The hostess, Sandra, is wonderful person, preparing delicious breakfast, accomodating to personal needs, and taking time to talk about the area and about life in general. The common spaces are attractive, comfortable and allow privacy when needed. The garden space is simply beautiful, the kitchen is available for use, if needed, and there is an honesty drink & snack bar. The room was nice and spacious, well equipped and clean. All the rooms are themed around art - dance, music, writing, painting. There's really a nice unique touch to this place! The area is beautiful, close to nature and close to shops and attractions.

We spent two nights at Refúgio das Artes and wish we stayed longer. The place is a little piece of heaven, just perfect for the piece and quiet we were looking for after our stay in Lisbon. Our room was spotless and very cosy, the beautiful garden and the swimming pool perfect to indulge in a good book and a glass of wine. Sandra, the host, is a dote; welcoming and helpful. Breakfast 10/10. Definitely recommend. *****

Lovely guesthouse with spacious outdoor areas and lovely indoor spaces also. Our host was welcoming and responsive. The common areas are beautifully decorated, and our host gave many, many recommendations for nearby dining. The house is a 5 minute walk from a small grocery store, and there is a shared kitchen area if you want to prepare a meal or snacks. We stayed in the writer's room and loved it. Our bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the outdoor balcony was lovely. We awoke both mornings to the sound of birds singing-- it is a beautiful area and perfectly situated for walks in nature and the surrounding areas. We LOVED our stay and hope to return again.

Sandra was a wonderful host, making sure that guests had a great stay. The house is full of thoughtful little details that give it a unique charm. It’s set back from the road with a peaceful outdoor area, creating a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was also delicious!

I could hear snoring from the neighboring room throughout the night.

The property is an artistic heaven, with a personalised room house, with an ambience music and scents everywhere. Great host, answering to all your needs, ready to prepare your breakfast, to recommend you restaurants and things to absolutely see in the area. We really enjoyed the quiet countryside, where you can reconnect with nature, get energised for the agitated Lisbon and just take your time to enjoy it. You need a car to reach the property.

Everything was so comfortable and the attention to details is exquisite. The bedrooms have Art "themes" such as 'Memory', 'Writing', 'Music' and 'Movement'. They are beautifully decorated. Breakfast was perfect, arranged by the glass window with the sounds of water and nature to keep you company. The details of it were so welcoming (the emoji stickers on the tableware's packet, the tiny pots, the Thermos). It was such a calm place to stay and relax. We absolutely loved it! There are two lagoons nearby which are stunning!

The issue is the location is a bit remote and on sundays its hard to find an open restaurant nearby. However the location was incredible peaceful and more of a getaway quiet nature spot.

We had a lovely stay in Refugio des Artes. Julio was an amazing host, made us feel very welcome from arrival and was very helpful in planning the exploration of local sights. Place is located in a quiet village but a lot of very interesting sights are easily reached by car. Place was very clean and had a lovely artistic vibe. Highly recommend if you want to stay a bit further away from the biggest tourist crowds.

Very inviting communal spaces and large rooms that were themed. Ours was the dancing room. The hosts were great and you can choose what you get for breakfast. Art everywhere, and a beautiful patio space for hanging out. Thank you for the lovely stay!

The owner was so welcoming and friendly! The room we had was super cosy and clean. Beds were comfortable, shower was good too. I loved the area in general, it’s a very lovely place with a lot to see for nature lovers. We loved the breakfast too, we could choose from a lot of options and everything was very tasty!

it was quite cold at night, as we went there in February, but with an extra blanket that we had in the room it was fine
