Large 2 bedroom apartment with 3 decks/ patios. Washer! Fully stocked and well appointed kitchen! Jet bath. Towels were acceptable and sheets were comfortable. Excellent shower. All rooms of generous and comfortable sizes. Stairs were easy for healthy people to navigate - wide, not too high, sturdy railing! two generous size children’s pools and a nice size common pool.

Beds were covered with a disgusting plastic bed pad. Pillows were hard. If you don’t like to walk ask for a unit at the bottom of the hill, also, you can hear the waves from these units. Pools not heated and no hot tub in pool area…

What a lovely stay we had at Vila Luz. As it was the first time we visited Algarve this place is so nice. Breakfast is just extraordinary, with fresh fruits, cakes/pancakes (it changes daily), croissants, eggs/bacon,.. and good coffee. Our room (studio ground floor overlooking swimming pool and own big terrace with stretchers in front) was very well decorated and totally new, with a fully fletch kitchen and a very good bed and badroom, enough storage for clotes as well. Regarding the area we will definitely go back as well, because we love the quietness of the place, I can imagine that more to the east it becomes more packed and built, here not. The manager of the hotel is very helpful for ideas to visit and when (regarding the weather), on hikes at the costa vicentina, so lovely ! We were there with our own car and this is definitely what you need to go to the surroundings, because Luz is small, but Lagos is only 7km away.

Although we stayed 6 nights, I would have preferred to stay longer !

Ticked all the boxes! And then some We’ve been coming to the Algarve for a while and love it here, this our first stay at Vila Luz did not disappoint . We were looking for; peace and quiet, a pool, no fuss and found this hotel was absolutely perfect. The rooms are spacious studios with facilities for cooking and fridges etc. first floor ones offer a sea view and all seem to have a generous balcony. The hotel is in a quiet residential area a 15 minute walk into Luz, which has a good range of bars and restaurants a nice beach and supermarkets etc. (although these seemed pricy) Wonderful staff - Miguel & Joel and the rest of the team run a relaxed and efficient service always available for any drinks snacks and help - for example a lightbulb we needed changing was attended to immediately. The place is nicely designed with a modernist vibe and decor with a spacious lounge, bar and poolside eating decking. Breakfast was a simple buffet arrangement with enough choice and plenty of replenishment. Good coffee! Snacks and light meals & pizzas are available as were cocktails. The hotels grounds are pleasant, a couple of minutes walk and you are on the cliff path. We will definitely be back.

Good choice of breakfast, lovely fruit. Staff a bit slow to clear tables but happy to do once requested. Pool cold but got used to it. Top pool smaller and warmer. Room view outstanding. Housekeeping was excellent on a daily basis with cheerful staff. Maintenance extremely efficient when required. WiFi amazing, available everywhere and no password. Staff always obliging when asked. Walk in and out to town was basically flat, lots of hikers. Could not fault this hotel, came for rest and relaxation, definitely a good choice. Only has 31 rooms so very quiet, no towels on sunbeds! We had 3 aspects from our room with a lovely sunny balcony in the morning. Only used the fridge and the kettle in the kitchenette but very well stocked if you wanted to cook. A true gem in Luz. Would definitely return. Shower was like standing under Niagra Falls!

The Vila Luz is a beautiful, peaceful hotel in a lovely seaside setting. One is at the beach or restaurants within a short picturesque walk, approx 10 minutes. We stayed in a studio with a magnificent sea view and enjoyed the option to prepare light meals and enjoy them on our large balcony. On our departure day, we needed to leave before breakfast began. The hotel presented us with a well equipped breakfast basket, which we were able to enjoy before departure. The staff, especially Ilario, were friendly and helpful, making our stay a prefect holiday. The safe in the room, free indoor and outdoor parking, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice each morning were a bonus.

Really good location in the nice village of Luz. Good beach walking distance, goed restaurants in the neighborhood. Breakfast was really good, fresh. Free pool table and and bar where we had our last drinks before going to bed. The room is spacious we had privacy with our kids there. Good cleaning every day, we have cooked a few evenings and have had our diner at the balcony with a lovely views of the swimming pool and the ocean. In the surroundings a lot to see. Lagos is nice, Sagres with a beautiful sunset and and a surfing seen, Benagil where you can kano in between the see-caves. Shortly we had an wonderful holiday

We hiked here- it is just off the dirt trail. I loved the setting, the pool and our room. I wish I had more time here. This is a quiet location yet offers quick walking access to town. The front desk clerk- Hilary (Argentinian sp?) was incredibly helpful and hardworking. He is an employee worth hanging on to and be sure to thank him too. This is a good location not far from a Spar and other restaurants including a bar on site. Breakfast was good and enough food to fill you up.

Absolutely beautiful property perched on a hill overlooking the ocean. All rooms have a patio or balcony. Ours had a view of the ocean. Staff are delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and you can eat either inside or outside by the pool. It’s about 10-15 minute walk to the beach but if you’re adventurous (and fit) you can walk down the rocks and swim off the rocky shore 2 minutes from the beach. There are places closer to the beach but they did not look as nice. Tip- if you like to hike there’s a great trail on the west side of the beach that takes you up to the obelisk on top of the cliff. Best in the early morning when it’s not too hot. Fantastic views. Because of the angle and the way the sun rises over the cliff , if you’re quick (and an early riser) you can get to see the sun rise three times- once close to hotel, another on the beach and another on top of the trail by the obelisk.

Loved the location. It is near the town but on the outskirts so it felt very peaceful. We liked staying here because it felt close to lots of excellent walks and beaches. Loved the sea view room-great size, comfortable bed and lovely views. It was great to have the kitchenette, which gave us the option of cooking on occassion. Breakfast buffet was great and kept us going for our walks along the coast.

The bathroom gets quite a lot of condensation after showers. Really though, this is being very picky. We loved our stay.

- Really friendly staff who were very helpful with suggestions for our stay. - Varied breakfast - they even provided non-dairy substitutes every morning for breakfast. - Very clean, spacious apartment with a large terrace directly onto the pool area - basically had our own sun loungers every day outside the apartment. - Pool was almost always quiet, sometimes we had it to ourselves. - Communal terrace area allowed us to do yoga with the sunrise. - Quiet location but still walking distance along the coast to the town. - Allowed a late check-out, to stay around the pool and use showers for our last day as we had a late flight.

- Nothing major at all - pool toilets were a little run down compared to the rest of the complex but we only used them on our last day.
