Location is spectacular right in heart of the old town near the castle, churches to visit, the bridge, restaurants etc. Going back in time is wonderful too. The property is beautiful. Pool is fantastic and super chill. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful with a lot of variety of local foods. The cheeses were to die for 😋!

Hotel is truly wonderful but the lack of replacement of amenities in both nespresso capsules/tea and in bathroom (lotion) is disappointing and surprising. For a 5 star hotel I would expect automatic daily replenishment. Breakfast is a late start at 8am so for early risers and those looking to make the first beach ferry that leaves at 8:30am a 7am or 7:30am start would be best.

Comfortable beds, lovely breakfast and pleasant staff. Excellent location.

It is a rather austere building so not somewhere to choose if you are looking for cozy common areas to relax.

The courtyard is simply lovely.

For a 5 star hotel, it was disappointing to be asked to pay for a small jug of milk, so that I could enjoy a coffee (using room facilities).

Love the location and the historic nature of the entire building and area. Just beautiful! We were upgraded to a suite with 2 rooms. It was by far the largest accommodations we had on our entire trip to Portugal and Spain. The front desk staff was fantastic- friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent recommendations for local activities and restaurants! Lovely pool area!

I wasn’t overly impressed with the breakfast. Although there was an extensive selection of food, it just wasn’t the quality that I expected. We ate breakfast out on the second day at a small French bakery with delicious coffee and croissants.

We spent a wonderful weekend at a beautifully restored convent-turned-hotel in Tavira. The setting is peaceful and full of character, with original architecture, vaulted ceilings, and even an on-site archaeological site you can view through glass floors—such a unique touch! The rooms are elegant and minimalist, blending old-world charm with modern comfort. Breakfast in the cloister courtyard was a highlight, and the staff were warm, helpful, and full of insight about the building’s history. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, sharing local tips and stories that brought the place to life. Thank you for acomodating us for dinner with our little dog. Located in the heart of Tavira, it was the perfect base for exploring the town. A quiet, inspiring retreat—highly recommended for a relaxing cultural escape.

The only small area for improvement would be the pet-friendly setup—while the hotel warmly welcomes pets, it would be even better if there were more accommodations during breakfast or dining to make it easier to enjoy meals with our furry friends.

The history and location were nice. The room was clean and nice but we had a broken window and phone. The front desk person was very nice and offered us a different room but it did not have a window to open since it was handicap room. We were too hot to not have a window. So we had to have the swing window open all the way and it was still hot. I didn’t sleep well because of that. It was early March so just keep that in mind if you find yourself to run hot know that AC does not work this time of year as they have a central unit inside of individual. Otherwise very nice place with onsite parking. We had a good dinner here as well.staff was very nice.

No AC possible in March. Many hotels have individual units to allow for this. Just something to keep in mind if you run hot.

The building is absolutely beautiful. Lying by the pool looking at the blue of the sky and the water contrasting with yellow walls is wonderful. The pool itself is so clean. The cloisters where you eat breakfast are so calm and all of the rooms and gardens are immaculate. The staff are efficient warm & friendly. Breakfast is one of the best ever. The room was comfy and immaculate and sitting in the balcony looking up the valley was a delight.

Beautiful building, quiet pool area, sun beds spread out . Good advice on local restaurants.

Only being allowed to use 4 sachets of tea or coffee pods that were supplied in the room before then being charged for more, no milk in room. Nespresso machine provided in took , we were told to ask for hot water from reception for tea but when we did so we didn’t get any. Got one bottle of water on arrival then subsequent bottle had price tag on! Other hotels of same star rating in Portugal did not do this.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. >The breakfast was amazing and the opportunity to eat outside in the courtyard was brilliant. I was amazed at how quiet the hotel was. I never heard any noise coming from any other room. I also found the perfect gift for a friend and the reception staff were fabulous at putting it all together for me. The hotel is centrally located, just a stones throw away from the Castle and within walking distance to absolutely everything.

I had asked them to make a dinner reservation for me which unfortunately wasn't done but in the end it worked out fine. And I would have liked to get a nice massage but aalas I just didn't have time so I guess I'll have to go again and possibly for a longer period.

A beautiful hotel. A little oasis in Tavira - sitting in the beautiful shady central open area or relaxing by the pool was pure escapism. A beautiful historic hotel, thoughtfully and sympathetically restored to maintain character. Super close to the main areas of the town. Lovely, helpful staff. The breakfast was outstanding! We were visiting for a birthday treat arranged for my friend. A complimentary bottle of bubbly and a birthday cake greeted her on check-in - a lovely and unexpected touch.

Can't fault anything.
