We loved our stay at the Hotel Sintra Jardim. The apartment was perfect for our family and the staff had everything set up nicely for our arrival. We stayed in the apartment, and there was a one-bedroom option or a two-bedroom option, we messaged the hotel for the one-bedroom, which gave us access to a private apartment with a living room that had a couch that pulled out for our children and a private bedroom for us parents. The apartment was detached from the main house but a very short walk across the lot, with a staircase to access the entry. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the apartment had so much space and natural light for our family. The location was perfect and we were close to everything that we needed. The staff was incredible and helped us find anything that we needed. They made us eggs one morning for the kids when requested. The breakfast was amazing, and our children loved eating breakfast every day and picking out their food. The hotel was clean and beautiful, and the gardens were fun to explore. There are rooms throughout the hotel to relax and play games, all beautifully decorated, and so lovely. The gardens had fruit trees, a resident turtle, and a swing that we enjoyed. We loved everything about the hotel. We will be back the next time we're in Sintra.

The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the historical section of Sintra, mainly because you had a maneuver along very narrow sidewalks or into the street which was continually busy with traffic (town and huge tourists buses, taxies, tuktuks, cars, and other vehicles). Just be very careful. The majority of drivers are very respectful, especially the bus drivers who have to constantly maneuver tight turns and around no end of medival moorish walls. Koodos to them! Get on buses 434 or 435 to take you to all the historical locations. Cost $13.50 per adult (in June 2025) where you can hop on and off for a 24 hour period. The bus stop is just up to the left of the hotel entrance. The hotel itself is very old as is most of the properties in Sintra. The rooms are large, there's an assortment of rooms to relax in, a bar with snacks, a satisfying breakfast which was included, a large swimming pool in a absolutely beautiful garden that we loved relaxing in after the craziness of the historical section and bus rides to the moorish castle, etc. If you want absolute peace away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas stay here! The staff are always around, and ready to help as needed.

It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room to keep beverages cold, but we were able to request a bucket with ice that helped somewhat. A kettle coffee maker and cups, etc, would have also been nice. One gets used to these when they travel a lot.

What a lovely hotel! Old fashioned charm with caring staff. The breakfast was amazing- the lady remembered what drink you liked and brought it to the table as you walked into the dining room. Great selection of bread, meats cheeses and fruit (options changed everyday) with hot food available to order (we were always too full for this). There was also fresh orange juice from their own farm! The gardens were stunning and well maintained with a view of the Moorish castle. To top off a wonderful stay, they gave us traditional Portuguese treats on Valentine's day. Would love to return one day!

Staying at this hotel left only the most pleasant impressions. Next to the hotel there is a large and very beautiful English garden with a swimming pool. The garden is very beautiful and well-kept, it offers a magnificent view of the mountains covered with forest. You can listen to the birds singing. Here you can relax not only your body but also your soul. The staff is very friendly. I lost my iPhone charger and the staff helped me charge my phone. Nice interior in the main house with a fireplace. I think in this hotel you can feel peace in every season: be it autumn, summer, spring, etc. Breakfasts are hearty and delicious. Large selection of products. Coffee, warm buns, jams, sausage, local cheeses and much more. The hotel is located within walking distance from the train station, but quite far from the city noise. I highly recommend this place!

Everything! Very comfortable. Lovely traditional and charming. Large beautiful grounds and garden. The loveliest breakfasts served with attention to detail and care. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Great, friendly super helpful staff. Beautifully clean room, with very comfortable bed, cotton sheets, fluffy towels, heated towel rail. Perfect location for us. Great local restaurant, away from the noise and bustle of the town, but not too far away from it. Great for 40min walk up to Sintra palace and castle Mouros. Buses stop outside hotel.

Location great, can park there and walk to castles. In walking distance also exist many restaurants. Breakfast is included and it is good with many healthy options such as eggs, muesli, yogurt, seeds and fruits. The breakfast room is cozy with real fireplace. There are free walnuts on the table near the fireplace, with a nutcracker next to it. It is my first time to use a real nutcracker, it was fun and the walnuts tasted rather good. On the way to the breakfast room there are two living rooms for reading or playing chess, very cozy set up. Garden is pretty. Room is spacious, the table is great for drinking tea and sorting stuff. Hot water comes fast and water flow is big. The three front desk ladies we have met are all very nice.

Bathroom heating has a timer which is very very short and hence does not do a good job of heating bathroom. It is rather cold. Y

A beautiful older hotel with nice rooms and beautiful gardens. It is right on the 434 bus line so very convenient. They let us leave our bags early so we could explore before check in time. The dining area was very handy- we enjoyed breakfast and a late night snack (they are open until 11 pm). It is a 10 minute walk into town and there is a lovely park you can go into for most of the walk so you are off the busy main road. The hosts were all very friendly and helpful.

The property is right on the main road so it is busy and there is construction happening (Oct 2024) so it is loud. It was quiet between 6 pm-7 am.

The pool, the terrace , and garden were all beautiful and very relaxing. Best of all though was the hotels location. lying in between the crowded historic centre, which was fascinating, and the village of Sao Pedro which had some lovely local restaurants, both within easy walking distance. Definately value for money.

Not much to not like so long as you're not expecting a large TV in the room and dinner at the hotel

It is a classic old fashioned hotel and I LOVED it When having breakfast in the morning, there was a fire going. It was a warming experience and a great start to the day. My bedroom was perfect and of all the places I stayed during my trip, it was the warmest, most comfortable bedroom. The location was easy to find and when I parked, it was a short walk to the train station and the Hop On Hop Off buses.

that I couldn't stay longer. A holiday in Sintra involves a great deal of walking, walking up hills etc. I didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the pool and garden (although they looked terrific).

We loved everything about this property. Near enough to the old town to walk yet far enough away to be out of the hustle bustle. Gorgeous well maintained grounds and property. We appreciate the time it takes to keep up this huge garden! The rooms were old as is the building but well maintained and very clean. Cleaned each day with fresh towels. Mira at the front desk is a delight! She was most kind with our requests and to give us good advice on sites to see and restaurants. The hotel is quiet. Continental breakfast each morning was lovely in the garden room with plenty to choose from and fresh juices. We wish we could have stayed longer! Abrigada Hotel Sintra Jardim for making the start of our European trip magical! 🎉
