This place is absolutely incredible! If you can’t determine by the room type, if you’re stressed about anything on booking this, or if you’re in decisive at any point do not hesitate! Just book it, I promise you will be so happy you did! This is essentially a compound, incredible staff members who are extremely accommodating, and is super safe and surrounded by lush gardens, roaming peacocks, which are quite entertaining, and it’s sad along the hillside with incredible vistas from every direction! I booked three rooms, and each of them were absolutely incredible. The mountain suite just blew me away and actually comes with two bathrooms! I came with family and everyone that I’ve talk to not only spoke excellent English, but we’re so kind and willing to help in every circumstance. This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed in my life, and I would recommend it to anyone! I’m still dreaming about it a week later! I special thanks to Carlos for making our trip so excellent!

We came for a relaxing girls’ getaway, and this place felt like stepping into another world — yet it’s just 20 minutes from Cascais. The property is stunning: a majestic building with vast grounds, yet it only has a few rooms, making it feel like an intimate boutique hotel. You feel like you’re staying in a historic, well-kept quinta. Total privacy, incredible nature, peacocks strolling around, birds singing everywhere. The staff were very kind and welcoming. We walked everywhere in Sintra — the location is perfect, very close to the center. And the breakfast was amazing — served personally, exactly how you want it.

The only issue was the bathroom setup. While it looked beautiful, it was only separated from the room by a curtain, which didn’t feel very private. It wasn’t ideal for romantic weekends or even for staying with a friend — one of us had to go outside when the other needed the toilet. It would be much better with a real door))

Unique rooms, comfortable beds, lovely breakfast and fantastic views of the city. Great location, walkable to all sites and shops.

The AC in the room was insufficient. The staff informed us that at 6 pm every evening there would be a wine and cheese event. We showed up, along with 2 other couples, and there was no stuff event. We were told we had the time wrong- yet all three couples heard 6 pm. A bit disappointing. The grounds can be better utilized. The pool and lounge area can be improved.

This property was exceptional. From the welcome drinks to the evening wine and cheese hour this hotel really treats their patrons and makes them feel like guests. The food was excellent. They ask you to order your breakfast off the menu the night before so they can still give a table service the next morning. Everything was wonderful and we got just what we wanted. The pool area and grounds are also wonderful. The pool was well stocked with robes and towels and the furniture is plush and comfortable. We loved staying here.

Only downside is the pool was a bit heavy on the chlorine. I am being extremely picky with this one thing.

An astonishing conversion of a palatial grand house with superb views from the lounge, lovely gardens and such nice staff. The marble room we had was different from any other hotel room we've ever had in its over-the-top grandeur, though its bathroom lacked a shower and there was an absurdly unusable roman bath in the bedroom! Great location, and evening wine, sometimes with entertainment.

Inevitably, grandeur goes with a certain lack of the usual comforts, such as an in-room shower or good bedside lights for reading. Though a splendid breakfast is served, there's otherwise no restaurant - in the daytime go to the garage café just outside, super hamburgers. We stayed for almost a week, which may have been a bit too long - we began to notice the drawbacks ; but you'll be blown away by two or three-night stays, just soaking up the atmosphere.

The entire staff, including John, Claudia, and Maria, were such caring compassionate people who we will keep in our hearts forever always remembering their empathy and concern when we had a death in our family and had to return to the States. They felt like instant friends welcoming us to Portugal when we arrived and so very helpful when we felt so far away from home grieving and needing to get back. We believe Marmoris Palace is the best place to stay in busy Sintra with its quiet location, excellent customer service, delicious breakfasts, incredible beautiful views of Sintra and the Moorish Castle up on the mountain, and evening entertainment with wine and cheese. Please do not hesitate to book the best place you will ever stay.

Everything was excellent. There is nothing we did not like.

The Hotel is transformed from a palace with very beautiful garden , surrounding & view in the dinning room. We had a very spacious room in the palace hotel, and we enjoyed our daily sumptuous breakfast with a "3 Michelin Stars" view, which is facing the beautiful magical Sintra old town & the Castelo dos Mouros :) The reception team & the breakfast serving staffs were all friendly & warmth . A very Great stay for me & my husband.

We had booked the Suite with Garden View, although it was spacious, it had a loft within the Suite with a spiral staircase that leaded up to the loft. I was quite afraid of it as I was not used to it, and thought of weird things might happened in the middle of the night. But after I left the light on during night time, it helped. Nothing weird happened at all :)

Stunning property. You will not be disappointed when you go to the breakfast room and see a beautiful view of Sintra along with greenery, cacti, and peacocks that roam the grounds. We got many pictures of the peacocks with their tail feathers out. The staff is very nice, they accommodated my dietary restrictions (no gluten or dairy) for breakfast and I swear I could even taste how good the olive oil was that my eggs were cooked with! Each night they have some sort of special thing going on like a Fado performance or a magician that you can stop in the main room and see for free, which we did after our days of sight seeing, and they were very good. Great stay.

We had trouble with the room key at first (it’s an old fashioned key that goes into the lock) and needed the staff to show us exactly how far to put the key in before turning it. Staff were happy to come over and help us whenever we needed. I still rate this property a 10 because we enjoyed it so much.

Sintra Marmoris is situated on the other side of the valley to the historic centre of Sintra in a high end residential area, so it was quiet and private (large grounds with security gate) and had stunning views across to the Moorish castle on the top of the hill in the evenings. Excellent furnishings and window treatments - full blockout. Our marble bathrooms in particular were spectacular and as big as the large bedrooms. I loved opening the windows in the morning and looking out over the garden and leafy hills. We specified our breakfast on the day we arrived and were served daily in the breakfast room with a nice selection of eggs, meats, pastries and fruits. There was daily evening wine/cheese tasting and entertainment. I enjoyed the magician (though I didnt think I would!) who was relaxed and friendly and wandered among the guest tables doing card tricks. The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly Carlos who was very patient and calm when I was having problems with my overseas credit card.

The Fado performance was a bit too loud for the space, a few guests left. Also as mentioned Sintra Marmoris is quite a way from the historic centre, so it is a fair walk to get to that side where most of the touristy restaurants etc are. We took Ubers which were quite reliable.

In a land of spectacular ornate palaces, this property continues the theme. Not everything is original but you will be surrounded by the luxury of marble and intricately carved timber as well as large gardens to explore. Staff were wonderful and the generous cheese and wine nights were a great opportunity to meet other guests. Breakfast including made to order eggs was a bonus.

The bath / shower only having a curtain screening it from the rest of the bedroom
