The Santa Grand East Coast Hotel is located in Singapore's charming and quiet Katong section. This area has various restaurants and beautiful Peranakan architecture. It is well connected to the city center by bus and metro. The hotel is well designed with a lovely small swimming pool on the roof. The room we stayed in was tiny but well-designed.

The tiny room is enough for a short, a few days' stay, but it would benefit from a bench for opening suitcases and additional hooks for hanging clothes outside the wardrobe. Otherwise, all was perfect.

Absolutely amazing staff at the hotel. Good location with connections to the centre ( bus stop was few minutes walk, subway around 20 min walk).

Very loud neighbours. I had to call reception the first night as next-door guests came in around midnight and were arguing until 1:30 a.m. (stopped after the call). It was like they were in the room with us. The same thing happened every single night. We didn't call reception again, we just loudly asked the neighbours to be quiet. But they did wake us up every midnight.

Loved the location, lots of cafes both local and Western in the area. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Loved the pool on the roof.

My room had the traditional old windows , which were wood and coloured glass. So it meant the room was a bit dark. Also no reading light/ lamp next to the bed, so overhead lighting was a bit harsh. No lights in pool area at night, so actually quite dangerous at night..

We had a wonderful stay at Sagara Candidasa in July 2025. Despite its slightly remote location, the hotel more than made up for it with outstanding service and exceptional food. The staff were incredibly attentive and ensured every detail was perfect, while the meals were a highlight, bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. We also took a trip to the nearby Virgin Beach, a true hidden gem that I can’t recommend highly enough – pristine and serene, it’s a must-visit! Sagara Candidasa is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking quality and charm in a peaceful setting.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Katong Heritage Suite which was lovely, very spacious for 3 adults. Roof top pool was a bonus and had great views of the city in the distance. All the snacks and drinks were complimentary in the room, also hot drinks and biscuits in reception was a nice touch. Quick easy walk to the MRT/metro station, we liked being out the city and being within easy reach. The MRT line is direct to the Gardens at the Bay and the Bus station at the end of the road to get back to the airport. Luggage store was treating our last day too.

The exterior of the hotel is lovely and fits right in with this historic neighborhood. The location was exactly what we wanted for proximity to great food options and relative convenience to the airport the following morning. The room was also super comfortable, clean and quiet, so we had a great night's sleep there before a long international flight. Most notably, we had a very friendly, warm reception from Mare at the front desk. She not only gave us a great restaurant tip for the Chinese place a few doors down, but showed up there for her own dinner and waved at us enthusiastically from her table. We felt at home here in our one-night stay, and just wish we could have had time to use the rooftop pool, which is quite lovely!l There were also yoga mats available to borrow for yoga on the roof... will take advantage next time!

Some updates to the bathroom/shower decor would be nice, but everything worked well, so this is just a suggestion and not a real concern.

Santa Grand Hotel truly wowed me! It’s such a charming little gem right in the heart of everything—restaurants, a shopping center, and the MRT station are all just a stone's throw away. The hotel was super clean, and I loved the extra touch of the free minibar along with coffee and tea. It really made our stay special! We were traveling with our little one, and when we requested a crib, they happily provided one for us. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help. I even lost my phone in a cab on the way back to the hotel, and it was switched off, which had me really worried. But Ms. Mery at the reception was amazing! She took the time out of her busy day to help me track it down, calling the cab company and coordinating with the driver to get it back. Thank you so much, Ms. Mery! Your kindness and hospitality meant the world to me!

Location: Convenient as there are many eating places nearby and convenience store is easy to find. MRT is a few minutes walk away and there are several bus stops in the vicinity. Room: Spacious room with comfortable bed and pillows with some complimentary snacks and drinks. Cleanliness: Room and toilet is very clean. Hotel Reception: Nice hotel with good ambience. Staffs are very approachable, friendly, helpful and polite. There are also snacks and coffee machine for guests. Parking: Ample parking spaces, efficient vehicle registration with the hotel counter.

I love the location. It is nearby the Catholic Church, restaurants, groceries and public transport pick-up/drop-off area. The area is quiet and far from busy streets. The hotel room is good for family and the staffs are so friendly and assisting.

Rooms are not as big as i expected. Area is far away from Metro. Taking grab everytime you go places will be expensive.
