Mario is a really lovely host - one of the nicest people we’ve met - he can make anyone feel welcome and looked after. Thank you 🙏 for taking us to town, and for showing us your chickens, and for the lovely breakfast!

We had planned to rent a car but it didn’t work out, so we had to rely on uber. It was ok but having a car would’ve helped as it’s not a walking distance to sintra. Saying that - parking in sintra can be an issue - so if you don’t mind uber (we tried bolt but they constantly cancelled on us) it’s a really nice spot - quiet, with plenty of parking and with lovely views. Mario also let us leave the luggage in the house till late afternoon- after checking out.

The guesthouse was very attractive, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty. We were upgraded to a suite, and we enjoyed the extra space. The owners were very kind and helpful. The garden was beautiful!

A few small downsides: the neighbor's dog kept barking throughout the night. The bed only had two pillows, and I didn't notice until it was too late to request a few more. The location required the use of a car to get anywhere. We had a rental car, but driving in Sintra is hard -- lots of narrow streets and curving roads. It might have been nicer to be able to walk to a restaurant.

Quiet and very convenient location outside of but very close to the historical center and the coast. Mario and Paula are lovely humans and exceptional hosts. Accommodations are stylish, clean and comfortable with views. The photo opp perfect, extensive breakfast with home made rolls, fruit salad, cheese, eggs with charred vegetables, beet hummus and more, was amazing (truly) and so fresh with some items directly from their garden. We truly appreciated the local recommendations and knowledge that Mario so freely and patiently shared with us.

The place is run by wonderful people, Mario and Paola, who are very attentive and supportive. The breakfast was amazing. The bed was very comfortable (and with a choice of pillows). The suite was fully equipped even for a longer stay (although I only stayed for three nights). Sufficient space for parking. Fast internet connection. There are restaurants, pharmacies, and supermarkets available nearby.

There was nothing to complain about. At times, there are some water pressure issues in the shower, but that did not affect my experience a lot.

Our stay at this GuestHouse was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. The rooms are super comfortable, clean, and equipped with everything you need! What we especially loved was the kindness of the hosts and their attention to every detail. The breakfast was incredible: delicious recipes homemade with natural ingredients and produce from their own garden! This place is perfect—not only because of its peaceful location and beautiful view, but also because it's very close to the city.

Mario is an excellent host.He gave us useful information and recommendations of places to visit and excellent restaurants. It is evident that he enjoys having guests and is always available.Thank you so much! The accomodation is ideally situated to visit the surrounding areas.The location of the house is in a quiet residential area.Parking in front of the house.

Everything great

The room we stayed it was very cozy and clean , we had a nice balcony with the garden/mountain view. There was a kettle , fridge and a microwave in the room , and also some coffee and tea. It’s good if you come with car because it’s quite a short ride to the Sintra attractions but not a walking distance. The host was very nice as well and gave some local recommendations for food and what to see.

In our room the shower cabin was leaking a bit so the water would end up on the floor outside and we would use our guests towels to absorb it.

The house is very cosy and has everything for a comfortable stay. The host is very helpful and kind, giving us great tips for navigating sites in Sintra (including places to park and how to get best get between sites), and helped us get a last minute reservation at a restaurant we were keen to visit (the place was packed and I’m sure we would have been turned away if not for the host helping us).

Neighborhood feels quite ‘suburban’ which isn’t my preferred location, but it worked well for getting an early start at sites in Sintra.

Spacious and fully equipped flat. Quiet neighbourhood, beautiful view of Pena Palace. Plenty of parking on the street. The house is at the end of a road with no exit therefore it is quiet. There are several flats in the house and there is a caravan. Paula and Mario are very nice hosts and their signature dish is breakfast. It is prepared by them using local produce, looks beautiful and is very tasty. We had pre-purchased tickets for the 9.30am tour of Pena Palace and the hosts agreed to prepare breakfast for us at 8am (normally it is from 8.30am) - many thanks for this! Mario showed us where to park in Sintra and indeed this was a good recommendation. It's a pity we were only there for 1 night, but if there's only a chance we'd love to return.

Mario is an amazing host. He told us of some of the history of Portugal, showed us his garden, drove us in to Sintra and picked us up. Took us to a recommended restaurant and picked us up when we called , made recommendations for places to visit etc., etc.. Thank you so much for your hospitality, Mario ! Paula and Anna are very nice, but we did not have a chance to speak with them very much. We had a nice view of the Palace & Castle from our large suite .The house is in a quiet area with free parking right at the door. There is a large shared kitchen available. It is just a 10 minute drive to Sintra centro.

Maybe a little far from town for some people. We usually stay near the centre of towns, cities we visit, but of course then there are issues with parking, traffic, noise etc.
