Shower Pathetic No Volume & No Pressure. No Soap Tray or Shelf to put Soap, Shampoo etc. Bought to their attention on 1st of 2 Mornings ! No difference on 2nd morning! 1st Morning woken at 4am by the Light Shining through the Curtains & could not get back to sleep. bought to their attention , said they needed Blackout Curtains or Blind. House keeping left me a note and a Sheet to hang over the Curtains. Slept better on 2nd night but the Sheet improved it but not perfect

Warm cosy stay, great value for money. What a difference from our last visit two years ago under previous ownership when the place was sad and souless with no food on offer at all (no chef then). All the staff were friendly and approachable, taking pride in their work. We were impressed at the updated decor in the bar area where they've obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make it modern and welcoming... somewhere where you're happy to stay for drinks or meals. Every evening seemed busy with a good atmosphere... popular with visitors and locals. The food was first class, and our stay included a wonderful breakfast which set us on our way for exploring the area. Large free car park round the back, and located right in the middle of this small town. Ideal for exploring this part of Dartmoor or South Devon.

Lovely pub atmosphere, excellent evening food, and fantastic value for money. The included breakfast was freshly cooked, presented nicely, tasty, and there was a good choice of options. For an included breakfast it was above expectations. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Creaky floors kind of come as a given when staying at an old pub but it did make it difficult to nip to the bathroom without waking up the whole pub. The mattress also weirdly had a bit of a dip in the middle so me and my partner took turns falling into it. That meant we didn't get the best night's sleep.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and cooked fresh with a selection of cereals and fresh fruit etc. The room was comfortable, warm and generally clean and I slept easily. Good water pressure on both hot and cold giving great shower.

Only little thing is the extractor fan in bathroom needed cleaning and shower rail was loose but that's it.

Huge improvement on our stay last year. The new owners have made a big effort to improve the whole atmosphere of the pub, friendly staff ,clean rooms, nice outside seating areas. Excellent choice of food on the menu, hot and freshly cooked. Still work to be done, but so much better than last year.

Slight cooking smell from the extractor fans, but it went once the cooking had stopped.

We had a large bedroom for a couple, included double bed and 2 bunk beds. Lots of space, included sofa, hot drink facilities. Comfortable double bed. Slept well. Very clean bathroom and bedroom. Nice white towels. Very quiet for a town location. Easy safe parking right behind the room. Beautiful views over the Moors. Very pleasantly surprised.

Shutter style window slightly broken in bedroom so wouldn't stay up, quite a hot day/night. But we found something to prop it up with. Plus a fan had been provided which was very much appreciated in heatwave weather.

rooms a little basic, heated towel rail in en suite didn't work. An info folder in room with WiFi code and local info would be a suggestion.

Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff were approachable, friendly and very helpful, indeed. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. This is an excellent base for travelling around the local area.

A little noisy at times but the accommodation is part of a pub, so it's to be expected and was manageable.

The breakfasts on both mornings were delicious. Hubby had the full English both mornings, I had scrambled eggs on toast one morning and scrambled eggs on toast with bacon on the second. Good sized servings and the waitress was very friendly. The room was a good size with a really comfy bed. Nice shower room with a sensible shower, not the horrible waterfall kind which I personally hate!

I liked everything.

Lovely cosy, local pub in Bovey Tracey, lovely welcoming staff, the room was spacious and so clean, had everything toiletries,and tea making facilities. The best bit was the breakfast, amazing best vegetarian breakfast we have ever had, complemented the staff for a great stay. We will be back 👍
