi was good throughout. Plenty of free parking outside.

Staff at the hotel were very nice. Our apartment was conveniently close to the hotel and to the main strip for restaurants. Beautiful view of the marina.

It would be great if there were some small kitchen accessories - kitchen paper, a few dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid etc.

Reception Staff at Real Marina Hotel (who manage the apartment) were excellent. They are point of contact for any issues. Hotel facilities are all available in Real Marina Hotel at extra cost. We were given a 3 bed apartment (we paid for a 2 bed) which was clean and very spacious. We had a balcony with furniture outside. Pool area was pleasant to sit around on the roof, even in January !!

Spotlessly clean kitchen had new stainless steel pots and pans. A 'non-stick' frying pan would have made cooking easier. Grill pan was missing from oven/grill, but one was quickly provided by the cleaner after a call to Reception at the Hotel next door. Guests will need to bring/purchase the usual salt/pepper/oil/tinfoil/dishwasher tabs (although there was 1 tablet in the dishwasher) There is a unit space in the kitchen for a washing machine to sit, but no washing machine is provided for use. That said, there is a laundry in the block that can be used for extended stays.

The property is located in a easily accessible area of Olhao within easy walking distance of local bars and restaurants, we chose self catering and there are a few choices of supermarket within easy walking distance of the property,there are choices of fresh produce from the local market such as Vegetables ,meat and a wide range of fresh fish and the selection of fresh bread and pastries is eye-opening. A short ferry hop and you are on tranquil beaches with no vehicles ,the locals are very friendly and welcoming . We had a wonderful relaxing holiday .

I have been coming here for 10 years ,love the apartment and how clean it is

The rooftop pool was not that clean,needs to be painted around pool area and deck chairs broke.

Large, cool rooms with excellent air conditioning. Rooftop pool perfect for children, though could have had more umbrellas for shade. Staff at hotel delightful and helpful. Very clean. Good location.

Not enough provisions. Towels good, but no basics - dishwasher tablets, bin liners, tea towels, kitchen utensils (e.g spatula/colander), or salt/pepper, etc. Cork screw broke. Also more information about recycling/ferries/local attractions would have been helpful. Occasionally noisy.

The keys to the apartments can be collected at the reception of the neighboring large hotel with a similar name, which is quite comfortable. The apartment is very, large, comfortable, for a family of 4 even comfortable. Additionally, the receptionist was very helpful and changed us an apartment without a sea view to an apartment with a view for the same price. The facility is directly on the promenade by the waterfront, close to nice pubs, bars and restaurants.

The kitchen lacked some dishes, pans, etc. Additionally, the description of the property should specify that only some apartments have an actual sea view, from most of them you would have to have a giraffe's neck to see the seashore. Additionally, there is no beach in the area at all and you either have to take a ferry to the nearest (sincerely charming) islands or drive a few kilometers. The swimming pool on the roof, quite small, with cold water and not very clean.

Spacious & comfortable. Love the fact that the apartments give access to support from the hotel reception, who are excellent. The location - right opposite the Marina- is great.

We've stayed here before, and found that apart from plenty of cutlery & crockery. the kitchen equipment is very limited. Lots of huge pans, but no small ones, no colander or sieve, very few cooking utensils, one serving bowl but no bowls or jugs for food prep- all made self catering a bit of a challenge.
