Overall it was a nice hotel. Guest rooms were modern, well decorated, good size, clean and loved the beach bag and towels. The best part was the Hotel location which was amazing. Beautiful grassy area and beach location was beautiful. We loved that they had beach chairs and umbrellas which is great if you are traveling from out of state. it was a busy weekend and lots of kids!

The outside lounge area was very nice but cushions needed to be cleaned, not well maintained for a new hotel. As for the pool area it was very busy and staff needed to be more attentive and clean up the area more frequently. It was a holiday weekend and they needed more staff!

It was wonderful in so many ways. We love the location, the lawn, we had a sound view room which was stunning. The food was great and the staff was really kind.

Something seemed to be going on with housekeeping. One day our room was never cleaned. They never refilled things when they were used for our entire stay. Also We didn’t get to use the s’mores kit we bought because the staff didn’t light the fire pit but they didn’t offer refunds. Lastly I was with my husband so I didn’t feel weird this time but we were regularly asked to tell our last name and room number to staff which I would have been very uncomfortable with if I were traveling alone. It’s better to have people write them down for safety.

Renovations are really beautiful, clean and modern. The grounds are the exact same and are still so lovely. Restaurant smelled great but there are too many great restaurants in Wrightsville for me to consider eating at my hotel.

The air conditioning is the same loud, drippy system that has a hard time keeping the room comfortable. Bars were out of several items - one being coffee beans which was heartbreaking because the coffee in the room is maybe the worst thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. The hot tub was green and full of small children…no parents in sight.

Did not like the resort fee of about $43/day which is not included in the room booking price

How amazing the staff is and the accommodation were amazing

The location is very nice. The property of the resort (beach side) is well maintained.

We last stayed here in 2015 when it was the Blockade Runner Resort and our son was young. The staff needs training. I called downstairs for a wine opener. I had to call back 45 minutes later only to be told that the restaurant was closed. No one had returned my call to tell me. I had to walk the front desk through customer service protocol, and a wine opener was brought to my room within 10 minutes. I overheard a worker tell a guest, who handed him the keys to his car, that they do not park cars and offer valet service. There was a line of guests trying to depart as a Tropical Depression approached. Two workers were standing at a valet stand, talking to each other. Guests were running through the rain to their cars. Limited staff working.

Nothing that great for $50 bucks

No ice makers....just lines of people waiting at the bar to get ice from the bartender who was totally put out. Not enough parking so spent a while trying to find a space. Asked the guy parking cars about what to do and he was very much put out to speak to us. Waited to get in a room with a lobby full of other people waiting on rooms. Went to the pool and there were no towels but hundreds waiting to be washed all over the ground. AC in room was set on 70 and never got to that temp until 7 in the morning. All that would have been ok but then after all that you get the bill and the 299 room turned into 436 after taxes fees and all the wonderful property charges that are added to the room. Kind of a joke!

The property was in a great location with access to both ocean and Bay.

I did not like that housekeeping did not come and we had to search for towels and toilet paper.
