This property has a lot of potential but unfortunately has not been maintained and therefore needs a refurbishment. Bedroom was large with balcony and the bed comfortable. Restaurant food was very good and the staff very friendly. Pool area was nice and the grounds beautiful. The property is in an idyllic location. Staff at reception were friendly but totally inexperienced- they really need to be trained better. Management of the premises was very poor - no one seemed to be in control of services and customer care. Very pricey given the lack of trained staff and overall poor maintenance of the place.

Enchanting place, immersed in a spectacular nature. The atmosphere is muffled, relaxing and welcoming. The structure is very beautiful, with some small details that could still be improved. Our suite (AAMBAL) very beautiful, with a small pool, lake view, immersed in absolute peace. All the staff deserves a special mention, for the attention, courtesy and professionalism. For some a special mention: all the reception staff, attentive to our needs and guardian of our forgetfulness! Athul, responsible for the SPA services, with the two professionals, Shilba and Binu who for days took care of our needs. At the restaurant, where all the waiters deserve applause for efficiency and commitment but a special appreciation goes to the kitchen brigade and its Executive Chef Arun Surendran. We are two frequent travellers, with considerable experience of India and its special cuisine even if very spicy for Western tastes. For four days we had the privilege of tasting traditional Indian and Kerala dishes (Allapey vegetable curry, Kadai Murg, Paneer do pyaza, Vendakka pepper fry, Spiced papad, Malabari Paratha), excellently prepared, with a formidable balance and taste, even for Italian palates, which is no small thing! Really compliments.

The staff and facilities at the hotel were amazing, it really was a taste of paradise. Unfortunately, I was ill during most of my stay as I'd picked up a stomach infection on my travels just before I flew in the Kerala. So I was unable to eat or do very much for the first 5 days of my stay. However the staff could not have been better, Lekha, Soniya and Prasoona would check in with me a number of times during the day, making sure that I was ok and well looked after. They ensured that I was taken to hospital when I needed treatment, and Soniya stayed with me to ensure I was ok. When I was feeling a little better, Lekha took me out to enjoy the facilities, including the garden and incredible views over the waters, and to see the talented local dancers who performed in the evening. When I was eventually able to eat a little, Jamon the cook was fantastic and soon got me eating again, catering to what I was able to eat. All of the waiting staff at the restaurant were brilliant too, including Cautram and Gopakumar who also went the extra mile to make my stay special. I think I was probably the only solo traveller there, but I plan on coming again and hopefully in better health, to fully enjoy this beautiful hotel.

Beautiful room with private plunge pool and view of the lake. Huge bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower. A bathtub and his and hers sinks too! Very sweet staff and lovey hotel activities included.

Service at restaurant and room service is slow. We waited c.30 minutes for our meals. No alcohol served at hotel. Limited advice/knowledge of excursions and activities in surrounding areas - had to mostly arrange ourselves.

The entire experience was great, near the hotel there are a lot of restaraunt and place to visit like bird watching and the possiblity of the boat service, the staff were cordially and the condiction of the room was grat! Thank you

I think is the only one that has a private swimming pool but the problem is the privacy, i mean if i want to relax or stay in my own the problem is the people outside that can look inside because the leaves didn't garantee the privacy request

The Superior Villa with Lake View is fabulous We were celebrating 50th B-day of my husband and they organized a cake, that was delivered in the room for breakfast In the evening we enjoyed the activity - typical dance and music The Spa is stunning +++ The restaurant fabulous! The Indian food ++very good and a great service team We requested to help us to organize the backwater tour in the area of the hotel and it was amazing. Don't miss it! (much better than the one's in Alleppey) Location, you can enjoy the gardens, swimming pool, lake view or go out of the hotel for a walk

Alcohol not available a the hotel - we missed wine to celebrate the B-day. Anyway not a big issue, we replaced with delicious juices and lassi (It is something you will face in most of the hotels in Kerala)

The property was beautiful and well maintained.. Perfect for a morning or an evening stroll. The staff was also considerate and went above and beyond to help us with any special requests

Tiny details matter when it comes to expectation for a 5 star ⭐. The floor of the swimming pool is not the usual shiny blue tiles, it's rough tiles. So my son and I both scratched our feet at multiple places. Also there are no lights in the swimming pool which makes it really hard to swim at night. The food was okay.. Not really 5 star quality.. It was just ordinary.. The breakfast spread also was not impressive and did not have the variety you would expect to see in 5 ⭐. For example there were only two types of cakes, and both were mediocre. Don't get me wrong the staff were really friendly but the attire especially for the men staff was so 😑. Some of them were shabby, old and worn out. Def not dress to impress!!! Needs an update.

Stayed for 2 days at this beautiful resort. However, the checkin was supposed to be at 2 and we got our rooms only by 4. However the staff was very nice and did offer us activities to do while waiting for it. The superior room was very large and over looking the lake. The Breakfast is quite nice, not many options but the food is tasty. The price of the dishes are very reasonable as well. Pool is very clean and temperature controlled. Location is a good, however you will need auto or a taxi to go around anywhere near. The hotel can arrange boat rides, autos at reasonable price as well.

During peak seasons the price is high for the property. The AC in the room we stayed in had a ticking noise coming in all night. The service is a bit slow but the staff is very nice and friendly. They should have fans at the reception area, it gets quite hot there.

The rooms were huge. The bathrooms could have had a bath tub though given the size. The property is very clean, well maintained, very beautiful and well located. The staff were amazing. The food is to die for especially the local Kerala good. We arrived at 3.30 pm and yet they did not have rooms ready. This was disappointing. The management more than made up by offering us a dinner on the house. Thanks very much for that. They even arranged a cake on check out even though we only stayed a night. Lovely hospitality.

There need to be fans at the reception area since it gets hot in the day.
