The details in the house are great. There is much love in the rooms and furniture, the bed is supercomfortable. A cosy feeling like home and great for travelers who travel alone. Take a 2 minutes walk to have coffee, eat local food or have a drink in the bar. It’s a 15 minute walk to the historical centre (with more expensive and touristic restaurants) with the great palaces around.

An old family type house with its history, smells and a lot of small things around you. a very good balcony. Location is good. Not far from the train station where all busses start. You will need to go there to catch bus 434 to Peña palace. Gaby is really friendly and provide us with information how to get to places in Sintra. There are a lot of places to it in walking distance. kitchen is equipped with everything you need in a case of you would like to cook at home. Haby speaks good English

Cosy appartment layed out in an eclectic traditional, I think style that reflected the warm personality of the owner. Speaking of which, the owner was helpful and friendly which is one of the main reasons we booked this guesthouse. The online reviews all said the owner was lovely. A map was provided with notes relating to good food, bus numbers, best places to visit in the short time we were there etc. tea and coffee were provided as well.

Casa Mathilda is a cosy address in Sintra. It is just a trickle away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist centre. And has a charming and homely vibe about it. Gaby is a lovely host and we felt very welcome in her beautiful, eclectic home. The bed was super comfortable and we slept our most peaceful sleep in Portugal here.

The room was a bit cramped (or extra cosy). It probably felt so because it didn't have any windows (something that I overlooked and was mentioned in the booking details, so it was my bad to that extent). Otherwise, everything was perfect!

The service was great - I came in late and was still met and helped. The location was also wonderful, and they gave great nearby restaurant recommendations. Friendly and helpful staff, and the room/facility was wonderful.

I didn't expect to be sharing living area with other people, but it really was not a problem at all! Just unexpected, and maybe I should have read the fine print better. Again, though, I didn't mind!

This is a ways outside of the historic center, which we quite liked because of its quiet, local feel. Cafes and restaurants are very close!

Be sure to have Whatsapp to communicate with the host for luggage drop off/check in, as there wasn’t anyone on site when we arrived. There also was no key where there should’ve been for us to leave our belongings.

We liked the outdoor patio, sitting room, and kitchen. Spacious bathroom. Only a few minutes walk to train stations and Sintra’s sites. Gaby was very helpful with visitor information. All very clean and tidy.

Our room was in the back of the building with no exterior window, so was very stuffy, even with a fan. We were charged 5 Euros to store our luggage only an hour from checkin which we felt was a bit of a money grab...

The location is very good, close to the market and restaurants, 10 min walk from historical centre. Gaby runs the place perfectly, and is there to assist with anything so I felt relaxed. The place is exactly as presented online: not spatious, but clean, sweet and comfortable enough. Definitely great value for money! I'd come back any time.

The room was full of decorations. The host provided more than enough coffee, paper towels, and everything we needed. The hostess also met us in person and provided detailed info on the touring the major attraction sites. The parking slot is easy to find near the apartment.

Nothing at all except the street where the house is located is very narrow for car to drive by.

Just stayed the night but during this time, Gabriela gave me lots of information about the types of things i could do during my stay, she had lots of knowledge in this way, and was very kind to me. I slept really well because the bed was so comfortable. Cooking facilities and kettle were available in the kitchen. There's a small supermarket nearby with a variety of tasty things.
