The hotel was located very conveniently. One of the staff at the reception was very helpful gave us a complete overview of how we should plan our time and also bus routes and various other information that helped us make the best use of our time in Salzburg. She completely set the tone for our stay there. Also, the hotel has adequate parking is set in a picturesque lane.

- Cleanliness of room carpet could be improved - Facilities like tea kettle and the ancillaries could be provided - Breakfast per head is overpriced

This hotel is located on the outskirts of the city, with its own parking lot. When we arrived, they offered free E-bus passes called Guest Mobility Ticket (seems to be a municipal promotion to encourage public transportation), so we parked our car at the hotel and used them to explore the city. The hotel room was a decent size, but with our child, it felt a bit cramped after adding an extra bed. However, the breakfast was excellent, especially the Austrian Semmel bread, which the hotel makes deliciously. My whole family loved it. The hotel also has its own restaurant (called Kohlpeter Restaurant) downstairs, accessible from the ground-floor lobby. It's a great place. We dined there on both days, except for our first day in downtown Salzburg. The beer is also excellent; I saw quite a few locals driving in just to enjoy beer and chatting.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location was good —just a 4-minute walk to the bus station. The area was quiet and pleasant, perfect for relaxing. The restaurant on-site was a highlight: the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. I also appreciated the good Wi-Fi connection. Overall, a great experience!

The room was a bit dim, which my kids didn’t enjoy as they prefer brighter spaces. One of the beds was slightly broken—not a major issue, but worth mentioning. The room didn’t smell very fresh, likely due to the age of the building. It would also be great to have a kettle in the room for making tea or coffee, as well as an iron and ironing board for convenience.

Staff were.helpful and we managed to check in over 2 hours before scheduled 3.00 check-in, which was excellent and really good so we could refresh after our journey before exploring the city. Breakfast was plentiful and the evening meal of wiener schnitzel and local beer was superb. Highly recommend the restaurant although book in advance as it was busy - the waitress was really attentive. A pity it was shut on the Sunday night (and Monday) as we would definitely would have eaten there on our second night too. Bus service to town is efficient too. (about 15 mins) and you can get a 24 hour.bus ticket from machines by most bus stops for less than €5. We did walk into the centre on our first night to get our bearings - it took around 30-40 mins (pleasant walk by the river for half the journey). We went to watch RB Salzburg and the walk was around 25 minutes to the stadium - so the hotel is a good location for that too. It was çheaper than hotels more central but with regular bus service to the city this was good. Overall highly recommended and would stay again if visiting Salzburg.

It was a little noisy in the room overnight if you had the window open.

Really helpful, cooperative and professional staff who are ever ready to help you out with all your concerns and queries. The property is well maintained, and we had a pleasant stay. The bus stop is a short walk away from where you can get a bus that connects you to almost every part of Salzburg. A word of advice if you are planning a stay at Kohlpeter. Please try out their restaurant. You will probably have to book a table in advance. But the food is excellent. And the restaurant staff is also outstanding. Highly recommended.

Nice, dicent hotel. Spotless clean. Spacious bathroom. The location is not in the city center, however, there are enough good bus and train connections. Strongly suggest 30min walk to the main raiway station through the nice living districts, passing by city library and big supermarket. This walk is the best part of my visit to Salzburg. Restaurant is great also, definitely try it.

The mattress was on the soft side but this is connected with personal preferences.

This is a wonderful, family-run small hotel, with loads of character. Parking was free, and we found it an easy 10-15 minute drive from the hotel to the heart of downtown. I understand there are good bus options nearby to get everywhere you might need to go. We booked a “double” room and requested the queen bed option - what we got was a king size bed in a very generously sized room on the 2nd floor at the back. The furnishings and carpet were not new, and some might call the decor a little tired, but we found the room charming, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The bed was reasonably comfortable and had good pillows and European style individual duvets. We had a small sofa, table and chairs, and tiny fridge. We also had a balcony with table and chairs and even a glimpse of the alps. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Dinner at the on site restaurant was also excellent! Overall, a wonderful stay and great value.

I've stayed in this hotel before as couple with a double room. That room was fantastic, and the 30-minute walk to the Messezentrum is easy, so I came again. The single room is much smaller but provides the same comfort with spacious bathroom, mini fridge and air-conditioning. It even came with an extra thing: An electric adjustable bed! There is plenty of storage space and the bathroom has enough surface area for personal care items. There is enough light and desk space if you need to work in the room. Not listed online but mentioned in the guest book: You can ask for a kettle at the reception. Room 1 faces the quiet back garden, but is placed immediately next to the stairway, and above the breakfast kitchen. So it doesn't have street noise...but you get other noises like slamming doors and kitchen hammering (? Schnitzel?) in the morning. Bring ear plugs if you get woken up easily. Aside from that it was quiet during the night. The hotel was probably not full at the time of my stay. The location does not have a direct public transport connection, but buses aren't too far away. It's good for walks and has a lidl and BILLA fairly nearby, a petrol station with mini shop, a pharmacy and bakery/café around the corner. Ignaz-Harrer-Straße isn't a pretty street but has a selection of restaurants. If you're looking to visit the city centre then another location might be better. The hotel's restaurant offers excellent traditional food and wines. Inside is cosy, while the garden is spacious. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, though.

The kitchen noise on Sunday morning 8:30 am wasn't great (on other days I left before 8 am). Solved with ear plugs!

Quite nice hotel, we travelled with the car, it is very convenient to reach the hotel. The staffs were very friendly. The public transportation was also very convenient to reach the city centre.

We had our late lunch at the hotel. The service was good. The cost was ~Euro 50 for my family and I gave the waitress Euro 60 for changes. We were really shocked, because she didn't return the changes to us. We were happy to pay the tips, but not like this way.

Good location only 15min bus ride (8 stops) to the centre of Salzburg. Good parking for motorcycles. Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable room with a/c. Excellent restaurant attached to the hotel (although apparently run as a separate business).

Breakfast was ok but mostly packaged food. Very few restaurants nearby if hotel restaurant is closed, limited to a very expensive fine dining option nearby or a shopping mall food option.
