The bed was comfy and the room space was spacious and not stuffy at all. Location wise, very near to convenience stores and restaurants. Easy to access the MRT or Bus with maybe a 5-10 minute walk. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here with my GF :)

Toilets were kinda old, but tbh not like dirty, just old looking. The shower head needs to be changed. I'm pretty tall so I need to either sit down or bend down, which is a great workout but I think adding a shower head you can move around your body would be of great help.

The hotel does not include breakfast. However restaurant that served Halal Food is just next the hotel. It serves varieties of food n reasonable price. Hawker centre is about few metres away. Restaurants are just around. Transportation wise also very easy. Be it by bus or MRT( neet to walk abt 10mins) Malls are in walking distance.

The hotel needs to provide additional washing machine. At present only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer. (Located at level 3 same as the swimming pool)

Hotel is good located, Rooms are spacious and pool is perfect for kids, as it's 1m deep. Normally check out is 11am, but I have been allowed to stay 2 more hours for free. Every additional hour is $10.

It could have some improvement.

The hotel has the pool at level 3 with continuous flow of water to make sure it is not stagnant. The room is big as compared to other Hotel 81 branches. The toilet is also big and has a bidet. The staff allowed us to check in early. The lobby looks classy. There are 2 lifts available in the hotel. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the bus stop. There is a lot of eatery just outside the hotel.

We hung the “make up room sign” on the door but our room was not cleaned up. The wooden floor on the room looks old, might be because they removed the old carpet.

It was in the heart of Joo Chiat so it had lots of places to get food, especially the 24hr one downstairs. There was a Cheers right outside. It was hard to miss the hotel, right next to Darul Arqam and Joo Chiat Complex. Straightforward checking in, got old school keys and a card to switch the room on which we liked. Pool was huge. Room was basic and nostalgic, bed, dresser, wardrobe, little kitchenette, bathroom had a bathtub and bidet. Simple straightforward hotel. We needed a good night's sleep and we got it. Wifi is super strong too. Used it to binge Netflix all night. Left a piece of clothing by accident, they already have it waiting for us at Lost & Found (coming soon).

It was just unlucky but the first room we got short circuited whilst we were at the pool, came back to a dark room and a pooling AC. Front desk came over to sort out the circuit breaker but kindly transferred us to a new room at the end of the corridor with a better AC actually. TV didn't work properly, remote wasn't functional but we had our laptops with us so it's OK. Could have done with a wee more toiletries and bartop bits...? And some flowers in the room might brighten it up, otherwise nostalgic. Not much to dislike.

The property was clean, well-maintained, and had a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed, modern amenities, and the peaceful ambiance throughout the hotel. The location was also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience—I would definitely stay here again!

There wasn’t much to dislike! If I had to mention something, it would be a minor detail—perhaps the room could use a little more lighting or the Wi-Fi could be slightly faster. However, these didn’t take away from the overall comfort and enjoyment of my stay. Everything else was excellent, and I truly appreciated the warm hospitality.

I didn’t have time to think about what I didn’t like.

Loved the location. Staff were always helpful and polite. It has convenient eating places nearby. Closed to public transport. Good connecting paths for bicycles. Hotel allowed us to bring bicycles into our room.

The pool wasn't deep enough. There was a 'no smoking' sign just outside the change rooms, but there was an ashtray near the tables so people were allowed to smoke. It was a bit of a conflict of the sign.

shower curtain helped prevent the bathroom floor from getting wet. the beds and pillows were comfy enough. our room had the view of joo chiat shopping complex and geylang market. the wifi was fast and good. the hotel is near lots of halal food.

the toilet was not flushed when we first arrived (easily solved by flushing the toilet). the soap was multi-purpose for hair wash, body wash, hand wash. the showerhead was fixed to the wall, so it was harder to bathe my kids. there was only one bin, which is in the bedroom. the TV seems old/outdated but good enough.
